Nice seeking, quiet, very quiet, quickly, affordable. Not sure if it's drive related, but will not play dark knight, disk appears a bit messy, also paused for a sec on a rental from block buster. Played new kungfu panda flawlessly, tends to make me believe it's disk related rather than drive.

Performs. No computer software. Just before I purchased this, I was fooled by the existing testimonials that this drive comes with BluRay Player computer software. That hasn't been the case for me. Beware: You could will need to spend $$ for additional sortare to play BluRay discs.

Good speed, had no issue with it mounting discs of any kind suitable away in OSX ten.6.two had a handful of hiccups with it burning to typical dvds but absolutely nothing worth dropping any eggs over. wish there was a lot more bluray help for directly playing the videos below OSX, but i knew that was going to be an problem long ahead of purchasing this (any other mac customers out there, be positive to read up on blurays for mac prior to spending the dollars) i was capable to use MakeMKV although to copy my videos over and watch them on my macbook pro with no any problems, transfers speeds were amazingly rapidly.

Unknown, unable to load mfg. software program. According to the Plextor chat agent, Plextor does NOT support Win7 64-bit. Really odd brief-coming. Consequently, I was forced to RMA unit.

Plextor has a superb reputation and I can assure you they do not drop the ball on this drive. Just be aware this is an OEM drive. which means no cables, BUT they do include things like PLEXutilities and BD-Suite with crucial. so honestly if you have a spare sata cable laying around, forget the retail and get the OEM version No SATA cable, but comeon. presently most men and women have a bunch of these laying about Blu-Ray support is fantastic. Ran almost everything I threw at it. DVD burning dual layers is rapid as nicely as single layer. Typical CD/RW burning at max speed and Lightscribe all in a single drive! yYou cant go wrong with this.

The greatest drive I have utilized given that Plextor’s former champion, its 12X DVD-RW. Really rapid error-totally free DVD writing and incredibly quiet operation. Good LightScribe functionality. None so far

This drive functions fantastic on Win 7 - 64-bit. I don't use any of the freebie computer software. I have Power DVD bought from Cyberlink and all is properly there. The native Windows drivers picked up the drive no sweat. Runs rapid and quiet. I can't assume of one particular.

Properly plays blue-ray movies, reads and writes to CD/DVD. Operates quietly and smoothly. Applied in a configuration planned for low-energy consumption, cooler functionality and frequent playing of Hi-Def motion pictures making use of HDMI out as effectively as each day house/business use. Computer includes:- Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H motherboard w/USB 3, SATA three- WD 300 GB VelociRaptor 10K rpm- AMD Phenom II X4 905e Deneb 2.5GHz 65-watt unit- two Patriot 2 GB sticks PGS34G1333ELK- Plextor PX-B320SA- Win 7 Pro 64-bit- Kingwin K-424 aluminum case (reuse, removable MB tray)- Thermaltake 550W PSU (reuse) Loading the Cyber software program supplied by Plextor is a lengthy and convoluted method. Convoluted indicates that some load methods look to repeat as even though the computer software lost track of what was accomplished and what was not performed. I also had initial troubles due to a error I created with the product key, which we all practical experience. When I contacted Plextor, I was thrown off by a Plextor chat line agent. The agent stated that the application was NOT compatible with Win 7 64-bit INCORRECTLY. Following checking support for the drive at Microsoft and obtaining that it was supported, I persisted and succeeded. The software program ultimately loaded, but it required considerable effort as noted above. Overall, obtaining the application loaded was far more troublesome and lengthy than my knowledge with other products, but it performs. On the other hand, the Cyber software program menus to play a film do NOT respond to mouse-click selections as you may well expect. Instead, the keyboard RETURN important initiates the service selection on a menu, such as PLAY (the movie). My four-egg rating is based on this computer software operational issue and incorrect remarks from the Plextor chat line agent. I have usually viewed as Plextor a superior product due to speedy overall performance, low power consumption and reliability, all of this primarily based on use of their products in a quantity of PCs more than the years. Please ignore my preceding review titled WARNING. I required to continue trying to make the software program perform with Win 7 much more aggressively. I failed to see a strategy to revise that earlier overview. Hence, this stick to-up. I canceled the RMA with Newegg. Newegg was really useful and responsive with my RMA request.

Combo device Combo device? Piece of junk. DVD function failed inside 6 months. RMA'd to Plextor following a LOT of discusison. Replacement was DAMAGED (my return was pristine) and worse, the DVD function is DOA. I've been discussing it with Plextor and neither they or I are impressed. Presently awaiting a level two tech to return my get in touch with.Till this drive, Plextors have been Excellent drives for me.

Fantastic Drive, has had no issue with anything I have thrown at it. Blu-Ray assistance is good, Dual-Layer burns flawless. No difficulties reading troubled DVD's that produced my old drive choke. Speeds are very good and high quality is fantastic as effectively. No integrated sata cable i guess. Not an situation for me I got enough of them around as it is. This OEm has been ideal for my usage. I grabbed this drive primarily mainly because of the reputation Plextor has and so far I have not been disappointed.

