Extremely rapid. I use it in analyzing and forecasting for solution merchandising. Generally, appear at product and category history for 600 retailers with 60 SKUs as nicely as other elements to purchase, manufacture and distribute for a incredibly seasonal enterprise.Major files. Compressed on disk, 20 MB in Excel 2007 is a smaller file. 100 MB is widespread. Opening and saving files is a considerable waste of time. Considering that Excel 2007 is multistringed, I continually redline my six-core, 12-string pc.My residence computer is an i7-920 make with an OCZ Vertex 2 120 GB SSD as boot drive, and I also use it as a information drive for perform files, despite the fact that not for personal files. My work pc is noticeably more quickly in each calculation (i7-980X vs i7-920, exact same RAM) and opening, closing and saving files (Revodrive X2 vs Vertex 2 SSD).Access 2007 also tends to make significant use of the faster information retrieval of the Revodrive X2 vs. an HDD utilizing its single string . 輮, now 軙 I don't feel I'd install any SSD now as a boot drive. It turns out that firmware updates are more frequent for SSDs than HDDs, and firmware can't be updated on a boot drive. At least, OCZ doesn't do that but. This is a difficulty for my household computer with a Vertex two.

Really Quick Installed with out any issue, but in a single day it gave me a blue screen of death. CheckDisk finds a lot of negative sectors. Reformatted and reinstalled Windows. In 3 days yet another crash. Asked for a replacement. Got it, and with the second drive the identical story. Functions for 1-2 days then crashes without any visible explanation. I'm waiting for a replacement once again. It is extremely unfriendly with Acronis. In order to produce an image of the OS partition I have to disconnect the other drives (SATA).I'm really frustrated with the item as well as with the NewEgg return policy for it. It looks like NewEgg knows about really poor excellent of this drive and doesn't guarantee refund. I would'n recommend to purchase it, at least from NewEgg.

Really quick, Very good cost per GB for an SSD Won't install with early versions of Windows 7 install discs. I've had this drive for about a month now and it has performed good. The speed is amazing. I currently had a sturdy personal computer and new my hdd was my bottle neck. Putting this drive in, my cold boot to Windows 7 desktop requires about 12 - 15 seconds.Plan load occasions are vastly enhanced, and game hdd loads blaze.I'm really impressed with the functionality of this drive, and I in fact like the PCI-Express aspect of it, since it leaves my SATA ports open for far more information storage drives.

I've under no circumstances written a review on a item prior to, but this is the single very best upgrade I have ever produced to a computer. Setup could be less complicated. Had to manually load drivers on windows set up and update bios. This isn't OCZs fault, but REVO isn't being utilised in a vacuum.

Essentially installation was a smooth. Worked immediately with no glitches. The extreme quietness is a dream come true! The light speed velocity is as dramatic as riding a wild roller coaster the initial time. Even after a month, I am nevertheless thrilled and amazed by the speed and quiet. The blinking blue LED's signaling activity operation are trick. I installed the operating method on it and Windoze 7 boots in beneath 8 seconds. Windoze turns off in a blazing 3 seconds. WOW! Keep in mind that when installing, BIOS will see the X2 but when Windows boots, it will no see it. Just unwind and set up the OCZ Revodrive X2 driver. Windows will then see it as a totally operational, totally alloted and formated drive. You do practically nothing else but take pleasure in. Seldom am I so impressed with a tech product. This is a new paradigm in functionality. Also, don't have to place up with that roaring noise of my old difficult drives. The Revodrive makes no sound at all. Also, if you have any concerns, OCZ techs at the firm or on the OCZ forum respond rapidly. Warantee is tops!~ I am a pleased camper.

Quite fast, worked properly from the day one. If you want to improve your laptop or computer performance by significantly margin, this will do it. Absolutely nothing. This drive is quite fast.I recently purchased bunch of parts from Newegg to construct out my workstation rather of acquiring Dell desktop/laptop - (i7-2600k, Asus p8p67, 16GB, MSI 6950 Frozr II, Corsair H70, Corsair T600). This pc is way far better than most items I can get from Dell. But the star of this pc is the RevoDrive X2 240GB.I use visual studio with the Resharper on. If you use the Resharper, you know how significantly disk activity it has to do. With the RevoDrive X2, almost everything just zips by. Very quick develop, rebuilt, and compile time.... I appreciate it. Now, I hate working with other personal computer since it is so slow.I am thinking about finding the Vertex 3 240gb for my laptop, HP Envy 17 2070NR.

