It's a QAM tuner that does a pretty fantastic job pulling channels from cable carrier. The manual is terrible. User can\'t go to desired channel from channel menu. Remote is confusing. Lately, turning on Tv yields a gray screen with no sound. Unplugging tuner and reconnecting resolves issue. Newegg, as usually, is terrific.

Bought this along with a 24" Asus monitor to attempt to cheap out on finding an HD Television. Monitor works good on my Computer. (This is a good option for the older HDTV's with out a QAM Tuner)

Cost and appear. That's it. I received my unit and was excited about connecting it to my HD ready television. Nicely, what a disappointment. I plugged it into the composite video port of my television, and all I got was a black snowy screen with no way to see a menu. Then I tried it employing the component input of the Tv and got same final results.I went additional and tried it in other two Television's and a pc LCD monitor, and got identical results.