BluRays appear excellent. This drive is SILENT!!! Cyberlink is horrible. PowerDVD eight came with this drive and it's without having a doubt the WORST player software I've ever used. This drive matches my NZXT Lexa tower perfectly, which was a nice unexpected bonus. Waiting patiently for a superior BluRay software to become available.

Does what it is supposed to for Blu-ray Very picky for ripping dvd's. Not impressed so far. My older Plextor drive can rip anything at all, scratched or not. This a single possibly 1 in three will function. Windows 7 64 bit is not the dilemma. I had to UN-RAID my method in order for it to operate properly. It would have been great for Newegg to list this as a problme Ahead of I bought this drive, as I can\'t return it, only replace.

I am happy with this Drive. I bought the Samsung BD Drive which I also liked, but the noise when not in operation was seriously poor, particularly in the course of start up. Rather Drive overall, when in use for DVD, BD the drive performs flawlessly with minimal if any loud unwanted noises. No cons for this 1, I do not recognize why individuals put down stupid comments about the oem not coming with cables and screws. Also the drive functions just fine on Windows 7. Never owned a Plextor drive, almost went with the LG, I am extremely content I went with Plextor as an alternative. Thank You Newegg for having great Buyer Service practices, and honoring RMA concern's with your buyers. Quite sound, and I appreciate it.

Performs excellentLooks goodEverythings good None so far As an old Plextor fan back from when they had been exclusively SCSI, over the years their high quality has grow to be hit and miss. I had a PX-716A that was just short of getting a piece of junk. But I gotta admit that the last handful of drives I've purchased have worked OK, beginning with the 740's.This is the initial drive that has stood out as a operate horse and chug by means of anything you put in it. It reminds me of the great 'ol Plextor SCSI days once again.I'm so impressed that we're going to be buying a couple of far more of these.

Plextor drives have always been a favorite of mine. I purchased the retail version of this drive more than a year ago and it performs flawlessly. I bought the oem version about a month ago for a new build, and it won't read most discs, blu ray or dvd. When it does it's incredibly great. Most discs I put in the drive it can't read. The light comes on for a couple of seconds then goes out. Say's no disc in drive when I click on it. I take the disc out and drop it into my plextor PX-880SA and it reads no difficulty. This occurs with most discs blu ray and dvd, so there is definetly something incorrect with this drive. I bought it for a new make, which i didn't make proper away and the 30 days for exchange is about to lapse, so now can't even return it. Maybe this is a fluke, I have usually purchased plextor, even even though they price more, for the high quality. Now I'm not so confident.

Functions perfectly in a high productivity environment. Used mainly to read DVDs and occasionally for reading BDs. Somewhat longer than a typical size DVD drive. Not negative, just be forewarned. About .five - .75 inches longer. Superior Plextor quality (I know they are outsourced for manufacture to Plextor specs).

4 eggs for Plextor top quality and reputation. All you get from Newegg is the drive itself, tape-wrapped in bubble wrap and absolutely nothing else. No information cable, no screws, no manual, no software, no box, nada!! Minus one egg for that. Shop around, and you can uncover a complete box set with all of the above for about the same value.

This drive is able to read DVDs, CDs, and BD (Blu-Ray) and is able to burn DVDs, CDs, and Litescribe. That right there was nice mainly because this drive was replacing my DVD burner, and I didn't have the income for a BD burner.Plextor client support is not too negative. Read beneath. 1st drive died. At very first, it appeared to function fine, but then it stated to get picky with DVDs. Often it would read them, from time to time I would have to rotate the disk 15 degrees in the tray over and over until it read it. Slowly, it got worse till it would not read DVDs at all, and CDs began to act up. Then, CDs would not read at all, and BDs began to act up. Lastly, the drive just refused to read any disk, no matter what I did. It recognized the disk in the drive as the little blue light stayed on for about 10 secons, but windows didn't get anything from it.Plextor replaced the drive rather swiftly. Only a two week turn about time, and most of that was mainly because of my end. I chose the cheapest shipping selection feasible by means of UPS.I wish this drive was a BD burner. Overall, this drive is awesome. The new one rips DVDs in under ten minutes. Ripping blu-ray movies takes about an hour, but I can live with that.If it wasn't for the 1st drive becoming defective, this product would recieve five stars. I was going to give it 3, but with Plextor's speedy turn about, it gets four.

Looks slik, burns CD & DVD, serves as a superior replacement for standard burners so you dont get stuck with 3 drives. It works. The PowerDVD8 Software program it comes with is junk. Its not the full version and trys to get you to pay and upgrade. It would not even play Avatar, kept saying mouse is not supported...stupid to start with for a Computer PROGRAM that uses a mouse. I upgraded to PowerDVD10, works flawlessly.

This was my 2nd Blueray drive with windows 7.. My first was a Liteon.. Both drives quit reading cd's after a couple months.. I ran the PlexRadar softeware that came with the drive and everything checked ok.. I did a firmware update with the Plexor software and eureka it worked.. It took a couple minutes to download and install the update and after a reboot the drive was reading cd's again.. I wish all fixes were this easy.. My hats off to Plexor.. I've always had good luck with Plexor drives and this is why. I highly recommend this drive..
