It was a great cost for what it was. Right after calculating how much power I was drawing, I ought to have been below 400 watts. That's rounding up generously with my numbers. I played Jericho for about two hours and my box shut down. When I opened up the power supply, because that's exactly where the smell was coming from, a single of the inductors had melted. It was a wonderful product till I required it to live up to it's specs. on the side it truly says that it's a 400 watt energy provide with a 550 max. I don't assume it can withstand a lot at a full load.

Wonderful shipping and consumer service, I really speedily and efficiently got a refund. This energy supply came, it *worked* but there had been a couple of problems. Initially of all, it wouldn't fit in my case correctly. The power switch and the energy plug-in will need to switch sides from top to bottom so that it will match. Secondly the SATA plug didn't even fit anything. My DVD-drive and my Hard Drive are each SATA (I didn't know the DVD-drive was or I would have gotten some thing with 2 SATAs) and the SATA cable didn't fit either of them. Would be extremely fantastic only if the SATA at least match something. I could get a 4-pin molex to SATA converter but that doesn't solve the dilemma of it not fitting in my case.

This have to be the 5th or 6th Logisys P/S I've purchased. They often give solide, ripple totally free power for whatever your demands are. Match & finish is indicative of a substantially pricier unit. The Black series almost appears like Black Chrome, and the fans are quiet. None. Often verify sli or crossfire, (Nvidia or ATI) and quantity of connectors for your board & you'll never go wrong.

This case appears great. It's Enormous as well, compared to my last case, an emachines(which lasted me a shocking 3.5 years, surprising when my good friends give me hell about it) plenty of space inside. I will create an additional overview when my pc is built. Case is bigger than I believed, idk if it will match beneath my desk and I'm not certain if I like the power provide being on the bottom. My buddy said it appears like anything from Transformers.

Simple to set up, came with plenty of cables to hook almost everything up without adapters. Only factor I can consider of is some of the cables could have been a bit longer, I had to move my two HDs up 1 rack to make the cables reach.

Affordable, and thats it, Let me start off by saying, i am glad i stoped utilizing it becuase it felt like my house was going to burn down. I notieced a burning smell and i place my had to this energy supply and noticed its hot as hell. It place out so considerably heat that my laptop temps went up, and its blowing hot air out.I am chucking it due to the fact its not worth burning my house down.

This PSU lasted 3 years. When it goes there is a faint burning electronic smell. I'd prefer one thing far more rosy when a PSU fries. I bought this PSU 3 years ago ƕቲቢ) from Newegg. It worked fine till about six months ago when I began receiving warnings. Windows would tell me that the battery was low and to connect to a energy supply. three months ago the pc would start out randomly turning off or going into hibernation.3 weeks ago the PSU went out with the distinct smell of burning electronics. I checked the PSU but didn't noticed any burn marks on it. I purchased a new Ultra X3 850 PSU and have had not additional difficulties. It appears that the device had reached the finish of it's helpful life. I hold no really hard feelings to Logisys. I only wished the PSU had simply reached a point of obsolescence versus dying.I gave this guy three stars. It worked fine and devoid of troubles in two computers for 2 1ǘ years. The system that killed had been operating with out problems for more than a year. It shouldn't have been taxing it (too a lot).Specs:AMD X2 6000+Asus M2n-SLI DeluxeXFX nVidia 9600 GT 512three GB ramCD/DVD Burner16

If newegg had a unfavorable star this would be it. Everything else i have ever bought from newegg has been prime notch. I essentially didnt spend a dime it was free of charge with my nzxt m59 case.My practical experience was this. the psu wire got hot truly hot. I tried to prime 95 test my amd athlon ii 630 at stock two.8 and the wire actually psu wire actually gets hot to the touch. I believed this was a fire hazard so I ran to a local shop and purchased me an antec psu (i would rather get one from newegg, i hate the retail retailers by the way). Do your self a favor and purchase any energy supply from newegg that meets your power specifications and is at least 80 plus certified. again, dont harm your good gear with this issue.

