Cons: None.

Pros: Quiet, relatively cheap.
Comment:
Got one to replace an aging stock AM3 fan. This fan is quiet, and brought down the temperature by 5 degrees. Fan was bigger than expected, but thats not a con.

For $23, I was able to run my old PC cooler from 55 degrees down to 42 degrees. No complaints for the price paid. Would definitely purchase again.

Cons: hard to line up the 4 inserts with the 4 motherboard holes after screwing on the 775 tabs onto the heatsinl

Pros: cheap...comes with thermal paste...works a bit better than stock hsf
Comment:
it's fine if you're carefull but would have been much easier if the 775 tabs were already attached.By being just a touch off after you screw the tabs onto the hsf it's hard to line them up properly.

Cons: instructions are a bit iffy

Pros: good priceeasy mounting, once you get the hang of it...
Comment:
For the price you can't go wrong - much better than a stock AMD cooler, and temps dropped 1-2 degrees at idle (my case is poorly vented, so I am pretty happy with that!). Not a high-performance piece of kit, but a great add-on for a budget build.Would definitely buy again. And use less thermal compound next time.

Cons: I like double bracket holders more than single bracket but this is not a big weakness.

Pros: Installed no problems, not that big - still room for 140mm fan on side panel with haf 922 case. I hear case fans more than cpu fan.
Comment:
I was completely impressed by this cooler as I had built a computer for a friend with this cooler and idle temp was 27 degrees and full load was 42 for a quad 940 BE - is only overclocked to 3.2, I have the same cpu and tried this cooler also and got the same results, very impressive. I was a bit nervous about the heatsink not covering the cpu completely but doesn't seem to be a problem. I like the fact that you can add a second fan if necessary.

Cons: Listed as a S754 cooler. May not work with all S754 motherboards.

Pros: Unable to test. Doesn't fit my motherboard.
Comment:
It says that this CPU cooler is compatible with the AMD Socket 754. It's in that section on the NCIX website and it says so on the packaging. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with the ECS motherboard I have been assembling - model 761GX-M754 v3.0C. There are simply no brackets in the package that would work with this motherboard. I ended up installing a Zalman CNPS7500-ALCU, SKU 23473. It fit without any problems despite the large diameter. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-31-10 01:01 AM

Cons: Not the quietest thing available

Pros: Cheap, Effective, Easy to install
Comment:
Bought this for a old Pentium E2200, it isn't overclocked but with the stock heatsink and fan it was about 45 to 50 degrees idle and would reach up to 70 or 80 degrees when browsing the internet or any kind of load. Never tried to play a game on it.With this heatsink and fan it is about 17 to 22 degrees idle and about 60 - 65 degrees when prime95-ing. The instructions that come with it are useless but it is pretty easy to figure out without them.

Bought this for a mATX budget build, price matched it for $17.05. Fits in mATX case perfectly. It comes with lots of attachment for amost all cpu format. You dont realyl hear any noise from it over the video card. For sure will buy this again if im building another mATX build.

Cons: 92mm fan makes it difficult to find suitable upgradesNo backplateDeep grooves between heatpipes

Pros: Great performance for the priceInstallation a snap compared to its big brother, the Hyper 212
Comment:
I spent $17 on this heatsink. That's less than the supposedly ultra-cheap AC Freezer 7 Pro. And yet, this heatsink handily outperforms the AC Freezer 7 Pro. Handily. I've got it cooling my Phenom X4 9850+ BE, which does in fact kick up a fair bit of heat - and the heatsink is literally having no trouble with the assignment. For $17, I am extremely impressed and quite honestly surprised by how well the Hyper TX performs.A couple notes about the heatsink - it uses a single 92mm CM fan which has an interesting fin design (similar to the 120mm fan that comes with the Hyper 212) that CM claims was optimized for static pressure. The stock fan seems to work well, and while not silent, is quiet enough for me. Because it is 92mm though, this leaves me fewer options for upgrading the fan compared to a more standard 120mm heatsink, although there are some good 92mm fans available. The heatsink comes with an extra set of fan clamps so that you can install a second fan for push/pull - but good luck finding another of the CM fans that comes with it. So if you want to go the push/pull route, you'll probably have to buy two fans (note: using two different kinds of fans in a push/pull configuration creates turbulence which actually hurts performance rather than helps, and also kicks up a great deal of noise). The other issue - and this is more important - is that the base of the heatsink uses the now popular direct touch heatpipe style. In this impementation, however, the grooves between heatpipes and the base are quite large. So if you were to install the heatsink using the amount of TIM you are accustomed to using, it would almost certainly be too little, leaving a lot of coverage gaps and resulting in poor performance. You must use a lot of TIM - maybe even twice as much as usual - in order to fill up those gaps and ensure uniform coverage.Overall, for the $17 I paid - this is a great little heatsink. It can't hold a candle to its big brother, the Hyper 212 (which, I might add, is only about $10 more) - but compared to other low-budget heatsinks like the AC Freezer 7 Pro or the Scythe Katana - well, the Hyper TX simply blows them out of the water.

Cons: not as much overclock potential as more expensive models

Pros: keeps processor really cool at stock speedsnot too loud
Comment:
I have an i5 processor that I have not overclocked yet. After 45 minutes of prime95 the processor has not gone over 42 degrees C.At max fan speed it is still decently quiet, and if you are playing a game or watching a movie, the volume will drown out fan sound anyways.Definitely buy this to replace a stock cooler in any computer.

Cons: Flimsy legs

Pros: SmallQuietCools GreatGreat Price
Comment:
I bought this for a a P55/i7 rig that I built for a friend. I just wanted something better than stock cooling as she wasn't planning on overclocking. The mounting legs for the Intel sockets are quite wobbly but once mounted it was solid. Once I got the build up and running, I was amazed at how well this little cooler performed. The idle temps hovered around 30 degrees Celsius and barely budged while running anything. I haven't had a chance to see what it can do under full load, but it has certainly performed much better than I expected for such a small cooler. A great buy. Cooler Master X3 CPU cooler works good. I install it to replace the stock intel fan. And the CPU temperature drops about 7 degree. The CPU temperature now is 31. It works very good. and the price is good too. Never buy CPU cooler for over 100 dollar.