It's Fast!, OCZ Improved upon their initially attempt and this revision (X2) is a considerably additional total product but it isn't one hundred% excellent just yet. The newer firmware on the other hand is a night and day difference from the original Revodrive (nonX2).If you get a single that operates out of the box it will feel like you've just purchased a new program which is great, because it fees about the similar :). Immediately after extended usage, from my testing and seasoned while the device is brilliant, the most you'll benefit extended phrase from one of these is lowered latency and a drive that doesn't use a three.5 or 5.25 bay. In my opinion, SATA interfaces are the superior bet especially now with SATA III six.0GB ssds around the corner but I'm not factoring that into my rating.Be prepared to have some of your time wasted if you get a single that's a dud or your program configuration is not compatible, see other thoughts. The firmware for the Sandforce drives are sitting behind the firmware for SGII Raid Chip so it's not possible for customers to flash their firmware, I hope OCZ fixes this. In my knowledge OCZ is apparently conscious of the compatibility issues and any connected bugs, if you buy one of these and encouter any concerns they will take care of you but it's not a enjoyable procedure to go through. For now, purchasing a OCZ Revodrive of any incarnation ought to come with the understanding that it's hit or miss. I paid 轾 for the original Revodrive when it came out, when it arrived windows wouldn't boot even right after following OCZ's guides and several days of testing. Thankfully OCZ took care of the issue but it took two RMAs to do it. ***Kudos to OCZ for stepping out into the unknown with this item, they really took likelihood. If you take a chance on 1 of these and it doesn't work, let OCZ operate their magic, they'll take care of you.OCZ uses a little bit of intelligent hackery to get this to work and keep expenses down, they use a PCI-X to PCIe Brdige instead of direct PCIe brdige so there's an added link in the chain, it's apparently cheaper from a production standpoint.

Basic installation, just necessary to download drivers from OCZ's web site prior to installation. Has been running fantastic for a couple of hours now, just received the drive yesterday. Ran Windows Knowledge Index, now lastly the disk drive isn't the weakest link in the chain. I got the following scores:Processor: 7.RAM: 7.Graphics: 7.twoGaming Graphics: 7.2Major Tough Disk: 7.9 Yahoo! out of 7.9 doable! My system is as follows:CPU: Intel Core i3 520RAM: GSKill RipJaw Series 1600MhzMB: EVGA P55Video Card: BFG Geforce GTX 460Tricky Disk: RevoDrive X2 240GB OCZ should include a CD with the drivers, so that we don't have to go by the difficulty of downloading and burning a copy of the drivers. For Computer system Enthusiast like myself, the SSD PCIe card is well worth the cost and I highly advocate the card to computer performance customers, gamers, and enthusiasts. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit boots up in much less than 20 seconds from power on, Applications open instantly, and files transfer rapidly pending network/Internet/Hard disk drive speeds.

Not really a con but there is NO HDD LED activity light hook up for your situations HDD LED light. I got a blue screen once but i consider it was a issue with a plan i was operating. The set up was extremely simple and really rapid.NewEgg delivery only took two operating days rather of 3.Windows 7 upgrade DVD did not insist on a preceding Windows installation becoming present (my major concern).Appears to function as promised. None - To a particular person who paid 踰 for a single sided 180K floppy drive for a C64 and 軷 for my 1st ten Meg Challenging Drive for a Compaq Luggable, even the cost is extremely sensible. Throughout boot four x 55 gig devices are shown and as you shouldn't fill above 80% you will have a net, usable, space of about 175 gig but this is not a actual negative. I followed Microsoft's directions for loading from a USB device (Start-diskpart-list disk-choose disk #-clean-make partition main-active-format fs=fat32 rapid-assign) and then dragged and dropped the total Win 7 64 bit Pro DVD contents. I also downloaded the 64 bit and 32 bit (not required) drivers from the net web site and dragged them more than too. I then opened my Pc inserted the device, disconected by typical tricky drive and rebooted. I was going to press F12 but didn't require as well as Windows was currently loading files and apart from possessing to load the 64 bit Raid driver when prompted (no devices discovered, load driver?), set up went flawlessly. I have not attempted to recativate Windows 7 but the worse that could happen would be a phone to Microsoft support.

