Really like the OC Genie function. Delivers effortless OC'ing. UEFI BIOS is fairly nice and clean. The layout of the board is good, even long video cards shouldn't block the SATA ports on this mobo. Heatsinks about the CPU socket are quick adequate to fit under just about any CPU cooler. The lever on the LGA1155 socket made me a small nervous simply because of how substantially force I felt I was putting on the CPU. I was afraid it would bend the pins, but from what I read, that force is normal. Just be careful when inserting the CPU and bringing the lever back down into the locking position. Take your time. Prior to acquiring this motherboard, make positive that you have a Energy Supply with an 8-pin Motherboard power cable, in addition to the usual 24-pin energy cable. Make positive to study the manual and insert dual-channel RAM kits in the right slots. Mainly because of my CPU cooler (Thermaltake FRIO), I had to insert my RAM in DIMMS 2 & 4 as an alternative of 1 & three mainly because my RAM heatsinks had been tall, but the board nevertheless booted and runs devoid of any concerns.

nice placement of PCI-e slots, and all round design and style. Immediately after waiting weeks for the motherboard to be in stock, spending alot of $$$$, then spending five hrs setting up my computer/case the motherboard would not power up and would constantly go on the on/off power loop. I am not content at all. I have attempted to trouble shoot to get the board to operate but i have had no success. I almost paid 赊 at a nicely identified computer shop to trouble shoot the board but right after previous testimonials about this concern i am glad i didn't waste much more cash. I hope the replacement board does not give me this concern once more, so i can in fact give this board a very good critique. this has almost turned me off to the whole use of a Pc in general and could consider obtaining a computer program that starts with an A, whose symbol is a "fruit." It is enjoyable developing your personal Pc to potentially rocket speeds but to commit alot of money and to have it not work is just incorrect. Looks good, has a good feel to it. Also looks promising but.... USB's are really buggy external tough drives don't want to be recognized i attempted every little thing on the book. When it recognied my external tough drive all my back up data was erased, so you can think about how i feel. This is extremely buggy board, I think the AMD boards made by this corporation are considerably greater produced. What I identified out about Intel boards is that the drivers aren't fairly there but. But it's your call also negative I can return my CPU and regreting going with intel is not gonna bring my files back. Shame on you MSI. I really should have listen to all the poor reviews on this "thing" but you reside and study. It functions--no endless loop making use of G-Ability 8GB ram ƒx4GB) 240 pinn DDR3 1600mhz in black DIMM slots. BIOS is effortless to configure, but can hang up a bit--don't count on the mouse functioning all the time. Excellent layout, looks good too. Weird startup--3 dots and a quantity at the bottom, accompanied by a beep; not confident if this is regular or what's happening. I'm worried that if I ever add a lot more RAM the board will commence messing up. Also, immediately after more than-clocking my processor/RAM, speccy and Windows will not show the values--so I'm not even confident if I'm over clocked or not. For some reason, my challenging drive isn't 'found' at startup too, but it boots. Purchaser beware; may possibly want to wait till all of the kinks are worked out--I think I got fortunate. i5-2500kG-Ability 8GB Ram ƒx4GB) 240pin DDR3 1600mhz (O.C.)Radeon 6950 2GB DDR5 Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Consumer,We would like to apologize for the challenge you have seasoned with this particular mb. Instantly recognized the G Talent sniper 2x4gb set at 1.5vAdore the blue led at the prime of the motherboard its very good. I was in a position to use the CWH70 corsair cooler. it was finicky, but it does work. Appreciate the value per functionality ratio. I cant come up with a anything i dislike but. I was searching to get the Asrock p67 extreme4 however that wasnt out at the time, and this board was doing good with the benchmarks. With a WD Sata III 64mb cache, 640gb tough drive black caviar it has handled every thing ive thrown at it with precision and speed. Appreciate the color, adore the style. Might go with some a lot more MSI boards in the future.

Great Board, recognized all devices with no problems. In contrast to other customers, I have not had any looping problems. OC button is good, took my I7-2600k up to the max of four.2Ghz (unless you modify the max settings). No want to OC but, but it was nice to see what it could do. None but. Although not a con, the BOIS will take a tiny bit to get use to navigating by way of. Guarantee you install the drivers on their supplied disk or you will have alot of lag/hangups upon bootup. Haven't had difficulties because installing ALL drivers from the supplied disk. Was unsure about acquiring this board with some of the testimonials, but it has worked flawlessly for me.

