Cons:
Takes up two slots.
Pros: ALOT of different mounting positions. I thought I could only put a fan in it like described in the picture, but now I actually have a fan on top blowing down on my northbridge, one fan blowing at my GPU and one at my sound card. You can also mount SSD's in it. |

Scythe really makes great & interesting products and this is no exception. A PCI bracket that you can use in any empty slot (if you have the space) to add airflow where you need it? Great!In my case I have a 5770 (Original cooler) and it was getting really hot - not to mention loud. I did several things to improve airflow, and this is one of them. I mounted the product right above the Video card (the very first slot below the CPU) with the fan perpendicular to the slot. It blows on top of the video card and the 4 slots above it. I bought Silverstone Aero Slots to put in my empty PCI slots to exhaust air.The included fan is 12mm thick and is very silent, thanks to the included fan controller. Don't forget to remove the knob before inserting in the slot or it won't get through! You can use regular 25mm IF YOUR CASE ALLOWS IT. Possible fan configurations are 1 or 2 80mm~120mm or a single 140mm.You do have to measure carefully as this product is quite lenghty, however the height is ajustable with thumbscrews. I had to fiddle a lot before I could get the "perfect" fit (now that I think of it I could try again a different setup to see if my temps would improve even more)... You can't change the fan position once it is in (unless you leave the screws a bit loose). Should you wish you can even hold SDD's in the frame.All in all, a very versatile product, a little bit on the expensive side for what it is, but you do end up paying for the idea behind it. Some could argue they are able to achieve the same with zip-ties and hand-made metal holder but this is the easy solution for everyone else. |

I bought two of these who could miss for the price.I put one between my raid card & sound card then mounted my 3ware battery back up to the lower part of the frame my batt temp dropped like a Rock.I cut the frame down to clear my cpu coolers on the second & put it in beside my vid card.Love the built in speed controls.Everthing is running quite and COOL!Thanks for the innovative thinking Scythe. |
Be careful when you buy it, since it' takes up two slots. That's the only con I have, it's a great product, with a lot of different mounting features.
