Cons: win xp pro doesn't recognize the onboard audio so download audio driver from Asus and install driver from within Windows xp

Pros: Intel X58 architecture3 PCIe 2.0 x16 for 2 or 3 way SLI2 x PCI slots1 x PCI x1 slot
Comment:
I really like the faster graphics card support as I my eVGA 460 PCIe x 16 is a vast improvement over the agp x 8 I had before. The 2 PCI slots let me use my older SCSI based epson expression 800 and my first generation Audgie Platininum Ex card. And I also love the cpu support for my i7 930 and its quad cores and multi-threading giveing me 8 virtual cores. The number of usb connectors also makes my life easier

Cons: Only 2 SATA ports facing outward from the face of the board. The other slots are in the plane of the board and it's a real pain to connect them without dismantling everything. Two was enough for me but I don't understand why they can't make these more accessible. The sound output internal connector pins near the bottom of the board interfere with the last PCI slot. A thick card in that slot might interfere with that. The "CHA_FAN2" connector won't power a fan with manual speed control. Maybe this is standard but you'd think it could still power it and then control the speed as a percentage of the manually setting or something.

Pros: Seems well made. Chip-set heat sinks are substantial, well layed out, and well attached. Sturdy back plate supporting the CPU socket which works great to secure after-market cooler w/o damaging the board.Enough overclocking for me. BIOS was a breeze. Moved the BCLK from 133 to 167, turned off "auto-overclocking" and power-stepping stuff and changed nothing else (no voltages) for a 3.34GHz OC of a i7 920. Running sub-30s idle with an after-market air cooler. No reason to go any higher when this is so easy, so safe and already better than the $1K chip.Minimal, simple drivers. There were not "super suites" of useless poorly made software like some motherboards come with.Doesn't have any bells and whistles but bells crack and whistles are annoying. Just a solid board. Every ASUS board I've bought since 10 years ago worked first try and every try since except this one but I blame my cooler not ASUS.
Comment:
That back-plate might end up causing shorts because combined with an after-market cooling bracket standard stand-offs might not be sufficient to give the board separation from the case. When I first installed it on standard stand-offs the fans would spin up for a moment and then nothing all while the LEDs on the board were lit up fine. Suspecting a short I got ahold of some extra tall plastic stand-offs and once I got it sitting on those it POSTed first try and hasn't had problems since.

Buy this if your not going to be displaying the motherboard, or if your going to be using 2-3 GPUs as you won't loose usb 3.0.

This is one of the best motherboards for the money if you are looking for a i7 build. Easy installation and perfect for sli/crossfire.

Cons: It's not loaded with features compared to the deluxe version, but that's reflected in the lower price. The board will be a concern for people who are SLI / Xfiring since the slots are 16-16-4 PCI-E. Only big complaint are the two SATA connections located close to the RAM, they get covered up by long video cards.

Pros: Good quality ASUS board that doesn't break the bank.
Comment:
Bought this for my i7 930 build and have been very happy with it so far. No problems with overclocking so far. Good quality from ASUS, and is priced right.

Cons: 1 of the PCI express x16 slots only operates in 4x mode so you are basically limited to 2 way SLI only

Pros: Overclocks well, good features
Comment:
I've used this board for well over a year and it's been running an i7 920 v 4Ghz stock voltage the whole time. The board itself is also loaded with 2 video cards in SLI, 5 hard drives 6GB ram, and even one of the old PCI slots is in use all powered by a corsair 750 watt PSU. Everything runs great... honestly this setup is just as strong as it was a year ago. I see absolutely no reason to upgrade the mobo and CPU in the forseeable future. No games even begin to stress the CPU to its potential yet.If you don't need all the fluff on ASUS' more high end boards like the Rampage III, the P6T is a solid choice. It will overclock and if all you want is 2 way SLI/Crossfire you are good to go.

Although I was able to install the motherboard easily, I have had problems with the LAN connection not being recognized and no internet connectivity. The included utilities are not great and there are error messages when booting. I would not get an ASUS motherboard again.

First time putting together a desktop, and I have to say that this is a really nice motherboard. It's socket 1366, so it's got the latest and greatest. What more could a gamer like me ask for? Used an Intel Core i7 920 CPU, EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX graphics card, and Corsair XMS3 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 tri-channel memory.

Easy install, good performance. Comes with a header for front bezel connectors, don't know why nobody thought of this before. Win 7 64 bit, i7 930, 6GB ram and 1 TB SATO drive. Boots in about 1 minute. Just bought an Intel SSD and hope to reduce boot to a few seconds. No need to overclock.

Bought this with a core i7 920, This board performs exceptionally well for its price. I went for this board over the deluxe version because it was bundled at the time.Been using this board for almost a year. No problems with the board. Stable overclock on my 920 at 3.6ghz at 1.25 with idle temps at ~33-40 degrees on all cores with a 120 extreme

I heard good things about this board before choosing it. Heard ASUS makes good quality. Two exchanged boards with dead RAM slots later, and I am wondering how they got the good rep. If it had been just one defective board...ok, stuff happens..but two in a row! Unacceptable. I'm changing to GIGABYTE, hope it works out.

I have used the Asus P6T motherboard for 14 months without any problems. I have 9 GB of memory installed and am using a 920 CPU to edit video. I updated the bios using Asus' website before upgrading to Windows 7 three months ago. This motherboard has been a solid performer for me.

ASUS is commonly used for DAW applications and I have always told myself that when I upgraded, I would get one. This board was rock solid right out of the gate and effortless to setup. As a matter of fact, there WAS no setup.

Overall, great board. Snug fit in the case. Also, the ports and SATA connections are awkwardly placed facing the drive bays - it makes the connections difficult and the cables need to be wrangled for terrible Feng Shui. The short cables are too short and the long cables are ridiculous. Also, this board does not come with motherboard mounting screws or plastic mounting pegs - so make sure you buy them!

Cons: not good for crossfire

Pros: relatively cheapsolid board
Comment:
overall the build and quality of the motherboard is solid. Asus epu6 engine is a great little tool but I find that it doesn't set the right speeds for medium and max power savings. Why they bothered with a -50% adjustment when the most it will decrease speed is to 1425mhz is confusing. the increments don't make sense in my opinion, but still the gui is better than others i've used. Don't try to crossfire on this board unless you wanna use the 4x slot...which wouldn't make sense in the first place. The slots are way too close to allow good airflow. I would give 3.5 stars
