Cons: Problem of power supply report get to hot.I use the auto shut off and auto on to keep unit cool at night and ready in working time.The unit keep running cool and work good for now.
Pros: Fast connection Gigabite, hot swap disk, fast response and transfert. lot of vesality to use at home as media center. |

Cons: the management interface is not very handy and slow. an extra drive would be nice to have to make raid 5 with 5 drives for maximom storage ussage.price is a bit elevated.
Pros: does lots of network protocols for sharing files at a great speed even when degraded. Comment:
It's a great nas for home, i believe that this was the only purpose. drives can fail no problem in there without you loosing any data(drives one at the time after it's sync). add-ons might be weak, but seriously this is a storage machine, have a device that can browse network drives and performance is great even at 100Mb |

Cons: Slimserver add-on performance, Itunes setup. No Ipod Sync with Itunes server addon.

This is simply a great NAS as a SOHO NAS goes. X-RAID is great and Netgear has done a decent job of picking up after picking up Infrant. Warning to all customers, the only big issue with this device is the Slimserver, do not expect slimserver to perform like on a PC, the web interface is very slow and bogs out with 5000+ songs. That said, if you are not going to focus on media streaming this device is awsome. I have had one at work for 6 months and then bought one for myself at home. |
I use that unit at the office it make a great job is fast not to noisy. Great backup and storage of valuable data.I like that unit and i recommand it.