Ran fine on initial boot. Adjusted ram timings manually in bios. Performs flawlessly. Booted fine with Corsair Vengence DDR3 16002x4GB in either 1-three or 2-four dimm slots, at 9-9-9-24-2T. No complaints here. Not utilised to new bios interface, not a con, it just takes getting utilized to it. Intially I wanted the Asus P8P67 but it was not offered, so I elected to go with this MSI board instead. No regrets.

Booted up with out a difficulty, new form Bios is a key improvement, OC genie does a great job with an i5-2500K and you have the option to tweak settings your self for even greater gains. It would be nice to have an additional front side USB header, but I can't honestly dock it an egg for that, given that it says so clearly in the specs. My final build was an MSI board, and most of the earlier boxes have been Asus. This is a great deal, offering a really fantastic feature set at a incredibly competitive price tag.

Solid, good looking board. Effectively laid out. Quickly installed. Booted up with all 8G of memory installed in DIM 1 and DIM3. Operating at stock speed is extremely stable and quickly. Click BIOS is fine once you get utilized to it.No troubles installing Windows 7 Pro. Installing drivers from the accompanying disc was rapidly, simple and successful. Disc comes with some useful additional MSI computer software. Manual says to enter BIOS hit DELETE. Incorrect ! Should say hit F2. Annoying to have to try various keys before locating correct one.Removed one egg for the following:After booting to the BIOS and entering the SETTINGS menu, a graphical display of CPU temperature is shown. In my case,70 Deg. C was displayed, at idle.Nevertheless, following booting into windows operating the MSI Control Panel software program shows 35 Deg. C in all four cores. I verified this with another program, "Core Temp" which also showed 35 Deg. C in all four cores. Which is correct the BIOS or the two software program applications ? Till I resolve this 35 Deg C temperature distinction I'm leery of trying even minimal overclocking.Intel i7 2600K processorCorsair Vengeance 8GB 1600 memoryCorsair TX750 V2 PSUPSapphire Radeon 6850 1GB Video cardSeagate 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3GB/sec Really hard driveAntec 300 ATX mid tower caseSony DVD burner SATA

It did work for a tiny when. I gave this board two eggs because some of the problem may well have been do to the Gskill RAM that had a quick or it was the MB that triggered the issue with the Gskill RAM. Making use of the two remaining sticks of RAM (started with four) I was in a position to get the program operating for 2 weeks. Then it crashed. My CPU was killed - evil murderous board - Very disappointed in this board. Purchaser beware - I have never had so many headaches in setting up a technique (this is my third create). Does every thing it says it will. Uncomplicated to overclock CPU and memory. Lots of USB 3. ports with the PCI card that comes with the board. Installation instructions have been decent compared to some of the far more vague ones I've gotten with boards. Could use one more USB output onboard but I knew what I was finding into. I'm not a major fan of GUI BIOS's but not a huge deal. Kind of runs hot in what is a usually cool setup. The dreaded infinite energy loop but... So, I built my machine and it worked good out of the box. However, I was unhappy with my right after-market CPU cooler and went back to the stock to uncover that the computer system wouldn't boot adequately. It just attempted rebooting endlessly. I tried a lot of issues to repair it, different combinations of components, etc, and just when I was ready to RMA it, I tried one final thing... which worked. I check around the CPU area and found I had left bits of thermal paste on the board. I thoroughly cleaned the location of the board about the CPU and identified it started up completely. I'm not sure if this will fix all the problems persons are possessing, but it's worth providing a try ahead of RMA-ing.

It's sleek, functions rapid, comes with usb three., 6gb/s satas, and overclocks easily with the new i7 sandy bridge 2600k. The OC genie only gets it to four.two with concrete stability, but for aficionados that isn't sufficient. The bios is clickable, and user friendly.Essentially tends to make me use the additional holes in the back of the case, where other ATX boards I've utilised only take up 3ǚths of it. My buddy's clocks at four.9 stable with 1.45 v, whilst mine likes to blue screen at that, so i have it at four.eight mHz 1.40 (i feel) volts. All the boards are not produced equal apparently. The highest we got it up to was 5.2 but unstable. There's an situation with cold resets. When turning on the pc and/or restarting it, at times it will be frozen between bios purgatory and windows heaven with nothing loading, so hitting the restart button and waiting for it to reboot gets old soon after a few times. Perhaps this only occurs when not overclocked although, so OC at your own threat. It's an MSI board, it works excellent most of the time but at times it's not excellent. Other individuals have been griping about the cold reset problem, but to me it's not worth RMAing it mainly because it still operates far more than half the time. It's a stunning board and is leading of the line for now, much greater than the ASUS board. gskill ripjaw 4gb 128002x 5850i7 sandy bridge 2600k four.8ghz 1.4 volts (i believe).cooled by cooler master v8.thermaltake element G
