Cons:
* Awful GUI* 10/100 ethernet port*cannot decode AAC other than stereo
Pros: *plays a lot of file formats* bitstream HD audio to home AVR* allows 2TB of internal storage*great customer service*USB connection to external hard drive Comment:
I got this on sale for 160 dollars with a 1TB hard drive included. It's probably going to be a similar deal in one of the NCIX promotions. This player will play just about everything (*.iso, .mkv,etc). One neat feature this player has is its ability to send unaltered audio to a home AVR. So if you have the luxury of having receiver and you have a file with DTSHD or Dolby Digital HD, then this the best player on the market. Furthermore, it allows for internal storage which is uncommon at this price. The player reads NTFS perfectly. The major downside of this product is its 10/100 ethernet port. It makes little sense considering many will be streaming off their home PCs or NAS devices. It's probably best to stick to the internal storage or an external hard drive. I should point out that this device cannot decode AAC audio other than stereo PCM (decoded). Most AVRs cannot decode bitsream (not decoded) AAC files. this is a major pain for audio files with AAC as you won't get surround sound. You're going to have to convert the AAC audio to AC3 audio. Then the device is fine. |

Cons:
have to remove Fusions cover to swap harddrives.(not a huge deal)No native support for netflix(have to use playon)no gigabit port
Pros: Plays without any hiccupsworks as network attached storage NAS, so i can play stuff off it it onto my computer in another room.Tech support from nixeus was very helpfull and FASTPretty slick user interfaceSupports blueray iso's and every other format ive tried with it.easy set up Comment:
Bought the Fusion about a month ago for my main television. Setting up the network was pretty easy. Plugged in a 2tb harddrive and started loading my files onto it. I liked the fusions looks much more than boxee and it had the built in hard drive which are cheaper than external drives right now.The only problem was the USB dongle that came with the fusion, it was a little loose and wouldn't stand up straight. I just called them and told them about it. they sent me one straight away. They also directed me to their forum on the nixeus site which has a bunch of tips and other users. |

Cons:
Network shares are non functional for my network. Interface crashes. AV port for RCA cables is poor.
Pros: Wireless is convenient. Size is nice and small. Supports internal 3.5 SATA 2TB hard drive. Comment:
I spent the majority of my day wasting time trying to get this thing to work properly with my windows xp network shares, which have not yet worked. There are firmware updates on the manufacturer's website, but they don't work properly either. I'm just installing the beta firmware from their forums, but at this point, the product fails to live up to its claimed ease of use and features. |
So far this media player works great.. it play anything i dumped into it.. I can even play 44G of blue ray quality concert that my I3 desktop can't handle.. Their tech support is great and awesome.. like the other review said, they even called me to back to confirm the problem resolved
