I purchased this motherboard in January and wrote a review saying that it was excellent but that I couldn't get the sound card to function.. Here's why:You have to install each the X-Fi drivers and the SoundMax drivers. I somehow assumed the SoundMax drivers have been for onboard sound, which this mobo doesn't truly have. See, the X-Fi drivers offer the fundamental access, BUT this mobo's X-Fi relies on the CPU for the actual perform, for which you require the SoundMax drivers.Find out FROM ME See Pros See Pros

I was in truth delivered a motherboard. That was all I got. Period. I was going to get the Asus P6T delux and saw this as an open box item for the identical cost. I am prepared to accept that it is not going to be a excellent item since there was a discount but the box had the motherboard and nothing else. No face plate even. No cords. No manual. No application. No audio output. I am mad adequate that I dont consider I will under no circumstances order from newegg once again and I've built my final three computers with them. I especially ordered my ram from the MoBo supported ram and it is not supported my the other boards I am seeking at so to RMA each will cost me like ninety dollars. As issues are returning the MoBo alone will cost me forty 5 dollars and Im not confident yet but I doubt they spend shipping and handling.... some motherboards price much less that what I will have to pay to RMA it. I dont fully grasp how their return policy can state that all returns must include all original products and accessories and yet they send out an open box item with definitely no "accessories".

I think this would be a very good board if you are lucky to get one particular that functions. May have greater odds in Vegas although. I recently purchased this mobo when obtaining a lot of other parts throughout Newegg’s black Friday sale. Upon getting all the parts and putting it with each other nothing was displayed…. I believed perhaps my video card was undesirable but soon after trying multiple distinct videos cards in every PCI slot I discovered that none of them worked. I systematically replaced just about every element in the computer and nonetheless nothing at all. I named Asus tech help and soon after waiting 10 mins to speak with a representative I received no helpful guidance except “It could be anything.” And upon calling Asus a second time a lady answered and asked if they could get in touch with me back I stated certain and have not received a get in touch with back and that was 5 days ago.So as a last resort I paid some specialist laptop techs ๖ to see if they could find something incorrect and they confirmed the motherboard was indeed faulty and additional told me they have seen this exact same challenge with the Asus PCI slots getting fault quite a few times just before... Now I have spent many discovering the dilemma, spent dollars to get further tips that Asus couldn’t present, and now have to spend for shipping to RMA this back and wait even longer. Thank you Asus for wasting my time and money. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. I would like to operate with you to aid resolve this challenge. Please get in touch with us at OC_Support@asus.com and reference case quantity NE0115 so that we could help you with the RMA approach and in resolving this problem.Best Regards,ASUS Support Team

Wonderful layout, board is created with higher quality components. Overclocking is effortless even if it is your initial time. I did not know something about laptop components but this board produced it simple for me to build and place a computer together. I like the bios is very user friendly. Once I got this board running almost everything fell into spot very nicely. six memory slots supporting up to four GB every single. I 7 920 overclocks like a beast on this board have it up to 4 GHZ devoid of breaking a sweat. As I said just before I make this personal computer with out understanding anything. The initially time I attempted to post it failed me miserably. I referred to as Asus. They troubleshoot with me for less than five minutes and had me RMA right away. New board arrived identical challenge. I did some investigation and realized that the EATX connector was not plug to the PSU. A organization as Asus that builds such good MBs, Why not invest 5 minutes extra to make confident everything is connected accordingly. I also experienced Various weeks of BSODS related to hardware specially due to the sound card. I known as them they wanted to RMA once more the whole board This persons are RMA content beware. Do your investigation study the manual cautiously and google a lot you will not regret it due to the fact the techs at ASUS have extremely limited knowledge and quick patience with their buyers. The bios possibilities are fantastic. There are various strategies to go about overclocking your method. The thick design of the key board is wonderful particularly if you are going to be making use of heavy vidcards. IMO the extra application like ASUS suite and the other overclocking utilities are kinda lame. I nonetheless can't get the PROBEIT utility to perform with my Win7 setup. I'm nevertheless not impressed with any full-board waterblocks that are obtainable for this board. The tweak it function from the board appears cool, but I will never use it. If you genuinely want to dial in your BIOS you will have to do it just like any other board..... in BIOS. All the LEDs, buttons, and switches make the board appear a small toyish. Reminds me of Optimus Prime.

