Cons: -Optical input wouldn't provide any sound-base adjustment is on the sub (not really a big deal to me, but may be to some)-I'm sure my neighbors can think of some....

Pros: -great price for the product you get!-Very nice audio quality!-volume control know is simple (some might say elegant) and nicely weighted
Comment:
I usually wait to review stuff, just in case it breaks after a bit of use. In this case, I love these speakers too much to wait! I was able to PM these to $109, so I got a pretty good deal on them based on the regular price! Part of the reason I purchased these was because they had optical input and I wanted to give that a try. Unfortunately, the optical input yielded no sound. That may be due to an error on some setting somewhere on my part though. I didn't have the patience to fiddle with it. However, the analogue inputs are just fine! Listening to some different songs, these speakers sound awesome! Very crisp sound (on par with my headphones), unlike my previous speakers. I found that I couldn't wipe the smile off my face as I was listening to them! I'm sure that there are much better speakers out there, but I don't think that any come close on the price point!I read some of the reviews that said the bass was 'weak' or 'muddy'. That has not been my experience at all! I have found it to fill the songs/audio just perfectly! It is possible that the audio card being used (or lack thereof) is the culprit. I know that my Sennheiser headphones benefited hugely in base output from my new sound card (the previous card was good, my current one better still!), so it is possible that these speakers/sub benefit from a good audio card as well.

Cons: The sticky little silicone pads on the bottom of the satellites move around on you. Talk about picky, right?

Pros: Long lasting, good sound, little to no noise.

Just so you guys know, I signed in to post my first review EVER because I saw these for cheap on the weekly deals and thought I'd chime in.For a 2.1 set of speakers for your computer, they are amazing.I've had this set for probably 4 years now, if I'm not mistaken, and they have proved their worth about 10 times over. From blasting music in the living room to subtle details in scary games, this set has proven quality. I found that these speakers don't produce noise on their own, however, a computer a lot of the time will throw noise out no matter what speakers you use, so don't listen to the reviews regarding noise.I found in the past, that hard drive seeking caused noise in my system, a good test is to use the speakers with an iPod or similar if you are looking for the source of your noise problem.

Pros: Amazing this sound is incredible, my old speakers sounded like cardboard in comparison. I have a sound blaster zx sound card and I thought they were making my old speakers sound decent I was wrong.

I'm very happy I bought these especially on boxing week special. If you're looking for a high quality pair of 2.1 these are great. I hope these things last for many years first day using so we will see.

Pros: reasonable price, blue LEDs, elegant design, awesome sound, reasonably priced

After reading around for a long time, I decided on these speakers to replace my old low-end speakers and the difference is immediately noticeable. The speaker set is heavy and has a nice quality feel to it, and the wires provided were sufficiently long to connect both satellites to each side of my 3 monitor setup. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a Toslink cable included. Best speaker set for the price? Who knows, but in my case I am very satisfied with it.

Good quality? doubtful. Is there anyone using this set for Diablo 3?These speakers go well with LOL. However, when I was playing D3 and I turned the volume to almost max, I keep hearing the electrical noise from all the speakers. The noise is very low, but when I disabled the all sound of D3, I could hear the noise very clear.Till now, I am not sure if this deficiency happens to D3 only or it might also can be found with other games.I would still say satisfied coz this set works fine with LOL.

Comment:
First off, the bad reviews are not my shared view. I'm no expert - but I know "Bad" from "good", and this speaker system has won me over. Its a simple, 2.1 audio system which is exactly what I was looking for. It looks great, it seems very well built, wonderful finish, and the sound overall is great. (Is it going to Win awards for best sounding speakers, no......) but its sounds perfect for what I'm using it for. I like music, and I play Vids, and both sound just fine. Some have reported that the sub seems to get washed out when its in use, but I didn't find that to be the case. This system came with an optical cable and a set of rca's which in my experience usually doesn’t happen, so I was somewhat impressed they supplied both kinds of cables.I've found nothing wrong with the speakers, and if they last, then it was a very wise 150 bucks spent.

I'm no audiophile but as far as sound goes, this unit is amazing. I use it for gaming, movies and just general use. I don't even use my corsair 1500 headset anymore because of this. Only issue I have is the bass control knob is on the back of the sub.

Cons: copper L/R channels wiring may be outdated but not effecting sound quality. Users would have to be careful not to accidentally pull the wiring. The connection method through the speakers could have been something more durable but that's just my personal opinion.

Pros: Quality SPDIF and Analog input options. Crystal clear sound quality. Aesthetically pleasing design in piano black. Excellent build quality - MDF wood cabin speakers/subwoofer. Ultra low noise ratio and very clean sound output. Durability and workmanship that last for years.

