Works well, first DVD burner I've gotten to work in AHCI mode as I already have 9 HDDs I needed to run it in AHCI and it worked great. First time I've gotten one of these to run properly outside of IDE. Plextor is the best, hands down, I've been through about half a dozen drives for my business and these last the longest. I recommend these to anybody.

This unit died on me a few days after installation. Used it very few times then it stopped reading disks. I decided to order a unit of same brand that was in my system.

The glossy finish on the front makes it look clean and running it is clean as well. Opens quickly and closes quickly, just like all drives should. The activity light is blue so if you have a case with blue lighting, this will match perfectly. Great performance drive.

I had a 386sx running a PLEXTOR SCSI drive that never failed. I out dated it. now I'm looking for something that'll never fail, I know this won't.

I have burned about 100 double density discs over the last 2 months. Not one bad burn in the lot. I have tried the low priced discs and the high. Both gave me superb results with Nero 8. Have not tried any other burn program yet. This burner is money well spent.

The unit I received first self-destructed in a most bizarre way -- totally shattered the DVD blank in it. The return and replacement were done beautifully. The replacement is performing faultlessly. I was disapointed to learn it is a rebranded LiteOn, but it works with the PlexUtilities beautifully, and they are all I hoped for -- actually more. I am a retired physicist who worked all his career in optical storage and nanotechnology. The detailed disc quality scans are superb: BLER, Jitter, TE, and FE.

Just did a new build and needed a burner. Put two of these bad boys in. I've been using Plextor for years and I don't know why anyone would put another brand in their machine. Forget about the bundled software, you'll pull your hair out, it's not worth the aggravation. This drive with Nero will do all you ask of it and then some. If you have a homegrown machine and knew what you were doing building it, you will have no problems with this drive. Need a burner, stop looking, buy it.

Although price is higher when you compare with other burners you'll never regret to choose PLEXTOR. I had another brand once and changed it because I couldn't burn everything I liked. Since I always use Plextor burners and I never have any problem. Friends who tell me that they can't burn a kink of CD or DVD, I recommand them Plextor and when they buy one I can tell that I have good comments. They realize that they had a problem with their writer, not programs they used, computer or CD's and DVD's. Don't miss it, the BEST! Worthing every penny.

Dealing with audio working in a recording studio demands a great CD burner that does not compromise the audio of a raw mixed or unmixed projects. I've used other CD burner brands and this definitely does the job. I've heard that this brand is rated best for burning audio directly from the hard drive and this item is worth every penny at a great price.

This drive does everything I need it to do and it was a good deal. The accompanying NERO software has given me fits. I cannot get it to play any video yet. However, Roxio is directing the drive just fine. I'm running windows 7.

This DVD writer works great. I have not had errors creating dvds since I started using this product. I thought the DVD media that I was using was the problem with my old dvd writer and it turns out it was the drive.

This is my second Plextor. Never have any burn fails. Speed is great.

This Plextor 880SA was a replacement for a different (new) Plextor model that would over heat and stop functioning. This retailer was great in doing a swap and this drive worked fine, right out of the box. Only thing missing from the drive is an audio out connector on the rear but not a big issue since this is a second DVD for the system. Lightscribe also works fine. Good performance drive and other than the last model, have always been pleased with Plextor drive quality and price.
