This is actually a wonderful HSF, 31'C idle, 54'C @ full load!!! @ Stock speeds i7 920 (antec 1200 case). Extremely easy to install. I feel very good understanding that this HSF is keeping my high-priced cpu cool. none The high quality of every piece in the box that comes with this is superb. You can inform this was finely crafted and nicely believed out. I would give 6 eggs for this if I could.

I'm sick of loud heatsinks, or poor cooling Heatsinks. I'm sick of the compromise between the two. Generally we're left with the old thinking of, "The cooler the heatsink, the louder, the quieter the heatsink, the hotter." This solves that dilemma. My Phenom II 550 black Ɣ cores unlocked) hasn't ran greater then 48C on full video settings in Crysis and Dragon Age. The two fans are so quiet, even with case open, and laying next to the processor, I cannot detect anything. Not a con for me, but I did study prior to I bought this. IT IS Massive. This behemoth takes up really a bit of room. Make confident you measure the distance from your PCU to your case side. Add a centimeter to be protected and if it fits, Purchase THIS Factor. If not, nicely, that sucks. My Antec case has about 1.five" of clearance so I'm fine. My it comes truly close in my Lian Li although. Do some analysis on dimensions and case size prior to you get this great heatsink.Price tag is higher, but it's not seriously a con, if you want good cooling with no noise, then you'll pay for it. Well worth the price. Have four 120mm fans running under 1000rpm's and they are nonetheless louder than this sucker. This is a strong constructed heatsink. It anchors tight and sturdy to the processor and motherboard. Make certain you read the directions ahead of you jump into it. Don't install fans till it is fastened to motherboard. Not the biggest fan of tension clips for fan mounts, but the seating of the fans in the heatsink, and retention strength of clips look to do the job effectively. It's not quite, in particular the fan colors, but it does it's job, quite cool, and Incredibly quiet.

This cooler works well. It dropped my cpu temp someplace around 10c. Also extremely uncomplicated to set up, while other folks may possibly consider the clip on mounts for the two fans are low-cost, I uncover that they are all too uncomplicated to install and take off, and do their job just fine. It barely fits in my Antec 900, but I suppose that's what I get for skimping on the case!

Silent and extremely efficient cooling, even in overclocked environments. Incredibly strong mounting mechanism. Fans are effective and quiet. Installation directions are clear. Overall construct quality is exceptional. It's not cost-free? Earlier this year I shipped a method containing this cooler to a client; FedEx smashed the bejesus out of the case, destroying it. I was positive that the cooler would be rolling around inside the case, but it was still mounted precisely where it should be--though the side panel was dented from exactly where it impacted the cooler. Program powered right up and ran just fine.

Even immediately after heavy use for hours during extended gaming sessions the method is nevertheless operating nice and cool. Just built a new personal computer with ASUS ASUS P6X58D Premium mobo and Intel Core i7-950. With the Intel stock HSF I was obtaining temps of 49 C idle and in the 90s C with prime95.Installed this HSF and my idle temp is 28 C and 55 C under full load with prime95. The quality of this HSF is superb all around. The instructions had been straightforward to follow--just study 'em a few instances ahead of performing the actual set up. None. I had to take away the mobo to install the back bracket, but that wasn't a large deal.

Have had this running on my e8400 and my q9550, now took it off this morning to mount on my Sandy bridge 2600K which arrives from newegg tommorrow.Extremely Fantastic heatsink and has a quite simple and safe screw mounting technique.two Noctua fans are โ so you are receiving the cooler for only ร.75. I have a total of 5 120mm and 1 140mm noctua fans in my case. Incredibly fantastic air movement at a quiet non grinding noise. Installing the fans on the cooler with the little clips is really hard and takes patience, specially if you are installing this with the cooler inside the case. With my sandy bridge I will be mounting on the board initial then into the case (You have to set up the fans immediately after screwing the cooler to the motherboard) but the fan assembled does not block any of the mounting screws for the motherboard itself. Plug in the 8 pin motherboard power provide and the fan headers ahead of slipping the board in the case as they are a tight fit. Want the noctua fans had been a differnt color but cannot complain about their performance and sound level.

I got this cooler for my i5-750, because my two key issues in the system rebuild have been heat and noise. It has exceeded my expectations for each.I'm operating it with only 1 of the two supplied fans, with the "ultra low noise adapter" (this tends to make the fan run at RPM, rather than 1600.) In this configuration, the CPU temperature is -2C over ambient at idle, and ㅑC more than ambient completely stressed. (No overclock.)The cooler is huge, but fits comfortably inside my Antec Solo chassis. Mushkin Blackline memory also match with out any trouble. The solution is effectively-built, and installation was effortless. I didn't need the second fan. Quick rebate turnaround time. By the time I was emailed nifty status updates for the other two rebates forms I submitted, I already had the Noctua rebate check in my hands.

