Fast drive, four sandforce controllers of 37GB every single in R0. This point is a nightmare to get working. Search the OCZ forums, I spent way longer than I thought on this. The main challenge I had was that windows, by default, enabled energy saving on the PCIE slot. So as soon as you set up (this takes a couple of tries on the "configuring your laptop" step simply because it locks up) you have to boot into safe mode and run powercfg.cpl and turn off the PCIE power saving. (This all could be avoided if OCZ had an optional power connector on the PCB, sigh)OCZ can't commit the 50c on supplying the drivers for this on a CD? A different concern, but windows set up associated, is that windows offers you no indication soon after placing in the CD for the drivers that you need to have to place the windows DVD back in. The error generated doesn't tell you something that tends to make it obvious that this is the option.

Click on a document icon and it *instantly* appears on your screen. No humanly measurable lag. Two troubles:Ƒ) not fully compatible with all motherboard BIOS'es - in my Asus P6X58D, I had the option of losing RAID functionality in the majorƓGB/s) SATA controller -OR- losing the 6Gb SATA controller altogether. Trolling the OCZ forums ahead of time, I was conscious of the issue. ƒ) Runs fairly warm. In my water cooled technique, it's about the only thing generating heat - worried me enough that I placed the only fan in my method such that it blows suitable more than the device. (Noise is an issue fo me - the liquid cooling pipes to a radiator outside the area) I did *not* do a clean install to this device, I mirrored an already current SDD to it and had ZERO difficulties rebooting via the device. The bios compatiblity dilemma is not actually OCZ's fault. to have to deal with the miriad of BIOS flavors out there is not reasonable. On the other hand, purchaser beware - study the ocz forums. Some sort of thermal management constructed onto the device would be good. A set of heat pipes to a heatsink exactly where a liquid cooling block could be attached probably?

rapid when functioning appropriately. Their help is horrible. Even on their forum, there's a rule exactly where they will only respond to you a handful of occasions. Its actually listed. I had one particular response from their employees stating, "Is the drive connected to one of the Intel SATA ports and that port set to hot-swappable in the BIOS?" that's it. I asked him other questions but it was completely ignored. generating a ticket also was a discomfort. I finally identified the answer to my difficulty myself. Search: Error 0x80070057 when installing windows 7 64 biton their forum for my post. The forum customers helped more the their staff.Do not purchase from this organization, you will regret it. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you have had issues. Our forums help employees is there to aid, and ought to be available to answer any and all queries. This is the quickest drive on the market when I purchased it, but that is the ONLY great point I have to say about this business. The drive is Very finicky. I had troubles through installation. The lack of any credible tech help was thoughts boggling. For all intents and purposes, If you assume you may well ever want enable,DO NOT Get THIS DRIVE. You may possibly need to have tech support and you will not receive any.The only way this organization handles tech help is by means of E-Mail. That's correct!! Their self stated SLA for service is 24 hours. Imagine getting a issue and possessing to communicate by means of e-mail and taking 24 hours to get back to you every single time. After spending a day researching the issue myself, I identified a forum that stated this is a known issue and there was a incredibly simple fix. But no one particular at OCZ ever figured this out. This is the 1st time I have ever written a critique but had such MUNUMENALLY Poor Assistance, I believed you should know.I have worked for numerous tech businesses and know what to anticipate from Tech Help is not usually the greatest, but you can at least get a person on the telephone to talk with you. Even immediately after continued requests they would not communicate with me by telephone. I also requested a manger contact me back and was told he would, but didn't. I would never obtain a different item from OCZ in my lifetime. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are extremely sorry for the troubles. We have our personal OCZ help forums where you can discover a wealth of information, and get significantly faster help. You will come across a link to the forums beneath, and on our support page. We do supply phone support as nicely, although when all techs are busy it can be restricted. Thank youExternal Link(s): OCZ Support Forums| OCZ Help Web page|