Value. Performs. This is the loudest energy supply I have ever heard. And I don't imply just slightly louder. I could hear it across my house (over 30 feet away). It actually rivals a standing room fan on medium in decibels, but greater pitched. Certainly will not suffice if you want a quiet operate location or have an HTPC. I recognize this PSU is affordable, but these days with nearly silent units fairly frequent for inexpensive prices, I discover it inexplicable this design and style ever created it past QC. Unacceptable in my opinion, regardless of price tag. Since RMAing is also huge a hassle for such a cost, it will just be a temporary emergency back-up if a single of my other PSUs dies. I just noticed video critiques are obtainable, which is as well bad, as had I identified beforehand I would have recorded how loud it was for you all to hear prior to I took it out and stashed it in the garage.

Bought this in January of 2006 and its still operating. It has powered the last four Pc's I've owned. 2 of the Computer's I've had with this had a metal tab on the case that required to be bent to fit this in. 1 was a Compaq and the other was a HP. Following I was accomplished with them I just bent the tab back as significantly as I could and utilized a hammer to straighten the tab out so the original power supply could go back in. It wasn't a big deal to me. GPU's I've utilized with this are GeForce 6200 & 7600 GT, and ATI x300 & 4670.

Inexpensive (also got it with totally free shipping) and sufficient connectors and energy to get most low-level machines began. This is the supply that sits on the shelf to supply an immedeate replacement for your non-tech loved ones member, neighbor or buddy who just had the unit in their five year-old machine die. Our regional Boy Scouts have an annual fund-raiser exactly where old pc hardware is donated and sold. I generally create a couple Linux boxes for this occasion from old hardware and this PS is perfect for these machines. (The boys also learn how a machine comes with each other and get exposed to Open Source. Finding out > Landfills.) None for this unit at this cost and what it is being asked to do.Cons are whiners that say,"at this value, I want a 1kw with modular cables and Gold certified." Get actual. If you require a actual energy supply for a real personal computer, spend the expected money and get a single. Wishing all my fellow Eggers a Delighted Holidays and joyous New Year!

I got this for my HTPC develop that doesn't demand as well significantly energy and this factor delivers excellent for the great price tag! I have by no means had a energy failure or method restart. but I have only owned it for a month. So far so very good! This is my 3rd PSU from Logisys. The initially I purchased was the acrylic PSU 550 watt and it lasted over a year ahead of becoming burnt out. I assume it was due to dust though due to the fact I by no means cleaned it :/. The second I purchased workes excellent, but has some issues restarting (I feel it has a bad 12v rail) and then this one runs smooth like my 1st 1. So far I am quite impressed for the price tag I have paid and the high quality I recieved! Only one SATA connection (you can obtain 4pin energy connectors to sata convertors for low-cost to repair this) and 25Amps on the single 12v rail make it not so good for higher-end gaming systems, but just perfect for my HTPC technique! 1) Cheap2) 25A 12v Railthree) Somewhat Pretty 1) Light-weight I have employed a couple of these more than the previous year. I pick them up fwhen they are on sale for like 15$, and then I use them in light duty custom builds. These are best for powering a method with a Mobo fed gpu like a Nvidia 9500 or an ATI 4350 becasue of the somewhat huge single 12v Rail (IMHO...). These are light-wieght nevertheless, so I would not use them in any correct gaming pc. Nevertheless, for the value they are great and I have never had a issue with any of mine.

inexpensive power provide with all of the cables you may well require energy supply is slightly off the common shape, so the screw holes line up poorly I am building a new laptop and required an affordable power supply. This worked perfect, and ordered it proper away. The only hick-up was when trying to mount it into my PowerUp ATX Black Mid-Tower Case, the holes in te power provide didn't fairly line up appropriate with my tower. So, I had to play with it a little to get all of the screws in properly. It sits fine and I don't appear to have any difficulties with the unit. I'm no computer guru, but this energy supply just appears to be a tiny different size then other ones I've worked with.

Its low-cost and reliable. Functions. Its a four pin Cpu connector. You will need to obtain a 4 pin to eight pin converter to use with lots of motherboards. I guess its ok . The converter is like eight bucks. Not too bad. The packaging appears ghetto.

Nice seeking, straightforward to set up. Low-cost.Thsts it for the one I got. Was a fail from the second I installed it with the rest of the case. Plug it all in, hit the power switch to verify my case fans and...nothing at all...the PSU is either not powerfull sufficient to turn on two 250mm, 1 120mm and a trio of 80mm fans or its dead. Either way.... Got it cuz it was inexpensive, and with the origional goal, cheap was necessary. Now I see what my foolishness got me.
