I wish I would have bought the 60GB drive. Win 7 is 9GB, One large game and page file and its full. BUT ... from hitting restart (with things open) to a full shut down reboot to the Ctr-Alt-Del login.... About 15 seconds

beware of the $30 dollar rebate from this company. i was just informed my rebate was denied due to the lack of a upc barcode. unfortunately i did not make a copy of the form i mailed to them; therefore i have no proof of purchase. being they have the barcode (proof of purchase)in their possession i will probably never see the rebate. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH OCZ AGAIN!!!!!!

Although not that fast as I expected, it's currently one of the most affoardable SSD's. Nice choice for a system drive.

Cons: none so far

Pros: great product

Using it very often now in a raid systsm with 3 solid state disks. Works great and is extremely fast with 3 disks in Raid 0 as its setup.

Cons: 30GB (32GB really) is pushing it for even a boot drive.

Pros: Fantastic hard drive - the Vertex is super fast for Reads and Writes. Achieve

This is a fantastic hard drive that makes a great entry drive for SSD. It's a shame that TRIM currently isn't supported in RAID because 30GB just isn't enough for me, even for a boot drive. The problem is that with any SSD, you want to leave about 10-20% of the drive free or read and especially write speeds suffer. I found that, even with tweaks, I only had about 6 GB free; a little too close to full for comfort.

Everything went so smooth with this drive I call it the smooth criminal. It shipped with the newest firmware 1.5 so I didn't have to update. Installed in AHCI and have win7 64 bit running with office and some misc programs. Even with the 8gb page file I left on I still have about 9gb free. I store all my movies backups and music on my other 1tb hard drive. I'm VERY happy with this purchase. Oh btw i have a wei of 6.8 which is great but I have seen on the forums people get it around 7.3. I have to do some tweaking or something. Just hope the rebate goes through just as smooth

Cons: Besides high price per GB, nothing

Pros: Awesome Fast SSD.Had $30 rebate, received in 4 weeksExcellent price compared to other retailersLives up to Speeds in specsOne of the BEST SSD drives out there. Best Bang for Buck.
Comment:
I've check out a bunch of SSD drives and OCZ seems to have the best bang per buck. Other vendors are somewhat on par on price, but way less on performance. Some even have similar Read speeds, but having only 40mb/s for write like that low end Intel one is a joke. Come on. This will change your computer usage. Also picked up the Agility 30GB to test that out. Almost as good as this. Spend the extra ten bucks and get the Vertex.

When we first purchased this drive it proved to be exceptional. We teamed it up with a 250gb barracuda and moved all the download and system page file to it to minimize read write functions. All it had to do was support the os and program files. last friday we started having issues. following factory proceedure with a sanitary erase, made things worse, and a firmware update did nothing. just under 1200hrs runtime and essentially its a paperweight. considering we use these in high multitasking work environment, i cannot trust it anymore. it won the sprint but not the endurance. never again. not worth the money.

I only gave value a 3 because its still expensive per gb. It supports TRIM and has a 64mb cache which is important to keeping the speed. Its not the fastest SSD but its one of the the most affordable. It didn't come with any mounting hardware, so make sure you have a 2.5 bay in your case or you get an adapter. Win7 installed in like 10 mins with no problems whatsoever. Simple and easy. It boots to desktop in under 25 seconds, and as soon as you click

Bought two of these puppies to put in my rig in RAID 0 Configuration and WOW....logging into windows (and i have a lot of programs that boot up with windows) and with 7 seconds everything is fully loaded. Love them! getting about 450+ MB/S read with the Raid 0 set up.

Overall performance was slower than a solid 7200rpm Barracuda drive. Win7 reported the exp at a 5.4, the Barracuda at 5.9. Fresh installs of Win7 ultimate booted within a couple seconds for both the SSD and Barracuda. So I returned it and saved the $100 and got alot more space.

I purchased 2 30gb ssds with the intention of running in striped array. I have corsair 30s that are giving me 330mb read performance. I configured the ocz as a striped array no problem. Restored my windows 7 professional image copy. Can't boot machine blue screen. Looked on ocz support site. The recommendations including the following: Disable oc'ing Run single disk arrays Hopefully these disks turn out to be the best thing since sliced bread, because otherwise I will stick with my corsairs

I snapped up a terrific deal on this Vertex solid-state hard drive. After experiencing a 12 minute Windows 7 Professional install, I was pumped and ready for more! I am running a Core2 Quad at 3GHz with 6 GB DDR3 and can now see the benefit of that investment. If you want the most observable performance improvement for the money, go with a Vertex.

Bought this to pop into my netbook. That little thing is monster fast right now. All my main things are saved on the SSD and the rest is saved on a storage card to try and keep as much free space as I can. Right now only using 50% of the drive.Boots and Windows 7 is ready to use in 25 seconds. Very pleased with the performance!

This solid state drive by OCZ works fine. Just have the OS and programs I use filled to 25G leaving over 5G free. That's all I need. Use other conventional HD for storing movies, photos, mp3s The drive connected to the SATA connections on the MB easily and I noticed an improvement in speed. Boots in 1 minute, but I use the sleep mode and turning on is nearly instant.

I am a beginner in the PC world but the Power savings and the NO noise level are well worth to try the OCZ SSSD.It performed perfect on XP OS.Not so well on W7.Beta.It has a fast Defrag but I was told not to do it to often. You can do a lot more in a lot less time with this OCZ Product. And by the way this retailer. is the very best.REINER

Got 2 for a RAID0 setup. Very fast and responsive. SSDs are still for tweakers though. Read up on the OCZ forums before you get them. Due to the 10,000 write lifetime and the fact that they get slower after use (manufacturers are trying to fix this) I'd recommend using a RAM drive with this for temp/log files, pagefile, etc.

I'm using one of these in a Dell M1210 laptop (12" screen, Intel T7200 processor, 4GB ram). I made the mistake when I bought the computer of getting a 7200rpm hard drive, which lead to a good bit of extra heat. This drive more or less made my M1210 run like a new computer. It is now totally silent, consumes less battery power and is FAST! Boot times are 1/4 what they were, and applications load almost instantly.

love these SSD's for their performance and I would've went for the 60 gig version but the price was a bit to high~ Put together a i7 machine w/ Vista Ultimate x64 and boot speeds are amazing.