Installation was quickly and easy. It's a lot quicker putting in a element into a PCI-E slot than a drive bay. Not needing an interface cable is icing on the cake. I disable disk sleep timers in my builds anyway so never ever skilled talked about sleep troubles. OS install took minutes and everything screams. Most apps are finished launching by the time I'm carried out clicking. The exception are big photo and graphic apps that still fire up about three to four occasions more quickly than they did from spinning disks. As a beyond practical use test I ran a Security Essentials, Malware Bytes, and Spybot S&D complete scans simultaneously and was still in a position to use a range of applications with no evident lag. No documentation I've identified points to a drive activity LED jumper on the card. Although the card does have access indication lights on the PCB, I'd like to be in a position to see that indication on my machine case.Oh - Absolutely not a fault with this product but - it makes my other machine with a striped pair of WD Velociraptors appear type of "laggy" If you don't know what "F6 driver installation" suggests then you need to almost certainly seek support. Anybody with 2 cents worth of IT expertise can speak you via this in minutes.Folks complaining about the lack of installation media - effectively folks that use the drivers that ship with hardware rather of downloading present versions from the manufacturers are noobs. Also - For these complaining about Win7 Installation sizes and SSD drive expenses - I have Win7 64 Bit SP1, Office Pro 2010, Adobe CS5 Style Premium, and a few other significant applications set up and only taking up about 28 Gig. A lot of spare room on this 160 Gig drive. Suggestions - Turn off hibernation (powercfg.exe -h off), Get enough RAM to allow you bring the web page file down to about 1 gig, following SP1 run the image cleanup utility (dism /online /cleanup-image /spsuperseded) to get rid of the pre SP1 backup files.

Effortless Set upAdequate Space for OS and GamesBlisteringly Rapidly Had to configure PCI Express slots to 16ǞǞCostIt makes my C300 weep I installed the drive in the third slot my ASUS P6X58D Premium. The board recognized it appropriate away. I did a clean set up of Win7 64-bit Ultimate with drivers downloaded from OCZ's internet site popped onto a USB drive. I upgraded from a C300 using the onboard SATA 3 controller, but the firmware 006 stuttering problems were also a lot. Yes the drive is high-priced, but I have yet to discover anything that will slow it down. Bootups are noticeably faster than the Essential item even.

really rapid, uncomplicated to install with most up-to-date bios and it can be bootable expense but it worth it when i load this pci-e ssd notice that when i play on the web game there alot much less lag(almost cant see it) evaluate to my old hhd, and application install and load alot quicker too it a very superior obtain

Extremely-really fast boot instances; easy hardware installation (no cables)Windows Experience Index for this SSD is 7.9 (the highest it goes)Atto Disk benchmark reaches 600 MB/s writes and a lot more than 735 MB/s reads !!! Installation can be tricky for a PCI-E SSD as a boot disk: turn off Windows 7’s PCI-e Link State energy management to prevent the OS from shutting down the drive even though in use Other tweaks you might want to attempt (I'm nevertheless experimenting):- Enable write caching- Disable indexing of the Revo (no benefit?)- Disable defragmentation of the Revo (not essential)- Disable Superfetch (no benefit?)- Disable Prefetch (no benefit?)

Rapidly, Easy install None I personal the 256 gig version but would like to comment on the complaints about the lack of an install CD. This complaint is actually baseless as by downloading a driver you get the most up-to-date version and, More IMPORTANTLY, the install is accomplished a lot far better from a flash drive copy of Windows 7 with the driver on the flash drive. This makes it a very rapidly 1 step course of action as Windows 7 prompts you for the driver and then resumes the install.

Rapidly, rapidly and rapidly. Straightforward install. None Tech challenged buddy got 1, I installed it for him and then I got one when I saw how it performed. Typical issue I always do before doing any installs is go to the makers web web-site to be sure I have the most up-to-date drivers. The power saving issue was not a difficulty I saw since I shut all that down on my main desktop anyway and believed of it on my buddy's method considering that it is a PCI-E device. I guess 37 years in electronics assists.

Quick. This is like Internet, LCDs, and Chocolate. You didn't think it would be great till you attempted it! Then, you couldn't live with out it. OS settings have to be watched closely! I saw quite a few locations where "Windows 7 is SSD Optimized." This doesn't mean you can skip configurations and still steer clear of trouble. Stick to OCZ's SSD ABC Guide on their forums. Reading the consumer reviews right here on NEWEGG helped guide me in the correct direction far more than something else. I am confident the price tag of these things will fall in the future; but, I am not searching back! I adore this factor! I bought: ASUS Sabertooth X58, 12GB G-Skills Tri-channel Memory Kit, ASUS ENGTS450 Video Card, i7 960 LGA1366 CPU, and Win7Pro. All operates nicely together! I installed the OS making use of a thumb drive, rather of the DVD installation media, in below 8 minutes! Search the internet for: "install windows 7 by way of flash drive"

