Pros: Sleek looking unit.Aluminum case.

I have this attached to the Arris Gateway from Shaw and it works very slick. I installed a Western Digital WD AV-GP 2TB drive in it and it has been ticking away nicely with no hiccups for a couple of weeks now.If you're looking for an expander for your Gateway, I would highly recommend this unit!

Cons: finger print magnet, huge power adapter

Pros: slim enclosure
Comment:
I'm thinking it would be less prickly just to open my side pannel, plug the sata power & restart, rather than taking out & plugging the usb/bulky power cord & then unplugging & storing them after im done backing up

Cons: Bright LED light (optional attachment)

Pros: Build Quality;Aluminium case; andeSATA
Comment:
Recently purchased 2 more of these as I was so happy with the first. Two years ago this product also came with the internal SATA connection cable and a mounting plate which apparently is no longer included.Bright drive activity LED can easily be covered with electrical tape. As the LED is recessed, reflection provides indication without the blinding flash of the blue indicator LED.

Cons: Proprietary power connector means you'll likely be buying a whole new enclosure if it ever breaks

Pros: Durable, sturdy, works as described
Comment:
Other than the power connector, which may or may not even be a problem, it's a great little device, especially at the price.

Cons: Cheap parts and labour

Pros: Easy to install
Comment:
I have now owned 3 of these. With a 1 TB WD HD inside, they are used as a PVR expander with my Shaw's Pace set-top box. The first one seems to have failed after 2 years (PVR no longer detects the HD even though the enclosure switches on and LED blinks), so I had to buy a new one. What surprise me with my third purchase is that, unlike the first two, the third one no longer includes a SATA-to-eSATA bracket. With this item now becoming quite a bit more expensive, I will probably either switch to using an external HD next time, or use a 2.5-inch HD and enclosure.

Cons: aucun

Pros: très simple d'utilisation ,
Comment:

Cons: It is a lot bulkier than I anticipated. I don't feel comfortable using it with the vertical stand, looks like it would tip over easily. I plan to leave it lying flat on my desk. The power cord is short (maybe 5-6 feet at the most), but workable.

Pros: Very easy to setup, you will just need a screwdriver.Cheap when it was on sale. The enclosure feels very sturdy and tough, little vibration and cool to the touch.
Comment:
I had a 2TB SATA2 hard drive, for some reason it wasn't working with my motherboard anymore. Tried it with this enclosure and it's working fine (so I guess it is either my motherboard or PSU).

Cons: Power supply plug awkwardly shaped

Pros: Great value
Comment:
This case works great. placing a hard drive in was very easy, and the instructions were clear. Comes with an Esata cable and a USB cable. The only complaint I have is the way the Powe plug is designed. It is big and awkward that it takes up more than one space on a power bar.. other than that, great product.

Cons: Poor quality control

Pros: Nice looking aluminum case
Comment:
Works nicely via usb, haven't tried esata yet. Way too much epoxy applied that holds led cable in place inside the chassis. Had to snip away the excess otherwise the 3.5" HDD wouldn't slide into the chassis at all.

Cons: Fairly warm, huge AC plug

Pros: Quiet, great price, sleek
Comment:
So far so good, paired this up with a 2TB green caviar and its doing its job. Pretty darn silent, nice design...only complaint is that it gets warm so fast (even in the vertical position). Get decent speed with the eSata cable but can't complain for $20.

Cons: -no USB 3.0 but that's overtly advertised-adapter terminal too clunky

Pros: -cheap (19.99 on sale)-eSATA wicked fast-keeps cool-quick to assemble
Comment:
At 19.99 you can't go wrong. It has a bumpy texture so it doesn't succumb to fingerprint stains as my other Vantec smooth mirror metal enclosure. Vantec is quickly responsive, I will never by a pre-assembled hard drive - my pre-assembled ones have an issue of slowing down or spinning un-necessarily. I can't describe  its function more than 'clean' and 'smooth' - though this may be a property of Western Digital drives. This thing keeps cool but I am using a Western Digital Green...I regret not buying more of these enclosures. It comes with a USB and eSATA cable.

Cons: high failure rate (2/5)

Pros: Nice looks, cool. Power Connector is pretty generic.
Comment:
I've had 4 of these. 1 was past RMA/warranty and the other was not. I bought another to replace failed keep all my drives the same. I'm not sure if would by again at with 2/5 failing within 12 months (note they are transferred in a padded case once a month for backups, so not abused). I like vantec so would probably try one more time.

Cons: Spin down configuration required a bit of finicking

Pros: Decent constructionPrice
Comment:
Bought this unit to clone my iMac onto a new WD Caviar Black hard drive so I could install that onto the iMac. Worked well enough, no complaints. I had it connected to my PC, the eSATA connection works great with transfer speeds at what you would expect. The drive is not configured to spin down by default but a configuration utility (Windows only) is available, although the instructions aren't quite clear, I got it to spin down just fine without it disappearing from my computer (make sure Power Management and Power Control is unchecked). Overall a good investment.

Cons: Cheap product raises concerns over product reliability

Pros: Cheap on sale, works
Comment:
It's a cheap enclosure. Parents needed a backup solution for their mac. Put in a 1TB HD, plugged it in, and OSX used it for time machine automagically. What else can I ask for. Only 4 stars cause it's not exactly an amazing/mind blowing product, but I wouldn't hesitate to grab another one if it was the cheapest product next time I need an enclosure.

Cons: -Either screws or hole not threaded properly-Bright LED

Pros: -Looks good-Well built-eSata-Power button, not switch-Price
Comment:
In almost every way, this is a great product. However, I find the LED way to bright and distracting, and on my unit both of the screws that attach the slide-in panel to the rest of the enclosure wouldn't screw all the way down and required an inordinate amount of force. That's the only reason why I'm docking a star.