More characteristics than you can shake a stick at. Amazing design and style. Massive size tends to make it impossible to use the behind-the-motherboard-tray cable management provided by my Antec Nine Hundred Two. That's why this motherboard was docked an egg. I get a BIOS error that I can't figure out how to turn off due to the truth that I have a CPU Cooler fan that's not connected straight to the motherboard given that it utilizes a complete size energy connector. But that's a minor nuisance.

I WILL NOT Obtain Yet another ASUS Item. I have 25 years encounter as a Network Engineer and I have employed Asus items for more than 12 years. I utilised to swear by them till my current knowledge. Their boards applied to be rock solid and I was replacing a beautifully running P5N32SLI with an Asus Rampage two. I did see some individuals had problems but you can in no way actually tell if it’s a solution challenge or a user concern. I’m confident this board runs nicely when it runs but if you have to deal with an Asus Tech, you’re greater off throwing out the board and cutting your losses, in particular if you have to do a second RMA. I received my 1st board from Tiger Direct (Bought 1 from New Egg too for a buddy and this is why you are reading this right here) and I ought to have known I was going to have an challenge considering that the board had the most current bios loaded. I am not positive if this was an Asus or Tiger challenge, but I doubt this board was new simply because this would be the first board I ever received with most recent Bios already installed. The board had stability problems and when I went to ship it back, I had located my wife had pulled off the upc code on the box and that I would want to do an RMA. Luckily, a buddy had the exact same board as me so I wouldn’t get into the Asus tech help “I’m not confident what the challenge is” game. The 1st RMA was smooth; they cross-shipped the board. Because the other board was just getting concerns, I still had a semi useable laptop. The RMA board arrived and I pulled it out of the box. It had a sheen of dust on it and first thought was OH BOY here we go. I burned the board in for 2 hours it Died. I Named RMA once again and talked with Brian at extension 4139. He stated the boards have had difficulties with ram and these are picky. He suggested installing 1 stick of ram and to pull the battery. I did and the board was nonetheless dead. Brian then told me even though they don’t normally cross ship merchandise, in this case, he would cross ship a new board simply because mine abruptly died. They sent me a return label and I was told that once they saw my board registered as shipped back, they would ship out of the replacement. Please note that this was over a week ago and now I have been without having a residence computer system for 2 weeks. I called just about every day left messages and voice mails for updates on the new board and Brian assured me it’s going out and that he was a manager who had been there 9 years. When I nonetheless did not acquire any emails or phone calls about the cross-ship, I named once again and he assured me he will appear into the situation and get in touch with me. Never ever received a contact back.

The bios also enables for deciding on the x21 multi with no getting forced to run SpeedStep (EIST and C1E). At present running air cooling with a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme (TRUE).Note: I got this board as an Open Box and have not had a single situation with it. Common ASUS item, prime notch, and even shipped with the most current bios. Straightforward set up and overclocking characteristics off the charts. Most up-to-date intel x58 chipset drivers from asus didn't look to set up adequately in Win 7 64bit. Get the chipset driver straight from intel and you're fantastic to go.Also, this board is slightly wider than common atx kind issue. If utilizing an Antec 1200, you can nevertheless route wires and cables out the back, all except the key power supply to the board. As soon as in a when everybody gets a undesirable board, and it's always a headache. Should be kept in thoughts when reading critiques. It's even happened with ASUS, but each they, and newegg stand by their merchandise. So, very good luck to these with troubles.

Mobo appears wonderful. Also looks like overclocking will be a snap. Received this mobo with a Asus EAH4890 Graphics card that was DOA. Through the set up I discovered that the sound card that is included with the Rampage II Extreme can not be installed simply because the Asus EAH4890 graphics card extends over the sound card slot. Who would consider that buying a mobo and graphics card from the identical manufacture would outcome in this type of problem!

