Operates incredibly well with the m0n0wall router/firewall software. Had to set up the heatsink myself. It's as straightforward as peeling the tape and sticking it on, but nonetheless, I shouldn't require to do this.

-Little, heat sink optional-Contains low profile bracket-Straightforward set up for Vista. -None so far. I had to Configure the NIC settings to 1.0Gbps from the default Auto Negotiation setting. Vista kept showing the network as one hundred.Mbps. When configured, there was a noticeable speed difference ƘGB file took 4 minutes rather of 15 minutes to transfer). So if you're receiving speeds that don't seem any different, verify your configuration, driver and so on.Ought to I don\'t forget, in a week I'll post an update.

I liked the low profile and have constantly had great luck with this brand of nic. purchased two cards to support out with virtualization, neither would function together in the identical machine and then they would not operate with a virtualization environement in contrast to other gig cards from rosewill which were plugged in and they worked appropriate away. I read the specs but and decide on the cards based on the specs, the disc that came with it is totaly useless in server 2008 R2. everytime I attempted to repair the problem the disc would say it was not for this OS. I even attempted it in win 7 and it failed, it did run for 2 hours but at 10 megs not gig. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Client,Thank you quite much for buy the RC-400. Cheap. soon after substantially trying to enhance the speed (I even changed my switch to a high end HP ProCurve switch) on my network, I have concluded that with 50ft Cat6 cabling, this card does not execute as it should. I does not get any larger than 120Mbit/s, whereas a laptop with an Intel Gigabit card gets over 500Mbit/s more than the same cable (which is not amazing but a whole lot far better). I am replacing all of these cards with an Intel PWLA8391GT. iperf -c homeserver -w 128k -P 1 -t five------------------------------------------------------------Client connecting to homeserver, TCP port 5001TCP window size: 128 KByte------------------------------------------------------------󞨠] regional 10.100.100.240 port 3779 connected with ten.100.100.242 port 5001[ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth󞨠] .- five.three sec 75.9 MBytes 121 Mbits/secThis was a waste of my time and money. Gigabit, price tag, heatsink, indicator lights Only con is no huge name backing it There is a different evaluation where a single user was only in a position to obtain somewhat horrible prices with this card. I have not been able to obtain a gigabit signal via any of the CAT6 cables that I have, only CAT5e, and on several NICs (onboard, and so on). When it is written in the regular that you need to have atleast CAT5, I assume that CAT5e would have solved his difficulty. If he would have checked the status of the card it would have probably been running at one hundred Mbps or Complete Duplex 200 Mbps...

None, Thought it was undesirable, Had the unit for a year, Rosewill supplied to RMA. Upgraded my Powersupply and it all operates good. (this card was the straw that broke the energy supply's back)

I've had practically no problems with this. I truly purchased two. For the price tag, they are great. I got it on a black friday unique for dirt inexpensive. Soon after downloading the most recent drivers from RealTek, I installed in two computer systems. It works in a single and has no had a single hiccup. I connect at Gigabit speed and can transfer files and am only limited by hard drive speed. However the other computer system with the second card won't connect at all. I consider it is the laptop. I tested the card in the operating computer system and had no issues. None truly. Maybe there's a compatibility issue with older computers? Get it if you want a good gigabit card.

Worked as expected. Half year later its dead. At first I had sporadic network drops. Then I notice that its only connecting at 100 Mbps alternatively of 1000. Ultimately, no connection at all. I tested the ports on the router as nicely as the mobo PCI ports, they all checked out ok. I replaced it with an old and dusty NetXtreme gigabit card from another computer and it got me back in small business. I paid 10 dollars for the Rosewill card so its not unexpected that it would fail at some point but not under a year! The card was employed in a NAS which is only ever turned on through the weekends. So in reality, this card failed way sooner than what is 6 months.

Installation incredibly effortless as Vista was capable to set up compatable drivers. Functions like a cham on my 10럼񲿘 network as substantial transfers among machines and storage devices are a breeze. No difficulties to report whilst browsing the internet. NONE, operate as expected with faster transfer prices as a bonus. Received great customer service from both Newegg and Rosewill when initial card I received stopped operating. Was issued and RMA with no any hassel and of course extremely promptly!!!

Inexpensive, lots of blinkenlites. Guidelines didn't inform me where the heat sink really should be attached. I chose the chip with the most leads. Bought this when the onboard LAN of my ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX died the initially time. Purchased a new ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX when I awaited my RMA return. When the LAN port on the second board died, I installed this card and I'm happy.

Excellent card, popped it in and it worked, got a complete 1Gbps network now and I couldn't be happier. I am able to now steam stuff more than my network and coupled with Rosewills surprisingly outstanding Wireless N router, even my laptops are getting killer transfer rates. Vista x64 drivers have been a bit really hard to come by but most people dont give 64bit a nod. From a fairly unknown supply I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Place this card in to get gigabit because the board only supported 100mbps. This card will transfer at however rapid your difficult drives are. Copying data from my Server with 2 250GB Seagates in a RAID0 to a Samsung Spinpoint f4 320gb drive at 125MB/s. Superb! none 1000 megabits per second converted to megabytes is 125MB/s. This card will reach the limit and keep it completely and reliably. As long as the machines your sending and getting data from have hard drive configurations that exceed one hundred-120MB/s. You will reach the 1Gbps limit. Which is quite rapid network speeds.

- Rapid: capable to download and serve an HD excellent stream at the exact same time (see test in other thoughts)- Low-cost- includes low profile bracket- WOL I had to download the newer driver from their site to get Wake-On-LAN (WOL) working I purchased this to test and see if one particular box could serve as a download manager plus serve a single 1080p HD stream to a HTPC.Supply method: AMD XP 2100+ Ƒ.67Ghz single core), 1MB RAM, XP Pro SP3 and PATA drives.Blueray 񡺸p + audio) has a spec max bandwidth of 54Mbit meaning 6.75MB/s.Even though the supply program ran a 300kb/s down, 20kb/s up torrent on our DSL connection I was capable to study a file from yet another personal computer at 9.8MB/s, nicely above the bandwidth needed for Blueray! This is using 7k jumbo frames and a Linksys WRT600N router. With out jumbo frames the transfer speed dropped to just above 6MB/s.I was obtaining far better speeds, in upwards of 18MB/s, with the driver that comes with CD but had to set up the newer one particular from their website for WOL assistance to operate.

4 LIGHTS! WHOAAAA!!!! I have Mac ten.6.two and there aren't ANY drivers beyond 10.four. So it doesn't operate. Sees the card, won't give me a great IP address. I'll go to utilized computer system store and appear for an old a single for five b ucks. I ended up putting it in my media computer system-to-super Pc for a more rapidly than 100mb connection, as I was acquiring from my 100mb router. So I had a very good use for it I guess.O M G the lights, so great, i turned my computer around so I could see it in bed. man o man!

Cost-effective for upgrades and fixes. Low-profile card comes with low-profile bracket adapter. Optional heat-sink also incorporated, just peel and stick. I would probably obtain these again in the future when necessary. None. I purchased 8 of these cards a little more than a year ago and all are nevertheless operating wonderful. I utilized some to upgrade a couple of old Dell Optiplex 170 and GX280 desktops operating XP that didn't have gigabit adapters and other people I use when the built-in ones fail (and they do, even on Dell's Precision line). I by no means use the CD's that come with most solutions - just download the most up-to-date drivers to avoid concerns.