Cons: I installed mine with the mainboard in my case (Antec 302). Bit of a bugger applying the retention springs on the fans.

Pros: Great cooling, reasonable price and quiet!
Comment:
Great quality, for a good price. Got mine on a price match from a competitor for $42.88. Sure the D14 may drop  the temps 1-3 degrees C more but at 500 grams lighter and half the price, its a no-brainer. My i7 3770k ran at mid 70's C (stock speed) after a few rounds of BF3 with all settings maxed. After the install, temps drop ped by aprox 20 degrees C and much quieter. A suggestion if I may, if mounting in a case and you are attaching the fan retention springs, attach the "hook" ends onto the fan first then press into position onto heat sink, not the other way around as I did on the first three of the four. Way easier.Gave it 4 out of 5 cause no suggestion as to easiest way to apply springs in manual. Caused me great stress.

This functions fine for AM3 sockets with the right case, I installed this in a Lian Li ArmorSuit P50 and truly located that I preferred it directing air towards the top of the case since there are two 140mm fans there for exhaust. That stated, this cooler would be a terrible choice for an individual working with an older style case that had the PSU leading mounted and/or had no exhaust in the prime of the case. Given the sheer size of this cooling remedy, some homework and thought does require to be completed ahead of laying out the dough for this.As for cooling potential, this does fine with my AMD Phenom II 955 BE OCʄGhz. I usually see temps about 53C below complete load in a 24C room. I employed the included NT-H1 compound and the "dot" approach for the duration of installation. The noise level is quite great even operating straight off the PSU. With a fan controller and typical CPU clock speeds, you could very easily silence this thing. The fan installation is a bit of discomfort considering that you have to install them right after you mount the heatsink. It's pretty significantly the nature of the beast when dealing with this type of cooling answer, so I can't seriously mark it down due to the fact of that. Nonetheless, if you haven't installed an HSF like this ahead of, the installation can be a tiny time consuming and a bit nerve racking due to the fact you are dealing with close to a Kg of weight mounted to your board and sitting on top of your CPU. I would suggest figuring out your fan mount tactic prior to mounting the heatsink to the board.

Good cooler for my i7 950. Overclocked to 3.7ghz with idle temp at 37c and 65c on load. I like the secu-firm mount and the accessories it comes with are excellent from the thermal paste to the excellent (ugly) fans. Larger than my Thermaltake V1 it replaced and I had to eliminate two side fans for it to match on my Raidmax Smilodon case. The create high quality is really nice. Just holding it in your hands you get a feel for how nicely it's constructed. The exact same sentiment goes with the two fans and it's fantastic to get two of them thinking about how a lot they cost when purchased as is.

I purchased this to replace a faulty stock fan that came with my Intel I7 950. Wow, does this issue deliver the goods. I am making use of an Asus P6X58D Premium and Corsair Dominator RAM. I had no issues with the fit even thought the unit is very big. Even overclocked this point is at 30-40 Celsius. Why use cream colored fans???!!!..LOL!!! It makes me feel like I am on a set of Very good Occasions or Welcome Back Kotter. That getting stated, my machine is below a desk so I couldn't care less, but I know other individuals could. Wonderful solution. This is 1 properly engineered and executed design. Newegg delivered promptly as usual, great service to go with this great product.

Have a new i7-920 construct asd wanted to do some OC'ing. Stock cooler was quite good but wanted superior. Initial purchased a Cooler Master V8 mainly because it was rated very good and looked extremely very "cool". V8 only dropped the temps 1-two degrees c. So did some much more reseach and identified this Noctua. Rather ugly in a clear case but dropped my temps below load a complete 15 degrees c. That's big! Installed each fans in a push pull configuration. Running in an Antec 1200 case so currently had fantastic ventilation. with Asus p6t deluxe v2 mobo and Antec case lines up perfectly with exhaust fans in back. Fans run at a low 1400 rpm (compared to v8 2000 rpm) and is quite quite. V8 was also very but didn't do the job. Possibly a thing was defective with the V8 but every thing looked fine. Ugly colors so decided to discomfort stakingly paint the fan housing to match my color scheme. Left the fan blades alone. Did paint the center of the fan a neon colour and appears extremely very good! I would deduct an egg because of the color but the point worked so excellent I didn't have the heart. The directions had been great. Nonetheless demands a fair amount of operate to set up but nothing that tricky. In contrast to the V8 if I ever want to re-seat the heat sink, I won't want to pull the Motherboard. Also took me some time to figre out how to mount the fans with the clips. Directions have been a little lame on how to do this. Ultimately saw an installed Noctua on youtube and figured it out. Also the clips scratch the heck out of any custom paint job. I want they would come up with some superior colors and the top rated of the heat sink is also very blah, but functional. Finally reached the four ghz OC club on air using the Noctua! Runs at about 76-78 degrees c below complete load utilizing Prime95 (Blend test) and about 32-3 degrees c at idle. Room temp around 22 c with the box totally sealed up. Sounds high but thats at 4 ghz and full load which is unrealistic for any normal Computer usage even high finish gaming. Again this is coming from a 1st time make noob. My goal (from my reaserach) was to preserve the cpu temp beneath 80 c. The individual cores do go a tad larger than 80 c at a CPU temp of 76-78c. To OC I simply jacked up the FSB to 190 mhz. Simpleton method but it worked. A lot to find out. I know I can do some tweaking to enhance the processor speeds and decrease the temps. Can't go wrong with i7-920 (Do), Asus P6T Deluxe V2, Noctua, Antec 1200. With the Cooler Master V8 my temps had been limiting my OC'ing to around 3.five'sh ghz... once again making use of the similar simpleton OC'ing strategy.

