Very flaky under Windows 7 64 bit. When it works, it's quiet and has played DVDs and Blu-Rays without problem. But to get it to recognize a disc, I have to hard-boot my machine 3 or more times. I never know if it's going to recognize a disc or not. I paid too much for this drive.

After trying 2 other brands before this I am pleased to say the PX-B320SA Blu Ray drive works perfectly. Put in an Vantex NexStar DX external enclosure and I'm a very happy guy!

well it shipped fast, so that's a good thing. and it looks nice in my black case... when my AMD chipset Does detect this thing, it works great. Reads Blu-ray a little slower than listed, around 4.8x physical, but does read without error. DVD's are without flaw, any way you look at it... A well built unit, with good features. But again the the 2 stars are the unreliable detection of this drive with my motherboard. Others may not have this issue, and not all use AMD chipset motherboards either... No faceplate issues whatsoever, although i do not have a case with flappy openings for the CD that the disc tray needs to come out of.. a touch of consideration, when purchasing this drive...

I purchased this drive over a stand-alone blu-ray player because I have a killer media center PC (HTPC), or at least I thought. I wanted to keep everything in one place, but now I'm not so sure that was a good idea. Bluray playback integrates well enough into Windows 7 Media Center, but playback is jittery and the picture seems to skip a few frames every 1-2 seconds during playback. My system is no slouch, but maybe it's time to upgrade again: Athlon x2 4200 2GB DDR 400 GeForce 8600GT

Have been using Plextor Drives for years and this BD holds up to the company's reputation of delivering great performance, compatibility at a great price. Burns Dual Layer reliably and am totally satisifed. Thanks for the great sale and products.

Nero software keeps crashing when I try to run the drive through it. However, Roxio does the trick. Have not had time to troubleshoot properly. Running windows 7.

Here it is, go ahead. Fits just fine in my case, no prob. Blue ray movies are dicey on computer, but if you must have them then this is it.

Install was fairly easy with not much clearance from my RAM in my Silverstone GD01 HTPC Case. I went out and got a Blu Ray disk of Tori Amos to try it out. I installed all the software and Cyberlink PowerDVD and upgraded it. It does a good job so far of playing Blu Ray and DVDs.... So far so good haven't burned anything yet...

Yes, the tray faceplate is not standard. But it fit into my case just fine, the tray operates just fine, so at least part of the problem for the other guys is the space in their cases, and not just the tray faceplate. So far, the drive works fine. (I have had it for a few days at this point.) The only glitch is the software suite that came with it. It requires entering the serial number to install, but after entering the unit's serial number, I got an error message and was not able to complete the installation-- waiting to hear from mfg. But the unit itself earns 5 starts all around.

What a surprise. I found the same problems as the other buyer. The non standard faceplate prevents the tray from opening. Terrible design flaw on Plextor's part. I guess I will need to exchange this item for one that fits as well.

Works just fine as described... As always this retailer has unmatchable service! Ordered on Sunday night, shipped monday, arrived wednesday. Paying standard shipping that is amazing! Love the Drive, however do be warned: If you have a case that has a faceplate be sure that the opening is 5.25

This is not a standard tray faceplate. It extends completely side to side of the unit, not the standard .25'' on each side. AS such, installation was easy HOWEVER the tray could not open through the computer front panel. I have been in IT for 25+ years and never have I seen a non-standard design on a high-end unit as this w/o an option to meet standards (like including a standard sized plate as an alternative). Totally useless in all 3 of my computers unless I either modified the burner (voiding the manufacturer's and extended warranties) or leaving the front panel off the computer (not recommended and probably voiding their warranty also). These are the options Plextor Tech Support gave me and a hardy ''Sorry you're problem not ours'' resolution. Purchase this design-flawed unit at your own peril. Luckily for me, the site's great Customer Service Team allowed me to exchange this for the Pioneer Blu-ray burner. More expensive but at least standard. BBB will be getting my complaint shor
