Even so there does seem to be a on / off switch in the rear of the enclosure for this. It would be nice to have them dim whilst idle and an option to brighten them up in the course of disk activity. This is an superb enclosure and fits well with my antec 900 case. The pro's certainly outweigh the cons and I am putting an order for a second a single soon. At 贒 this is a bit high priced, but it is fantastic quality and gets the job completed. specs: gigabyte p55a-ud3 rev2 and antec 900 gen 1 case.

The unit is created from both stamped steel, aluminum and plastic. Although the plastic does really feel thin in a couple of locations it does not take away from the functionality nor does it trigger the unit to have any concerns. I have the unit filled with four X 2TB Hitachi drives and the drives run at 82*F in the course of standard operations. This is in fact cooler than the other disks in my computer and the fan is on the 'low' setting.As the description shows each tray has its own energy on/off switch, energy/drive activity LED, and has the capability to guarantee the tray stays put (they call it a lock).All 4 drives are powered by either 2 X molex connectors OR two X SATA connectors, you do not hook up each. Standard molex connectors fit without modification and power the unit without problems.The fan is quieter than the others in my case and moves plenty of air to maintain the drives cool.I have this hooked up to a 3ware RAID controller and there are no troubles passing by way of the unit. The tray locks are not Genuine locks so you cannot stop a person from turning the lock and opening the tray.Some laptop or computer situations will require modification to the 5.25" bays in order for this to fit properly.