- Operating and AMD Phenom II x6 1055t (Stock 2800MHz) - Idle 17-19C - Max Temp ƒ hour pressure test) 30C- QUIET. Ridiculously quiet actually. Don't bother working with the included voltage regulators. You can't even hear either of the fans @ max RPM. - I can only match 6bg of RAM (G-Talent Ripjaws) because of the direction that I had to mount it. My motherboard forced me to mount it in a push pull that moves down > up alternatively of right > left. This isn't a huge deal, just make sure you know which path it will mount on your motherboard, otherwise you could be stuck w/ a three slot max if your RAM has heat spreaders. - AMD Phenom II x6 1055t (Stock 2.8GHz)- Cooler Master HAF 922- 4GB G-Talent Ripjaws- Noctua NH-U12P SE2- XFX HD 5770- ASUS M4A79XTD Evo- WD Caviar Black 7200 750GB

Absolutely meets my expectations - CPU tends to remain in the 21-22 C variety and the two Noctua fans are incredibly quiet. I used the thermal paste that came with the Noctua, working with a non-magnetic plastic card to spread the paste more than all of the Noctua bottom rather than the CPU face (I identified it less complicated to puit on an even thin paste spread. Would recommend you go to the Noctua net web-site to make certain you acquire the unit manufactured for your motherboard. Would also suggest you purchase Thermal paste remover and Surface Purifier, both so you can prepare the two mating surfaces and to clean up any mistakes. Cools PHENOMENALLY, seriously, this thing is a beast. I went from 3.36GHz @ ㆈC with an Intel stock cooler to 4.01GHz @ ㅲC. This point is fantastic for all you overclockers out there, and I can personally attest to that.Excellent thermal paste included, saved me yet another ŭ-ten on prime of the currently hefty price tag tag.Comes with two fans for a excellent push-pull config.Operates well with my ASUS P7H55M-PRO Micro ATX mobo. It does block one particular RAM slot, but a module with a low-profile heatsink fits underneath, but one fan need to be removed in order to set up the module initially. Fans might be ugly for some, but I like the distinctive look. It makes them stand out in my case. Certainly the size, but that's a issue with any fantastic CPU cooler anyway.Price tag, while when you assume about it, it comes with an awesome heatsink, two ษ fans, and a tube of ~ŭ thermal paste, so it actually isn't a undesirable value. Not to mention the performance of the complete package is completely worth the dollars in my opinion. Granted, this is my fist aftermarket cooler, but I really like it, and am really glad that I sprung for an pricey but higher quality heatsink and fan setup. I would recommend this to definitely any individual.

Quiet, cools effectively. Tends to make my Zalman GPU cooler seem loud. Size can make installation hard. To quote my wife, the fans are "horrifically ugly". Initially, I produced a mistake attaching the mounting brackets to the heatsink. They should be on top, not beneath, otherwise you get a ӯmm gap amongst the plate and the CPU which signifies points run really hot. Hopefully that assists the next particular person who spends two days pulling out their hair attempting to make it function.I installed this on a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P in an Antec 900. It covers the initially two RAM slots so you can't use tall heat spreaders.

Keeps points cool. My i7-920 idles about 35C and hasn't gone more than 50C at load. Fans are quiet (but not silent as some right here have suggested), and installation is initially straightforward. Beige? Is there even a single particular person right here with a machine these fans don't completely clash with?Functioning with this cooler's elements inside a case can be a real discomfort. I don't mean installing the backplate (though that's no bundle of exciting either), but in fact adjusting the fans and the pins that safe them. They can get quite finicky when you don't have a lot space to operate with. I've seen other folks report a lot reduced temps than I saw, so I attempted removing and reapplying my thermal paste (Arctic Silver five) prior to reattaching my heatsink in hopes of seeing an improvement. There was none. My temps are nonetheless a lot more than sufficient-- maintaining an i7-920 at 50C on just about max load is nothing at all to scoff at-- but I was hoping for one thing a lot more. Maybe I'm as well greedy.
