Cons: Hmmm... I will get back to you on this :)

Pros: Superfast and can be used with dd-wrt
Comment:
Best router I ever owned. It has been flashed to dd-wrt and is also OC'd. I can play game while my son is on youtube, daugther is on netflix and having 3 cell phones and 4 tablets connected. :)

Cons: It can be daunting for those who want to set up their routers manually due to the many and various settings otherwise, the Wizard gets this router up and online extremely fast.

Pros: Netgear provides good solid support with updated firmware which allows older printers to connect and work wireless even though they may not have had any wireless capabilities. HP Laserjet 1022

I've used this router with Netgear's firmware as well as Openrouter firmware which has had various versions and updates of its own. For those who use Tomato, this router can use it as well.I have Ooma Voip connected to it and another device connected to Ooma's ethernet output. I really don't have any complaints as this router has worked with old and new hardware and runs without a hitch even with old Telus modems like the Thompson Speedtouch 516v which has a 6mbs speed limit. I highly recommend this router although its splayed out and bigger than it has to be, I'm ok with it and it has the latest USB 3.0 port on the front.I like the software, it allows you to download your routers configuration and save it just in case you need to reconfigure it

Cons: Menus can be confusing

Pros: Good coverage & rangeBuild quality
Comment:
Coming from a rock solid Linksys WRT54G I was hesitant to upgrade to a new router but all my wireless devices have moved beyond 802.11g and all my wired devices are running 1Gb. Having read reviews of user experiences it looked like all of the new crop of wireless routers had their issues. I chose the Netgear because it had the best tested overall performance. From my own experience the wireless coverage has increased over my old router and the signal strength has been more uniform and even. The router has been rock solid so far with no issues. The user interface is not great being split between basic or advanced with sub catagories on the left side. I found all the settings that needed to be changed by going through each catagory. The basic mode gets you up and running but you really should go into the advanced mode if you want to turn off settings like WPS, uPNP and guest access if you want to secure your router. Once set up I'm happy with the overall performance of the R7000. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-06-14 09:30 AM

Cons: 5.0ghz distance weak (however to be expected compared to the 2.4ghz band)Firmware is a working progress

Pros: Excellent Signal Strength & distance in the 2.4ghz bandEasy to setupFirmware setup in an intuitive way
Comment:
I upgraded from a D-Link DIR-655, and made a world of a difference. I have an all around brick house, and had a hard time to get any type of decent wireless connectivity outdoors 30ft away from the house, with this bad boy I average 3 out of 4 bars 100ft away in the 2.4ghz band with laptop, Android phones & tabs. I have to limit my 5.0ghz usage indoors however as it is weak once outside. The firmware feels intuitive to me, however playing around with the wizard and some settings, it is clear the firmware still needs some tweaking. The router size is bigger than the average, almost as big as a 14'' laptop, however it wasn't an issue for me as I have mine wall mounted. My torrents are faster, feels like my games ping is also a little better as well. All around a great buy even for it's pricey price point vs. some of the other guys out there. Great quality finish, ports are well spaced so once all connected it doesn't become a "real estate" fight back there.A+++

Cons: no fine tuning capabilities, can't limit bandwidth to users by IP or MAC actually can't limit at all.

Pros: Great quality, decent range, 4 networks at the same time (2x2G + 2x5G) and all works perfectly in the same time. Don't need extender anymore. works great for HD movie streaming over network
Comment:
Overall I like this device. no network interruptions since I first installed it and never lost an internet connection as well. Also allowed me to get rid of extender since the signal is quite powerful. To enjoy full power of this guy I had to buy ASUS AC1300 PCI wifi card and the speed is great from one end of the house to another end on the second floor were my office is the signal is 2-3 bars but around 565 Mbps. No any lag in the games. My biggest concern is that you can't do fine tuning to it. essentially can't limit bandwidth to different users and can't do real traffic control per user even though it tells you overall traffic.

Cons: Pricy but worth it

Pros: Great for streaming, gaming prioritization, lots of options with vanilla firmware
Comment:
Got this to replace an aging Linksys WRT54GL. Dual band works great and the range is good, not spectacular, for a two-storey house. I stream 1080p movies all the time over my media center network and this router is awesome for that.No point paying premium for AC when N will still be the standard for at least a couple more years.

Had this router for 3 weeks. Dropped internet connection to both wired and wifi connections. Wifi is strong though, up to 30 ft away.

Cons: AirPlay doesn't work, issues with OBI VOIP

Pros: Good Coverage
Comment:
I'm coming from a netgear WNDR3700 that all of a sudden stopped working with some wireless devices. This is a fairly good router, but there are issues. The first one being that AirPlay doesn't work with this router. It is a known issue that you can not use an iPad or iPod touch, etc. to connect to a Wired or Wireless AppleTV if your device is running IOS 6. Some of my IOS devices are not upgradable to IOS 7, so AirPlay doesn't work with them. Hopefully a future firmware update  will fix this.I couldn't get my OBITalk VOIP box to work with this. It did work with my previous router without any issues. I swapped in a Linksys VOIP adapter and it worked fine. One day when the phone system isn't critical I'll try to debug, but I was thinking it would just work, as the old router did. Overall, it seems the firmware is a work in progress. They seemed to have rushed the hardware out without doing proper QA of the firmware.

Cons: First unit died under 30 days of use...

Pros: FAST, RANGE, heavy & feels solid, nice web interface with a lot of features
Comment:
Bought this to upgrade my Dlink DGL-4500 and the range you get with this one is spectacular. The ability to have 2 bands simultaneously is also nice because old router needed to have only one set at time. I have a 2 story house and the router is installed under the stairs in the basement but on the 5GHZ band i can easily stream 1080P content with my iPad Mini Retina, iPhone 5 and laptop in the complete opposite corner of the 2nd story. The interface is nice and you have a ton of options that you can set.The bad thing is that the 1st unit died under 30 days but as usual, the NCIX rma process was excellent. 1 day after receiving the bad unit they shipped a new unit with express shipping. Great job guys! Hope that the bad unit was only a lemon because i really like this router.
