1.4Gb/s read & write is truely achievable with 4Mb or bigger transfers. Make good quality look very excellent. 1st Card was DOE (only 7 of the eight internal 'drves' appeared to the raid controller) so minus an egg for that.Exactly where is the instruction manual! - Both the 1st DOE unit and the 2nd replacement unit only integrated 1 sheet of 4x4" paper that tells you how to format the drive in windows but has no mention of how to configure the embeded LSI RAID controller or where to discover the actual manual on the internet. - Come on OCZ for the $ of this drive i would at leat anticipate a manual or a link to a manual!!! Bought [not by way of newegg, sorry :-( !] for Enterprise use in Dell Server but performed the following benchmarks in a Computer for comparison:Block | Throughput (MB/s) Size | Read Create------- ------------- -----------1k 12 13 2k 24 24 4k 43 45 8k 68 77 16k 97 118 32k 155 161 64k 202 197 128k 385 369 256k 693 663 512k 1,015 1,001 1m 1,100 1,100 2m 1,200 1,200 4m 1.400 1,300 8m 1,200 1,300 16m 1,200 1,400

Installed quickly. Discovered by Windows 7 with out complications. The Windows Encounter Rating was the highest doable. Boot time (once past the BIOS initialization) is about 10 seconds. Apps load a lot more or less immediately. The card is just wide enough that it prevents the neighboring slots from being utilized. The chips will need a good airflow, else they get hot through use. As with all SSDs, speed decreases with use. Refer to OCZ's forum for difficulties some individuals have reported. Due to the fact this drive utilizes its own controller, TRIM assistance is not offered. The built-in garbage collection may possibly or may not make up for the lack of TRIM; the technologies is too new for any extended-term reliability statistics to be offered. I split the drive into two partitions: a modest a single for the operating technique, and a larger a single for applications (not like application information). The bigger partition is mostly read-only to aid decrease SSD wear. I hold app data on an old-fashioned spinning drive. I do worry about having a single point of failure if the SSD dies. I commonly would make this kind of method with RAID6 or RAID10.

It's blazing quick... up until it dies. These drives are in fact 4 256GB SSDs with an onboard RAID controller, configured to RAID0. We bought five of these at the corporation I work for. Within 1 month 3 of them have died already. For this kind of funds you're much better off obtaining your own hardware RAID controller and 4 additional trustworthy SSDs. Manufacturer Response:Hello, please call our support manager at 鷘) 733-8400, ext 206. We want each customer to be pleased with their acquire, and will be happy to help you. Thank you

This is an enterprise-class SSD, not a consumer product. It is costly, that comes with the territory. SUPER quickly. It lives up to it's advertised performance and then some.I run several of these in Oracle DB servers using ASM for striping & mirroring. They stinkin' fly way faster than any SAN I've ever utilized or seen. I didn't get them from NewEgg. Price is the only downside at this point. SSD is the way of the future for server & enterprise-class storage. Within five years, spindle storage will be going the way of the Dodo bird.
