Moves a lot of air, very quiet operation, and also, on a cosmetic note, it looks kind of cool if you have your case off as mine generally is. Socket A, so it is a discomfort to install. I also get a CPU fan failure warning on occasional bootups. This is extremely sporadic, nevertheless and when the computer reboots it starts up fine. This is the only cause for the non-5 egg rating. Substantially better than the stock fan for my Athlon, which is nice simply because it runs about 40 degrees cooler. Advisable to anyone.

super fast delivery. looks excellent. appears to be carrying out the job. can't beat the บ price tag. appears like it won't have the design and style flaws my other fan had (other one particular collected huge dust within fan and fins). LOUD. loud loud loud... like- just below a dust buster or small hair dryer...quite disappointed since this was the sole purpose I got a new fan. Got this to replace my Cooler Master squirrel cage cooler. it was not broken, but was about to break my relationship with my girlfriend as it is extremely loud and we are now sharing a household office. Just knew practically nothing could be as loud as that...properly...not so...this a single is just as loud...sigh. guess i will have to get a new pc... ....or new girlfriend.

not that loud, and personal computer could keep on. idle temp was 60C for athlon xp 3000+. gaming would place it above 70C. Specs claim cpu can stand up 95C, but anytime the cpu gets above 60C performance degrades swiftly. i have removed the unit immediately after month or so and not seeing the temp ever reach beneath 57C. went back to the old hsf, it's loud but keeps the cpu about 50C. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer,We are sorry for the inconvenience this might have brought on you. We attempt to present the most dependable products to our buyers. High quality building in my opinion, excellent low price tag, it's a socket A ! Who even tends to make these anymore!? Challenging as heck to get on my board, was worried that the socket and/or CPU would get crushed under the force I needed to apply. Never purchased Rosewill just before, and so far it's an ok piece of hardware.Gigabyte 700n-L1

Good fan, not a cooling monster, but good and quiet. System runs a couple degrees warmer than with this fan than with the Thermaltake Volcano 11 it replaced, but the distinction it sound is worth it, it no longer sounds like I'm sitting subsequent to a jet engine. See Cons section

This was Specifically what I want somethign quiet! It is quiet and cools an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ @ 31CኴF right after 48 hours. ONLY cause I gave it 4 eggs rather of five eggs was the reality the bracket had to be bent a tiny to get it to grab onto my Socket462. I'm speaking just a tiny. I'm not confident if mine was defective or not, but I created it function, and am content with the outcomes. Bracket may be challenging to install on Socket462. affordable thermal grease + thermaltake Volcano 6Cu+ idled @ 47C렌F.Artic Silver + plus this ฟ heatsink/fan combo 48 hours later idles @ 31CኴF in an 78F room.

Quiet and effective. After installing on an Athlon 2000+ I could barely inform that the fan was operating. What a pleasant alter from the old stock fan/heatink. A great deal for the value. It is pretty substantial so be positive your system has sufficient space to fit anything in. Remove the fan from the heatsink just before mounting the heatsink to the CPU. You'll save your self a lot of aggravation.

WOW!i in no way knew what i was missing utilizing the stock AMD cooler, i recently got this, and before couldnt overclock much more than two.2-2.3ghz devoid of my computer becoming unstable (IDLE)NOW!i overclocked to about two.six+GHZ, at Beneath 40 degrees celcius (just about 98 farenheit) the thermal paste currently on was a SUPER bonus, bring about i was out at my home, this is fairly significantly the Very best socket A cooler out ther, and at 15$, you cant beat it, i know socket a is dead/dying, but if its all you have, you need to go with this tough down. i By no means really realized how much of a pain it was to install socket A cooling fans until now, fairly substantially do this 1 time only, bring about you wont want to do it again, i wish there was an simpler method for attaching these. but out of things that this cooling fan can handle, it is quite much the ideal. socket A, is pretty substantially dead, but for the value/performance of this cooler, you can beat it, particularly for overclocking, i cant wait to get my computer system up and running completely ƒgb of high overall performance MUSHKIN ram coming in the mail)essentially, obtain this, and be content.

It spins On installation the very crucial piece of metal you want pressure with a screwdriver broke off. Do you know how difficult it is to put this old-fasion stuff with each other as it is? 1st Rosewill purchase, 2nd Rosewill item. The 1st was a wireless keyboard/mouse combo for free that you have to put the keyboard on best of the receiver to get it to work. Rosewill=cheep=junk. It suprises me that NewEgg would even carry this solution line.

Keeps CPU Very cool Like other individuals have mentioned, a bit tricky to set up Removing the fan for install is a Have to, otherwise, the fan could be cracked by your flat head screwdriver while attaching the fan. I have had no challenges with the quantity of pressure the fan puts on the chip like other individuals have--just install cautiously like any other 462 fan and you will be all set. Also, this fan DOES NOT run at 21.5 db at complete speed, but is still a lot quieter than my old fan. Keeps my AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Barton beneath 40C at full fan speed and keeps it about 42C at 1500RPM. At 1500RPM I can barely hear the fan.

