I decided to buy this as a temp replacement for my old gaming PC. I use a keyboard, mouse and monitor. I am very surprised on how its how it is holding up to some of these games. DayZ standalone and Arma 3 run alot better than I thought. Very playable. Even in cities there are no hardcore FPS drops that others are experiencing CSGO runs at 150+ fpsCiv 5 runs super smooth.Im guessing that it wont have problems with most games.The 5400 RPM HDD is noticable in Windows but its not that bad. If you use alot of programs that would benefit from an SSD then I would recommend getting one. It looks like it would be simple to install. This "temporary" replacement may not be temporary now, I am very happy with its performance, and for the price it is definitely worth it

For the price this Acer is packing alot and you get alot of bang for your buck. The internal components are all very good, the only thing thats really missing is a SSD, but even that is optional. The battery can last up to 4 hours for office work or just browsing the net or using non intensive programs like MS Word. Most of the games that I play on it (Civ 5, CS:GO) can be played on max settings without stutter or massive framerate drop. The one thing that did annoy me though is that the caplock and numlock did not have a light indicator to show if they are on or off.Other than that, its an incredible for the price and definitely recommend for those that dont want to spend more than 1,100 on a laptop.

Even though classified as a "Gaming" laptop, this model certainly lacks many features found in other higher priced competitors (lit-up keyboard, better sound system, better cooling solution, better body material).However this shortcoming is also its greatest strength; you get decent performance and spec with much cheaper price, compared to models of similar setup.The 4th gen i7 and GTX 760M do make up its lack of features; this version of i7 got 4 cores (Q variant) plus 4 more threads, and it has 10 watt less TDP (37W vs 47W) than most of other quad core i7 variants , meaning it generates less heat when running high load,while still delivers high performance.(with average of only 0.2 to 0.5 GHz lower max speed compared other high power Q variants)The GTX 760M GPU delivers when you need it to, you can easily check the benchmarks online, and it has decent performance for most modern tittles (smooth running at mid-high setting range). It does run hot when gaming or running applications that the integrated GPU can't handle, but the fan does its job well while keeps the noise low.Overall this laptop is most suitable for non-hardcore gaming, and multi-media tasks. The slow hard drive can be easily upgraded to SSD or hybrid drives, and memory expansion leaves much headroom for future applications.Once again you are paying less to get equal, if not more performance and spec compared to other similar "gaming" laptops. With its powerful CPU and decent GPU, plus multiple expansion slots, this laptop can last for years with just a few component upgrades.