This factor is freaking quickly. ATTO comes through a tiny larger than advertised on my technique. Really rapidly. Typical world wide web cruisers will not see a acquire from this. Significant applications, data files, and games load rapidly. Way quicker than my 2X 50Gig OCZ restricted edition SSD's in Raid . Was acquiring a max of 530 R/W with these in Raid. I seriously dont wait in any game. The maps load instantly Loading the drivers before the set up was getting me. Spent what felt like half a day attempting to figure it out. Now i really feel like an A$$Hat. I was only loading the 64bit driver, and she wasn't being observed in the install. Ultimately i tried the 32bit drivers and there she was. Weird that it needed the 32bit drivers to see the install of the 64bit OS. Nicely anyways the idea of this drive and how it functions gets 5 eggs but the way its installed with the drivers is truly a four. I'm still providing it 5 due to the fact it is just that excellent. Incredibly fast.dd clocked it at 750MB/s raw, sequential read on raid0 md device.Bootable. (even in linux--but needs some trickery to make it work)Simple physical install--it's just a PCI-e card.My whole system is significantly snappier. - it's only fakeraid- no JBOD mode- you *have* to configure a logical device of some kind to make it bootable (regardless if you actually use it) So, for any linux users, right here's what I did:- configure a 1GB raid1 set so that it's bootable (linux will by no means see or use this)- use "fdisk -cu", and make all your partitions begin on 4k boundaries- I configured three partitions on every single device: - 99MB: for raid1 /boot -> /dev/md0 - 3GB: for swap ྫྷGB total) - rest: for raid0 / -> /dev/md1- setup grub and kernel to boot off the raid1 /boot as standard, and set kernel to mount root from the raid0 partition as regularNote, that the hardware's 1GB raid1 overlaps the /boot and into the swap. This won't break something because absolutely nothing is going through the card's fakeraid layer. Also, considering that the kernel really sees the sandforce chips straight from behind the bridge, in theory TRIM should be readily available. Hdparm lists the devices as TRIM capable. Unfortunately only ext4 supports any TRIM atm. I'm working with reiserfs v3.ext4 is also new for me to trust, as is NILFS. I didn't bother to attempt to test this.

Installed it on Feb 25 and on Mar 19 2011 on post it posted drive as 0gb, drive 1-3 @ 55gb.Shut comp off waited 20 seconds and tried once more and it fired proper up. Its insanely rapid, boot including post times is much less than ten seconds. Opens all my intensive lengthy loading products in 1Ǜth the time or much less compared to my old 7200rpm drive. Newegg's RMA process has been smooth so far. The SSD came unassembled! Not only was it not all together, but numerous screws and other parts had been missing creating it impossible to put with each other. I've had goods DOA ahead of. But never has something come with incomplete assembly before. I do not have the slightest clue as to how this can come about. Was there no one, while packaging the item up, that mentioned, "Hey, wait a second, this SSD is missing 1ǘ of its parts"Apparently not. And therefore, I have wasted an additional week of waiting for a replacement due to the fact OCZ lacks adequate production oversight. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the problem, and suspect that your drive has been tampered with. It would not be feasible for a disassembled drive to pass our testing procedures prior to packaging. Your replacement should work out fine for you. Astounding performance, uncomplicated to install and setup Had to download the driver, and set it up manually following directions on OCZ's web site. Really not a con, just a minor annoyance. OCZ's on-line directions worked perfectly although. I use this for numerous VMs I use for software package development stuff. C++ compilation speed leaves me speechless. I just can not think how rapid it is. The default Atto benchmark shows 730+ MB/sec read and write for my drive. I've under no circumstances owned anything like this before. What an remarkable device.I am making use of it with Asus P6X58D mobo, bios rev. 1002, i7 980X @ 4.14GHz, Corsair 12GB dominator kit CMD12GX3M6A1600C8, and 2x PowerColor 5870 cards (the two cards and the revodrive are running at 16x-8x-8x, no diff in 3d benchmarks compared to when the cards were at 16x-16x). Couple of Intel X25M SSDs, couple of velociraptors. I am NOT working with this as my boot drive. Just don't trust it but. Only my VMs.
