Quick boot time when I will need to shutdown and restart in a different place. Utilized on a Lenovo T61. Repsonse time of the laptop improved greatly with all application usages. The 3.5 bracket does not have sides. Just a plate with attachment for two.five. But not a major deal for me. I did not will need it. $$ - but a great buy with the 3 yr warranty. I do advocate this SSD. If your time is precious, a SSD is the way to go for speed.

Quick. Constant crashes, drive intermittently not detected by BIOS. Took several hours of updating firmware and operating tests to figure out the drive was negative. High-priced. Tried to RMA the drive, but Newegg refused to replace the faulty device mainly because I'd removed the UPC code for mail in rebate. Not only do I Still not have a operating drive, I'm also out of pocket for shipping.Negative experience all round. For this sort of cash, I expect Considerably far better. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are incredibly sorry for the troubles and the inconvenience. Please check out the hyperlink below and make a support ticket to initiate the RMA approach for a replacement drive. We will be happy to assist you. Rapidly, Huge IMPROVEMENT IN BOOT Instances. Loaded W-7 Pro 64 in 20 minutes. Have 2 Samsung 750 GB HDD in Raid . W-7 Score went from 5.9 to 7.eight Good worth based on similar SSD's. Had latest updates installed. Basically a plug and play three.five inch adaptor required slight modification to perform. I had to file the tabs on the drive cage retainer clips to fit the adaptor. This took longer that the rest on the install. This drive is based on new 25Nm architecture (hence 160 GB from 128) There could be some much more controller revisions to come. Installed on an Asus P6T Deluxe board (bios 2101) operating a Core I-7 920 @ 3600 MHz 12 GB 1600 Kingston @ 1523 MHz. Corsiar H70 liquid cooled , HIS HD 4670 GPU (soon to be XFX HD 5850) Thermalake TX750 PSU. Raidmax tower W/ 4 aux fans

They meet their advertised specs. We have 4x in an Areca PCIe x8 RAID controller in a RAID- ƔK stripe) array. General create times (along the lines of Linux kernel builds) are 35% more rapidly than with 2x RAID-1 ƒT) WD Caviars. Builds are create-intensive, and that isn't an SSD's strong suit, and the builds chew up a fair amount of CPU time (and faster disks won't aid that) -- we're satisfied with the result. Ɠ stars due to 1 out of 6 DOA)We bought four for a development server. A single was DOA (wasn't recognized by the BIOS). Due to the fact we were in a hurry, we ordered an additional overnight, although the RMA paper operate went back and forth. The RMA was handled efficiently. Now we have a spare. Given our reliability issues, we tried RAID-5 ƓƯ), but the construct occasions have been ᡪ% slower. Considering that this is a improvement machine, and not "mission crucial" we decided to hang onto a spare, and up the ante on periodic rsync'd backups to a RAID-ed HDD. We followed the rec's on various tech. forums and tweaked the file technique for greater SSD behavior: 1. ext4 with logging disabled two. access occasions disabled three. disk scheduler = noop and four. /tmp -> tmpfs. At some point, we will attempt and move /var to tmpfs as well but that demands some operate on init scripts. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the dilemma with the drive, and are pleased that your create has gone so effectively. If we can be of any help, our knowledgeable forum staff will be pleased to support. Thank youExternal Link(s): OCZ Help Forums|

This drive was a breeze to install and load Windows 7 onto. I can't believe how rapidly my program powers on and off now. Powering off takes about four seconds! Any system you install on this opens up in 1 or 2 seconds. Internet Explorer would usually take ten or additional seconds to load soon after turning on personal computer. Now it 1-two seconds! Adore it Expense Will only be employing SSD from now on

Quite quickly, effortless to install, bracket offered. Did I mention Rapidly?!! Price perhaps for MLC, it's pretty much as high-priced as entry level RevoDrive but it has the benefit of ease of installation. My Pc boots Win 7 x64 in about ten seconds, what else can I say.

Very quickly drive when it worked. Died at about the sixth month mark. Computer's BIOS no longer sees the drive. Contacted OCZ to RMA the drive and haven't gotten a response to my ticket. When I acquire one more SSD, it won't be OCZ. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are incredibly sorry for the dilemma. Our support staff will be with you, and will see that your drive is replaced. Drive seemed amazingly rapid when it worked Soon after 1 week of operation, drive started to show symptoms of failure noted on many of the OCZ forums. Blinking cursor following POST upon bootup. Then, drive completely died and was no longer detected in BIOS. I attempted emailing OCZ forums and talked about that my symptoms are identical to those of others on some of the forum threads. Seems OCZ Vertex 2 SSD's have difficulty with this certain model of Dell laptops. Interestingly, I under no circumstances heard back from OCZ.I RMA'd the drive to NewEgg (great client service!) and they gave me a refund. Now, I am on the hunt for a SSD that with much less reported troubles with my Dell E6410. Any suggestions are hugely appreciated! I will now start my search for a replacement Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the difficulty, and any email problems that you have had. We wish you effectively. Thank you

Rapidly Set up of Hardware. Created Software Set up Speed Bearable. Blazing Fast Computer software Speeds. Perceived Threat of DOA and Death Inside 1st Week. OCZ ought to supply a get back program for old drives, or Newegg need to combo this with an external HDD enclosure to use as a backup drive.Incidentally, even though I acquire 95% or much more of my gear by Newegg, I had to pickup this one through yet another web page because the Newegg coupoin wasn't operating. With the ฤ Visa Card bumpback, my AMEX Rewards, and Cost-free Shipping, I nailed this a single for 趥.00.Manufacturers: Do not develop with regular drives anymore. This is a essential improvement for overal computing and the progress of man.

