Cons: Blocks RAM slots.

Pros: Very quiet, easy to install, low profile.
Comment:
I chose this cooler for an HTPC build. I am impressed with how quiet it is (can't hear it even on a test bench) and it was really easy to put together compared to other aftermarket heatsinks I have installed. My only complaint is that this heatsink blocked two of the RAM slots on my motherboard, be careful if you need all 4 slots.

Cons: - Doesn't quite fit the case I bought it for with it's included PSU (Apex MI-100BK) unless fan is removed (still a super tight fit)- Price could be lower

Pros: - Quiet- Low profile- Very efficient design- Great cooling power (though had to test this with an open case)
Comment:
Bought this for an HTPC build - unfortunately it does NOT fit the Apex MI-100BK with it's included PSU, but after removing the fan and bending some metal a bit, it fits well enough. Now the PSU sucks air right from the heatsink.I was able to keep the fan elsewhere in the case to try and improve the cooling - even though with normal loads it runs perfectly fine, using Prime95 the cpu quickly rose to +70C at which point I just stopped it.In the end, the cooler itself is very nice, and would be perfect for other builds - I unfortunately just chose the wrong case.

Cons: Maybe large for a mini-itx board

Pros: Slim and Silent
Comment:
Installed in the tv box. Cooling a second gen. i3 24/7, it is dead silent. The only drawback of this heatsink is that it cover the pci-e slot of many mini-its board. But if you use the onboard video card, this is the best you put on these...

Cons: Non sale price is pretty expensive. Also be sure to measure inside your case to make sure it'll fit.

Pros: Good for HTPC cases such as the Nmedia 2000B that I have it in.
Comment:
Bought this for my HTPC I've recently upgraded. I put in an AMD 955 BE, the stock fan for those are awful and I needed a low profile heatsink to fit in this case.I was able to get it on a price match. Seems to be good quality and cools better than the stock cooler. This also clears everything around it in my case. Notes - A back place needs to be installed on the motherboard, so that will need to come out during installation. Also it is a good idea to use the measurements in the product description to measure around the CPU area in the case to make sure it will fit.

Cons: silly mounting procedure for AMD boards

Pros: Good cooling characteristics.
Comment:
To measure the size of this put a 120mm fan overtop your CPU. It's quite large but very low profile. My only gripe is the needless backplate and terrible installation instructions.Performs, but is needlessly complicated.

Cons: Compatibility

Pros: Low profile, cost
Comment:
I would purchase this again, but only if I knew for a fact that it would work with my motherboard/case! Make sure you do your research. The included backplate does not work with the Intel 775 Mini-ITX motherboards that I have (DG41MJ, DQ45EK), as there's some big Winbond chipset on the back of the motherboard. I also have an ASUS 1155 motherboard at work I may be able to put this on, but I know already it will block the PCIe slot. The Noctua NH-L12 ($$$) includes special bolts to work around the Intel 775 backside issues. The Prolimatech Samuel 17 (NA on NCIX ATM) is designed to mount in two different orientations so as to not cover the PCIe slot.Maybe Scythe could borrow some ideas from these?

Cons: Too much noiseBlocked 2 Dimm when installing on a micro-ATX Asus FM1 motherboardInstalling this on an AMD requires 2-4 hands sometimes

Pros: Low profileWay better then stock fan
Comment:
I bought to complete my HTPC build and when I first opened the box, I was really surprised about the size of the fan. When installing it, the instructions weren't that clear for AMD. I had to figure it out by myself. It wasn't that bad since I already had an AMD before and it was pretty similar. You need to remove the mobo before installing the heatsink. You need access to the back of the mobo. The fan makes too much noise. I can't really hear it since I'm about 5-6 feet from the HTPC but when you get closer, you will hear it. Overall it's a good buy.

Cons: - Tight fit with memory

Pros: - Very Efficient
Comment:
I have been using this cooler with an Asus P8Z77/Pro and i7-3770 and it has been fantastic. I switched the included fan for a Scythe Slip Stream fan and it keeps the CPU cool with very little noise. Wait until it goes on sale as it is a fantastic cooler for a very reasonable price when it is on sale (I got it for $30).The only drawback is that with this cooler and my motherboard, memory is a very, very tight fit underneath for all but the most low-profile memory. Be aware that on some motherboards you will not be able to use overclocker memory with big fins as it will not fit.

Cons: Covers Memory slots

Pros: Quiet, cheap on sale
Comment:
Great cooler. Installation requires access to the back side of your motherboard (bracket). Installed in a Silverstone Milo ML03B low profile HTPC case. The 120mm is so big it actually covers the first 2 memory slots on my asus F1A75-M FM1 mobo. So install your memory first! Ram with big ass heatsinks on it will NOT fit under it, and will have to be put in the 3rd & 4th slots.

Cons: Heatsink covers many Motherboard components

Pros: Low Profileeasy to mountlooks great on my MotherboardFan is easily replaceable/Reversible
Comment:
I put this in my WHS2011 build on a P8H77-I mITX motherbaord. it has a very low profile, mounts well and looks great. I forgot how big a 120mm heatsink would look flat across a 170mm motherboard and thats where someone might see some issues. This cooler mounted will cover your ram and PCI-E slots, so make sure to install your memory before dropping this in. if you intend on using that expansion slot make sure your card will fit.

Pros: CompactCheap
Comment:
To be quite frank with all of you. I was really quite dissappointed when I first opened it. Didnt come in any clamshell of some sort.Offers acceptable heat transfer, if youre planning on using turbo boost or turbo core, this heatsink will not do it's job.

Cons: None

Pros: Working as intended
Comment:
Keeps my i3 2100 below 30C idle (~45C load) and it fits in a Lian Li PC-Q08! (Leaves adequate space between the PSU and the fan) Also, it runs pretty silent at 580rpm, even if I ramped it up to ~800rpm.I'd recommend that you try installing this heatsink before applying the thermal paste. I had some problem and couldn't properly attach the heatsink (was too short). I had to remove it, unscrew a little bit, than reinstall it for a perfect fit.I didn't feel like cleaning and reapplying the thermal paste, but at least, the temperature are pretty good in my opinion.

Improved cooling performance:
Compared with its predecessor model the Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B is equipped with an additional heatpipe as well as an additional row of fins. By these improvements combined with a 2,000 rpm Slip Stream 120 Slim Series fan, higher cooling efficiency could be achieved. By applying the othodox method of pointing the airflow of the fan towards the motherboard, chipsets and MOS-FETs on VR modules can be cooled simultaneously.

Slip Stream 120 Slim PWM Fan:
The Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B is equipped with a new Slip Stream 120 Slim PWM fan (2,000 rpm) with small motor hub for better airflow. The fan can be replaced by general 120 mm fans with open corners for screw holes.

Higher Compatibility:
One of the main characteristics of the Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B is its outstanding compatibility. Only 58 mm in height it is versatile for all use and a perfect solution for low Profile PC chassis. In addition, the new F.M.S.B. 4 (Flip Mount Super Back-Plate 4) mounting system provides high compatibility with new generation chipset motherboards. Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B is also compatible to Intels new LGA2011 Socket.