It was definitely straightforward to install this drive to my Asus P6T Deluxe mobo. Just downloaded the 64bit drivers from ocz website and loaded drivers when installing windows 7. Easy! Its actually quick, loads every thing quick, just make sure to disable power savings on the pci express under power selections so you dont have any crashes. I'm coming from a ocz vertex 1 and this is a lot quicker with installs/uninstalls.If your thinking about purchasing this, i would absolutely advocate it. None Just Buy it! I'm a gamer and this factor screams when loading games. Nicely worth it.

install was painless. directions included told the story. clean win7 install for me. drivers have to downloaded from ocz internet site initial prior to install onto a jumpdrive. old hd is now the backup drive which takes no time to make. doesn't cure back pain. have to upgrade from 3. dsl to 15m cable for vevo and youtube. DANG!!! also require to tell windows energy section to not turn off tough disks or machine hardlocks when time is up. 7.9 windows rating. now my amd 3.four black is the slowest device at 7.four . also raised graphics ratings from 7.four to 7.five .

As advertised, this drive is super quick. I use it to load graphics and gaming software since I am presently unable to use it as a boot drive. Read your Motherboard support carefully. ASUS CROSSHAIR IV EXTREME does not support PCI-E boot and ASUS support is NON-EXISTENT. OCZ Support delivers a useful forum with doable work-arounds for PCI-E booting... I ordered my Mobo after a couple of posts offered hopeful signs, but located the OCZ list of NON-SUPPORTED MOBOS soon after I had already seated the Crosshair into the case.

Does as advertised.SUPER Quick.made me no-longer really feel poor about how a lot $$ I'd spent on my i7 machine. previous to this install it didn't really feel any quicker than my old AMD Phenom II machine for typical usage/prog installs..... until now.photoshop CS5 64bit complete load time from click to open = 2.5 secs.AutoCAD2010 = 7.5secsall your other programs like firefox/word/excel...and so on open as quickly as you can click them.windows 7 updates = WAYYYYYYY faster to install, and the computer system in no way takes forever to shut down.I finally feel like my computer system is running at maximum capacity... as there is now no weak link in the chain to bottleneck speed across the program. - Price. (but we already knew that)- make sure your motherboard is on the capability list.- unplug ALL other difficult-drives in your method B4 installing as your major boot/OS drive. If you don't, no matter what you do, Win7 will install the 100mb MBR boot partition on a different drive.- it's next to impossible to get a win7 img created from windows backup to do the initial install on this drive do to the SIL drivers. just Accept that 99% of men and women out there are going to have to just bite the bullet and do a clean install. - this would be 5 eggs if the cost wasn't so high.- if you choose to do a win backup image right after you get your technique setup correctly, you may possibly locate that you must 1st have to format the drive and load win7 from the dvd clean, then immediately after there's a win install on the drive with the sil and raid drivers, you may possibly then reload you WIN IMG.i7 930@ three.65GhzGigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R6GB DDR3 @ 2000MhzXFX 5850

Quick installsRapidly bootsQuietuncomplicated to install (depends on motherboard) - Takes up a PCIx4 slot and above if you dont have an x4 slot- calls for a driver to install (not genuinely a con unless your lazy)- can make your graphics card hot if you location it beside the actual graphics card rather of subsequent to the heatsink. Takes 6 seconds to have windows fully loaded from bios.Just take a second and believe about that final statement.Ok continuing, the drivers dont come with the hard drive but are simply accessed on ozc site. I like it superior that way since they are constantly updating it due to some motherboards having compatibility problems and performance updates. You have to be considerate where you spot the drive if you have a graphics card that generates high amounts of heat. This doesnt have a heatsink fan and the idle temperature runs at 30C so even then that can trigger an improve in heat on your graphics card if you have the drive placed subsequent to the pcboard side of the graphics card. I reccommend placing the challenging drive subsequent to the heatsink so your graphics card doesnt cry when playing games. Also a shoutout to ocz, for future reference when designing the card please believe of a cooling solution considering that this does sit subsequent to a high heat emitting device.

Rapidly, Fast, and Super Quickly. Great packaging. like assessment before, windows 7 will turn off pcie off to save power. So you have to turn it off. On the other hand, your program will like to crash throughout first boot up due to power saving. When you get it set up. Log in win 7 in secure mode and turn the energy saving off. Every thing will work fine following that. For the cost I paid, it did not meet my expectation. I can\'t believe they don't consist of the driver disk for 躲. The instruction is useless. So I dont know what the other reviewer is talking about. It just tell you to go on the net get drive and install it. No troubleshooting guide.