You want overall performance? You want overclocking options out the wazoo? Choose this board! I've constructed my own Computer's now for about 10 years now and I've constantly used ASUS boards. The board has a good appear, a lot of LED's to indicate the technique status and efficiency, and a bios that lets you manage each and every frequency known to man! Just be carefull, the bios can be a little overwhelming so take your time and read the book! Placing an SLI setup in this board will be BOSS! I've got ƒ) GTX 470 SC. in SLI and runs pretty much something you can throw at it. I left ASUS as soon as, and rapidly came back.... You won't be dissapointed. Layout. I was a small unhappy to see that the PCIE x 1 slot that you have to use was situated above the first PCIE 16X slot which was then blocked by a massive southbridge heatsink! Then, ASUS tries to get you to use some small little sound card that convieniently fits in that space and they try to pass it off as an XFI item. Negative ASUS!!!! I've got an PCIE XFI TITANIUM and I was not about to give that energy property up. All you gotta do is bend about 5 of the prongs on the heatsink ( which bend very easily ) and the card match in beautifully. other than that, nothing at all else. A bit pricey, but you get what you spend for, you want high quality, ya gotta pay for it.

Got the Mobo on an open box specific, its fantastic, it most likely even functions The unique open box I ordered integrated the mobo, and only the mobo. When this is a risk connected with open box, numerous of the 'accessories' I would contemplate an integral aspect to the operation of the board, not just to enable 'features'. Will rewrite critique when my unopened box gets right here for evaluation. The package also had the tape broken on a single side, and was left upside down. Very nicely packed with paper although so doubt any harm was carried out.

This board is wonderful, and i truly want to get it. Very first, the sound card isn't that great, nevertheless i can choose up a new a single no issue. I can see appropriate off that if i place two video cards the incorporated sound card won't match, and the pci slot will be covered and useless as properly. This indicates i can no longer have either Sweet sound or i have to run a cable by way of my living room to my area to have online; since i can't have a wifi card. How am i supposed to use pci slots if there aren't any, and have excellent video. I have looked at superior boards as effectively and they don't have pci slots at all. Is video sufficient for the world? Do they not care about wifi, or sound anymore? I want to acquire this board since it is a single of the best. i can't bucause I adore surround sound, and i really like wireless internet and networking. If anybody knows of a board that is just as fantastic and has at "least" 2 pci slots then i would adore to know.

I bought this mother board in November final year for a develop over the Christmas Holiday. I received my package from The Egg, i7, memory, a couple raptors, 64bit OS, and the rest of the stuff that is expected for a smoking machine. I opened the package like a tiny kid and a big smile came across my face. This has to be a single of the greatest hunting mother boards that I have ever seen. After I took inventory of all that was in the red box I noticed that there was no sound card, and the set up manual was missing. My joy turned to panic it was Friday night I would have to wait till Monday to speak to ASUS. This board is incredible lots of fantastic over clocking alternatives. Very good to look at. I called ASUS and explained to them my dilemma, the witch on the other finish said I’m sorry my sweetie but Newegg sells open box products and you will have to RMA your board back to them. HEE!! HEE!! And flew off on her broom stick. Newegg was excellent issued an RMA sent me another board. 14 operating days after I initially bought it my rig it was up and operating. All was properly, that was till I wanted to upgrade to 12 gigs on memory. OH NO? You’re kidding me a dead memory slot? My big dollar rig is turning into a nightmare. I contact ASUS and get RMA #. After an hour in support and an hour in telephone dead zone waiting for an ASUS RMA representative to pickup. I explained that I would like to obtain a new board if feasible. Positive, we’ll gladly send you a new board or a affordable facsimile ASUS replies. I give them my credit card details and agree to the 2day ship solution. The replacement shows up as promised. But it won't post DOA. Get in touch with ASUS for a different RMA. another 2hr. wasted of my life. The representative was quite understanding and asked if I would like a cost-free shipping label. I was happy I wouldn’t have to pay for shipping at least. She stated to include things like my original RMA board and save the shipping costs call ASUS with verification that Fed Ex had the boards and they would cross ship me a replacement board. I did! They didn’t! 28 days I waited with no response or mother board. I was receiving nervous I named "yes we received your boards," I named once more exactly where is my board, I wrote and told them I hadn’t received my replacement board. Then ultimately I was able to get in touch with somebody who was really beneficial and 2 week later I got my board. Just about two months of waiting. I have often utilized ASUS in my builds and adore this product. But will regrettably consider twice about buying an additional. ASUS WE Really like YOUR Solutions Repair THE Support!