Remarkable fan. I can't hear it at all, and my old Athlon XP rated at 1250MHz and OC'ed to 2083MHz in no way gets above 50C, even beneath complete load. Outstanding fan, particularly for the price. It nevertheless doesn't alter the fact that I'm operating a terrible ten-year-old Socket A method. Fantastic fan has pre-installed thermal pad. When I start my machine I hear virtually absolutely nothing just the low hum of the energy supply. Makes the room a LOT quieter compared to a coolermaster 2600+ rated fan. My computer cpu heat alarm under no circumstances made a peep at its lowest alarm setting. Expense was ok, would have paid a lot more for this thinking of the benefits. Nearly too large to match, barely fits along rows of capacitors. No directions, your on your personal. I had to remove the fan from the heatsink in order to fasten the clips. The fan screws to the heatsink straight no threads, I recommend becoming gentle reinstalling it. Place a greater clip on it and add ŭ.00 to the value. Do not add any thermal grease it will overheat your processor and burn it up as it is already on the heat-sink. Install it with the suitable orientation to the socket.

Strong cooling functionality, not silent but impressively quiet, good bang for the buck if you still want to preserve your old Athlon XP rigs running. To get the impressively quiet overall performance, the heatsink is massive and it attributes a bigger, reduced RPM fan. There could be installation challenges on motherboards with lots of capacitors and other fiddly bits near the CPU socket and removal of the fan is fundamentally necessary. Neither of these had been an situation for me. Installation was a slight pain, but that's the fault of the old Socket A a lot more than this product. Also, this doesn't cool fairly as efficiently as the old Vantec Aerocool TMD that it replaced... but the Vantec unit started to sound like a hair dryer, vacuum cleaner and some stray cats possessing a fight inside my Pc case. I'll gladly take a slight drop in cooling performance for about a 200% reduction in noise. I purchased two of these to quiet down old Athlon based PCs whose only challenge was becoming too loud. So far, 1 has been installed and I'm satisfied. The cooling performance may only be excellent and not good, but combined with the quiet operation and this solution is quite much worthy of 5 eggs.

Copper base, good fan, reasonably quiet, great clamping force. I had larger expectations. The building appears strong and higher good quality. I expected this cooler to reduce the CPU temps by at least 7-8°C over the stock unit, on the other hand it idles and loads amongst 1-two°C cooler. Thermal compound utilised was Arctic Silver 5. My setup is an XP 2500+/Gigabyte GA-7VAXP running at stock speeds. In my opinion this cooler is worth the dollars only if your OEM cooler has failed, or you need to have a quieter setup.

The fan is quiet, due to the massive size and slower RPM. The heatsink is the biggest that can be mounted on a Socket A motherboard. Together, it cools slightly much better and is much quieter than I had on the board before. Well worth the work to purchase and set up. The fan's plastic mounting frame had a defect. The mounting was slightly oval shaped, which triggered the ends of the fan to slightly strike it, causing a smaller quantity of noise. Appears like a plastic mold manufacturing difficulty. The heatsink was fine. Rosewill handled the warranty really well. I contacted them by e-mail and they arranged for a complete new fan & heatsink to be sent to me without any charge. I am extremely pleased with the way they handled my complaint. I also did not have to return the defective fan, saving me that trouble.

Lowered my temps 20* C at the lowest setting on my 2500+. Then I bumped the processor up two speeds to the standard speed and it was nonetheless ten degrees cooler than the lowest setting with the original cooler. Its quite quiet and also comes with thermal paste preapplied. A little tough to set up, but not any worse than any other socket A cooler. Taking the fan off very first made it a lot easier.

Incredibly quiet and efficient cooling, even with supplied thermal paste. Slightly much better cooling than my old TT volcano 7 + Arctic silver and significantly quieter. I can barely hear it. A bit challenging to install I had to use a fine grained sandpaper to remove some smaller imperfections from edges of the fins of the fan.As other people have suggested removing the fan from the heat-sink is essential. Make confident to pay focus to the tightness of the screws, if you place it on to tight there will be friction between parts of the fan. Also be careful not to squeeze the power cables among the heat-sink and fan socket when putting it back into spot.

I run an Athlon XP 2500 on Asus a7n8x. I was having thermal cut off troubles when watching videos on line like utube or google in full screen. But based on BIOS temperatures, it dropped my CPU temp from 58 to 51C (Using arctic silver). So far no thermal shutdowns. Its rather large, and you ought to remove the fan prior to installing. Bottom surface could have been machined smoother. But it fit my old board. The clip is a terrible design and style, but all heat sinks for this socket are stuck with the design. Quieter than the old fan, and cools better.

Not very sure but given that it doesn't work. I got this simply because the specs say it moves a lot of air and it is whisper quiet. I couldn't get my machine to POST with the fan plugged into the CPU fan power. It's a Soyo KT600 Dragon Ultra with an Athlon XP 3200+. With the cooler installed and plugged into a different power source and my old cooler plugged into the CPU fan power it'll boot fine. For 20 bucks it's not worth the hastle to RMA it. Really quiet, and apparently incredibly great cooling ability. Took some time to finagle on (had to apply a lot of pressure), otherwise no cons! This heatsink is a great value! My loud household server is now so quiet you can barely hear it from a foot away. In general, CPU temp seems to have gone done a few degrees.
