Did not work right with my BStar Mobo, increased boot times for vista to well over 10minutes and caused computer to crash and hang anytime I tried to access files on the drive. SiliconImages bios updater for the card would not find the card in the system, which was weird as the OS and Bios found the card.

I had a mother board with intermittent SATA hard drive ports. So needed something to be able to boot from a card that connected to SATA HD and DVD. This worked fine after I got the PC to boot with out any drives attached to the card and installed the drivers from then included CD. Would not boot until I did that step. Luckily the PC would work some times or It would have been a waste of time and $. Manual was of no help for my type of install. If that had not worked, the Acer PC was close to worthless as it was 1 month out of the refurb warranty.

This is a great deal and a real steal at this price. I installed it without any problem on my Vista system, and speeds are definitely no less than the onboard SATA controllers, blazing as fast as the drives will allow. Has been very reliable for me over 3 months of non-stop use. I would recommend this to anybody looking for an x1 add-on SATA card, as you definitely cannot beat it for the price.

Now that I got it working, it works fantastic! Got it to allow my system with a 630i board to boot with an 8800gt covering up all 4 sata ports. At first it wouldn't boot to the hard drive, but you need to specify which drive to boot to or it won't boot to anything. I didn't buy this for the RAID and so have no idea about its' performance :/ Works well, now I have a DVD drive and HD running on it at full speed. I like how small the card is

Bought this to replace the two sata ports on my motherboard which are now covered up by my huge videocard.I'm running vista and had no problems installing this.I just plugged it in, hooked up my DVD burner and my swapdrive and it worked right away.I can now even turn on/off the swapdrive and have vista see it better.

It does nothing. I had to manually install it and it still gives me Error Code 10 - this device cannot start. Tried all the updates of the drivers, nothing. At Masscool's website, it does not even have the drivers. I really hate that. I tried the generic Silicon drivers, no matter which I chose, nothing. This is the only item that I bought from TigerDirect that doesn't work. I am running Windows XP Pro 32 bit, on an XFX 8200 motherboard.