Good and quick. No performance concerns at all, and when it operates it boots up into windows NOW and is pretty great. Also some excellent capacity, as 128Gb is a bit too tiny for what I needed, the 160GB gives some good headroom. The rest of the time its busy causing BSODs, crashing the technique, or not becoming detected. The firmware on the drive is about as half baked as you can get. This is my 8th SSD (Others are from Intel, Critical, Corsair, and some older OCZ). This is bar none the worst drive I've ever employed. It took me a while to ID if the machine had concerns or if the drive did. But in the finish the drive is a failure. On cold start off up, the machine is not detected about 30% of the time. A fast power cycle is required to get it back to life. If you sleep/resume your program, about 50% of the time it will outcome in a BSOD and losing all your perform. From reading the consumer assistance forums at OCZ its clear this is a wide spread concern as many men and women are reporting this now.The drive is at the existing firmware Ƒ.29) and nevertheless sucks.I personal a different Sandforce based SSD and it operates perfectly (from Corsair), so this is deffinitely a failure in OCZ's QC of their firmware. My machine is a new SNB based H67 chipset machine, the drive is on the 6gb SATA channel so no CP chipset error causing the matter. No overclock, all stock. If I could return this to NewEgg I would in a heart beat and get an Intel 510 or some other SSD that just works... its pointless to have a rapid drive if it crashes your rig, and loses your information. I didnt want to devote 跌 if I wanted a barely functional item...OCZ Repair your drives! Manufacturer Response:Hello, we suspect you have a faulty drive, and aplogize for the difficulties. Simple to install, Lightning rapid I/O Cost but worth it if you can afford it. I have been wanting a single of these drives for a extended time and was waiting for the value to drop. My boot times on Windows 7 went from more than a minute to about 30 seconds. All of my applications load lightning quick! This is an amazing item.

Rapid boot up from start out up (about 17 seconds to get to windows home screen) Worked for two days... Was good when it was operating. The drive posted an orange color light when it stopped operating. At the moment have a RMA with Newegg for a new 1. Hopefully the new 1 will last longer than 2 days. I like the speed supplied by SSD's but if this failure occurs again, I will have to reconsider the purchase of an SSD for future builds. Perhaps these need to be QC'd better as it seems this failure is not uncommon.

I purchased this drive to replace two of the first gen Vertex 30 gig drives I had running in raid . Raid doesn't pass along the automatic trim command in windows 7, so even though the performance was amazing, I wanted a drive that maxes out Sata2 in my desktop and can move to a laptop later in its life. No cons, OCZ began including the 3.five" to two.5" adapter a although ago, so that's superior. 7.6 in the Windows Encounter Index, instantaneous program launches. I'm glad I lastly have a significant enough C drive to enjoy ssd speeds for all of my files and not just my OS plus a game and office. Anybody on the fence about purchasing ssd's actually needs to just invest the 跌 and get this extremely good drive. Once you have ssd's you'll in no way go back. Also, if you were on a raid like me, dumping your old vertex 1 drives in to a netbook makes the factor really beneficial, I can take my netbook to lab with me and from the time it wakes up to when excel and workplace are both open ready to go is much less than three seconds... as opposed to like a complete minute with the older 5400rpm drive.

Dropped in HP DV6 laptop that was running a bit slow of 5400 RPM OEM disk. Incredible jump in performance that is particularly noticeable at boot and surfing with tons of pages. None so for This is the 5th SSD I have installed. All other Corsair. This was an easier drop-in with similar efficiency. Have not put benchmarks too it but in real life situations this is an incredible upgrade.

I installed this in my 13" macbook pro (mid 2010 version). I employed carbon copy cloner and cloned the existing drive to the SSD. Installed the new one and I was carried out. I now boot up in about 16 seconds. I can click every icon on my dock and launch applications in less than three seconds with just about every app. iTunes, Photoshop, Outlook, Word, you name it will load in or below three seconds. This takes alot of frustration out of working with a computer. costly but worth it. Big improvement, costly cost per gigabyte.

Really rapidly drive, when it isn't failing. Despite the fact that listed as Mac Compatible, I've had sporadic issues with 2010 Macbook Pro 13" and waking from sleep. Tried various combinations of sms/hibernatemode, etc. to no avail. Can't return the drive, so I'm stuck with a quite light doorstop. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the difficulties.
