I'll admit that using the mouse pad as a cushion pad for the entire work surface is not a popular idea, but--man, this is huge.I like the smooth surface of the speed version. It has a comfortable touch feeling. I've been using an old Mantis Control for over a year and I liked it.

Well i know back in the day, there were lots of hopefuls looking for these, myself being one of them. Well I picked up my Speed edition Alpha mat, and the news is good.First of all, Tracking. Tracking as shown in the video above is with a G5 V2. I have always had issues with tracking and a G5 when it comes to a low sensitivity in games. Ive used the Razer Mantis Control mouse pad, and an Xtract Ripper XXL "Desktop Experiance" pad. Both had similar results. Tracking sucked at low sensitivity, and Ive always blamed my mouse. But my girlfriend who was here even looked at me while i was in game, and after seeing the difference could only mutter "Holy $H17."The tracking with this mouse pad is clearly, my best experience ever. I have not used any other "Gamer Pads" other than the 2 stated above, so the likes of Func and QCK may be on par or better.The feel of this pad? The only term i can come up with is "Solid Silk" Its about 4mm thick (think a couple CD's stacked on top of each other thick.) It is smooth, fast, yet i dont find myself struggling to stop the mouse. It glides where my hand takes it, but there is very little friction. Smooth As Butter also comes to mind when sliding my mouse across the surface.If you are in the market for a new mouse pad, try this one out. at 25 (20 on sale) I would say its worth it. I am absolutely in love with this mat. I think i will need to pick up 3 more to keep as back ups :D

A great surface if you have the space for it. My opinion might not be valid because I've only ever used generic mouse pads and a hand out that had a Fatal1ty logo on it. I don't know if this really matters, but I like the fact there's no graphic on it. Might possibly pick up a control version if it goes on sale again.