I pricematched this item to buy this at a good price. It really does sound pretty good. Mids and highs are great. The bass is boomy if you set it on high. But if you set it at its sweet spot, then the bass sound pretty good but not overpowering. I definetley reccomend it and I think its a good value when you buy it on sale.

Great sound quality, crisp and well-defined. Poor sound controller (sound cuts off, headphone jack doesn't connect properly always).Too bad, the product had potential but it's unacceptable to fail in the first few days of operation. NCIX was willing to RMA the product (great response as always), but I'm not wiling to take a gamble again.

Cons: headphone sound leak

Pros: Amazing sound quality
Comment:
These speakers are amazing. When listen to music at low, medium, or loud volumes. When you do play them at full blast they do lose some of their clarity, but do not crackle and do not distort, but they go really loud. When i plug in my headphones into the volume pod, sometimes there is still music being leaked from the speakers themselves still. Its really quite, but noticeable, kinda annoying. The over quality of the speakers are amazing. Digital sound input is the greatest. I use an SPDIF cable. I love how these use speaker wire for the satellites, so you can always buy different speaker wire if you need longer cables. The control pod is extremely nice. Has a really nice blue LED for the volume, i would have liked it if the location of the volume knob had a light so i know exactly how loud it is when i look at the pod. Otherwise extremely useful for controlling volume, connection headphones, and connecting any other input source for sound. I give these a 4 only because of the sound leak when the headphones are plugged in. Other wise absolutely amazing. (on the side note, i haven't heard them leak any sound when my headphones are plugged in for a week or so)

Cons: will not receive dolby input

Pros: nicely built, good finish, quality product
Comment:
Overall my first impression is that the speakers are well built. I bought this set for my Toshiba 40" LCD TV which has awful sound. I tried a few cheap surround systems and was not impressed with the sound for the money. The Edifier has as good sound one would expect for this price speakers. The bass is not overly loud yet it compliments the little speakers, which also are bass controlled by the sub dial. I'd say my Altec 5.1 system is better but also cost more money. The optical input is weaker than the RCA inputs, which surprised me. Overall range is good but the sub is kinda of boomy for talking on TV or low volume. Music sounds fine with ample bass, but the system sounds better as it's turned up. It came with a good optical cable. I'm not sure if I will keep this or invest in a better 5.1 home audio system as it's used on my family room TV. My main TV is 50" plasma with a really good 5.1 system. Not fair to compare to that I suppose.

Cons: Off button on back of sub, you must place your speakers properly to get best quality!

Pros: Good Sound, Nice bass (not overly boomy, but quality), very clear (if set up properly)
Comment:
I'm pretty new to computer speakers, so I didn't know what to expect getting new ones. When I first installed them, the speakers sounded awful compared to my cheap z323 speakers. What I didn't realize was that these edifier satellites need to be strategically placed to get optimum sound (also tweaked the EQ on my sound card). Before I realized this, I was about to return it. I am so glad that I discovered this, now I have some amazing sounding speakers. I think this item is the best value for sound!

THIS IS THE BEST SPEAKER I'VE I EVER LISTEN TO MY LIFE. the high is crips, and low is well defined. used logitech 2.1 sets, where low is just annoying thunderous. this beast here is 10 ten timese better. has multiple input, you can plug maxinum 4 devices: 1. via RCA 2. via digital input.3. via coaxial 4. via aux in on the remote control. this is the speaker people need to know when they have multiple devices such as gaming console, pc and mp3 players. the sattelite speaker is very minimlist and pose a a small profile. but guys you can easily bring your own home threater class bookshelf speakers as sattelite as the connector is just a speaker wire for both satelllite. this speaker set overall beats sp2500 due the fact you can swap your bookshelf speaker as sattelite and digital input. Go for it !!!!

Got them on sale. The speakers+sub are small and stylish but still deliver good sound. I'm using the optical cable that came with them. The speaker wires are quite long and more then adequate for any desktop setup. The seperate control pod and headphone jack is nice. The sub is a bit weak. I'm not thrilled about the low volume when headphones are connected.

Cons: If you turn the bass up too high, it can be overpowering

Pros: Great sound, good bass, wide compatibility (RCA cable, Optical), uses standard connections (Standard speaker cables, no proprietary crap)
Comment:
Got these speakers a little over a month ago, and have been very happy with them ever since. Now, keep in mind, they are only $130, so they are not going to match up to anything like reference monitors, but for what they are an what they cost, they are great. Before I got this speaker set, I was using crappy headphones all the time, so the real speakers were a real treat. They sound better than all of the crummy logitech stuff I've heard (Z623, Z2300).Recommended!
