Pros: - PM price was good- Worked without manually installing drivers (Win7 64-bit)

Works as advertised. I have two eSATA hard drive docks and they both work perfectly with this card. I didn't have to install the drivers that came on the disk with it, so that was a plus. Only semi-downside is possibly the fact that it takes a tad longer for my system to boot now. Not a big deal though.

The controller card worked perfectly and installed without any problems. Don't be fooled like I was, however, if you expect to buy a card like this and get 300 Gbps transfer speed with an esata external hard drive enclosure, especially one made by the same company. Tech support said 35-55 Gbps is normal and won't be any faster.

Regrettably I could not get this card to work with my quad core PowerMac G5; I could see the card on the computer but could not access the drive attached to the card - despite installing the latest drivers from Silicon Image. I purchased a different card from another vendor - which still had the Silicon Image chip set and it worked perfectly with the drivers that I had already installed. As a result of this, I am unable to rate this product meaningfully!!

I used to back up my 750GB movie collection at night via USB. Now this card allows me to back up the same items in a little over 2 hours. Coupled with a Thermaltake BlacX it works perfectly. Plug and play. Exactly what I was looking for.
