No problems playing files from the internal HDD I installed, USB sticks, or via Windows shares on my wireless network. fan can get somewhat loud, unit gets quite warm also. I'm genuinely delighted with the PBO, but if Patriot can get netflix and hulu on this point it will be ideal.

User interface just doesn't looks excellent on a 1080P Tv. Some settings make no sense and expected hunting them up on the forums, what's a "Ken Burns?" Little footprint - standard updates - plays most formats - drive upgradable initial unit had an concern where in the middle of a movie sound would just quit operating. I have been using this because Thanksgiving and am impressed. excellent small player for the price I paid soon after rebate. To Tommy who says this does not play mkv's - update your firmware. They are putting out common updates and the newe mkv's will play following you take 5 minutes and update the firmware.

Patriot sent me a new remote and the player worked as it must. I have played almost everything in it. Like BluRay, so dissapointment turns to happiness. Excellent media player and compact. Read their on-line forums prior to buying this, there are identified compatibility problems that are not appearant until you purchase the unit. Now I can't return the item mainly because I reduce out the UPC bar code. Ƒ) Will not play Blu-Ray ISO's without video and audio stuttering. ƒ) Purchased the N wireless adapter so that I could play BD-ISO's wirelessly but confirmed by e-mail that this is not supported with BD-ISO files. So now I'm stuck with two devices that I have no use for. Want they got their act collectively and fix the BD-ISO issue.Prior to acquiring this please study up on their on the web forums. I was told by their compatibility department that they do not assure playability with BD-ISO. Nicely that's the only cause why I bought this point. It has played anything I can throw at it. I connected it by means of wired network and am able to play 1080p video through the network from a samba (See Cons Š?) share with no issues. Only have a couple smalls issues. 1. My Verizon FIOS tv remote turns on the energy of the unit when I adjust the channels on the tv. I generally end up getting to turn the switch off on the back of it to retain it from turning on.two. For some explanation when I connect to my samba share, even if I save the login/password as a hyperlink, I can not appear to come across the hyperlink and will need to enter the share path and login/password info each time. This point has played any video format I throw at it.Small.You can connect an internal HD but the unit gets super hot.Samba sharing functions. You can see attached drives on network. Power toggle sometimes doesn't work if USB drives are attached.Ugly interface.No 1-min preview like PS3.

I got this box simply because i was tired of burning motion pictures to dvd. so far plays everything Ive thrown at it. Just stick to external drives for it. Plaved 1 2 hour film from internal drive and it got hot and froze up on me. Dont bother putting an internal in it just get a small external for it. Less costly and cooler.

By far the greatest media player I have had ever. I have no challenge streaming 1080p from my Computer, through a router and switch. The router is a ten럼 and nonetheless no issues. I adore all the different strategies that you can access media with this device. You can even copy more than the network to a HDD that can be installed in this unit. It is a small annoying how there is a video preview when I am trying to get a video started since that has to buffer for about a second and then I can go full screen. Even so, this would be nice if you didn't have your videos named very effectively on your Pc.

Suitable out of the box, this played most formats, but I was truly disappointed when it only played the audio of MKV files - till I figured out how to update the firmware. Considering that then, it's played every file I've thrown at it from USB flash memory sticks or USB tough drives. None at all. Do your homework, know what you're seeking for, and get this point. It's fantastic. The wife purchased this for me for Christmas, so it's not on my account (and hence possibly won't show me as a verified owner).

This issue is good! Straightforward to setup, intuitive interface, network connection, plays every little thing, video and sound qualtiy is fabulous. With USB Wi-Fi adapter you can connect to the network and play any files on shared network drives. It even recognizes and plays folder with DVD files! Can't ask for more from the device less than book size! None
