A Mac user's review: Other products tried:all on my 2011 MacBook Pro core i7 on native OSX Lion install: DeathAdder regular, Logitech MX Performance, Logitech G700, Razer NAGA, SteelSeries WOW Cataclysm.Why I bought this:the cheapest option at sales price that will work on my MBP AND the esthetics was the least intrusive: it happens to match the MBP color scheme exactly, incld. the white glow of the Decepticon symbol and the scroll wheel.My intended usage:i'm busy with work and studies, music, volunteering work. just needed to play occasional games with my friends on a Mac. not even dedicated enough to dual booting my MBP to native Win7 for gaming, so forget about pulling my dedicated rig out of storage. If you have a lot of time to dedicated to gaming instead of learning new knowledge, getting a new degree, or whatever, you may as well spend more $ to get something longer lasting and more ergonomic.LongevityAfter reading other reviews, I don't expect to last as long as my other mice products. Important lesson for dedicated gamers:The comfortable for my medium sized hands but at full price, the logitech G series would have better ergonomics for less money. I am very picky about ergo as I use an Evoluent at work with vertical keyboard. My work station was setup by a ergo pro assessment with all Herman Miller and Human scale equipment (it took months to find every piece of equipment that would fit me perfectly), so I know what I'm talking about. If you want to avoid injury in gaming (or anything as much as possible), get an Evoluent V4. For smaller hands, get the small edition. Both are available by special order through NICX. Yes, it's over $100, but my company spent over 10 grand on my ergo station. Believe me, my injury (not gaming related but needed full ergo to avoid further injury) had me on painful therapy 5 times a week for months and my insurance spent over 10ths of thousands of dollars on my recovery and I still have issues. It's not worth risk ruining your health for saving $100 if you're going to game a lot.PrecisionThis mouse has the same great precision as the regular and black edition. I found it to be alittle more more precise than the Logitech G700 (wireless mode) with 3rd party driver on OSX Lion.Greasy feelThis edition uses a slippery material so the surface won't rub off like the black/regular edition (good). Conversely, because of the material being slippery it also feels like the mouse is slightly greased with butter or reminds me of a perpetual sweaty palm. Not a great feeling as I typically don't have sweaty palms, so it's not something I'm used to.Driver for MacRazer does have native driver under OSX, although the UI looks like a high school student's idea of a cool UI (if you've ever witnessed CORE keygen UI, you'll think the same people did Razer's). At least it works :)No firmware update r for MacCurrently cannot update  firmware in OSX, for some reason, my WinXP VM under VirtualBox could not recognize it so the firmware update  couldn't run. Might as well, if you've read reviews online, you'll know that users of DeathAdder had experienced bricking their mice during firmware flashing.Conclusion:All in all, I'm satisfied at what I got for the price (quite a bit below the current sales price). Even for my rare gaming hobby, I would not have bought this mouse at the current sales price. Mac owners: spend a bit more and go with Logitech for ergo as they seem to have the value for your money in features, ergo, and cost. For best ergo, Evoluent, for best gaming features: G700 with 3rd party drivers.
