Keeps your CPU good and cool. Big. Make positive it will fit in your case! Also, the edges are seriously sharp, so if you can, put on gloves. I cut my hands up rather a bit when I was installing it. Good item.

I'm not a pro. When I excel in some locations I could be deficient in others when it comes to computer system components and technical know-how. My CPU fan was operating poorly so I ordered this expecting a thing decent that would hopefully operate. This thing is Huge. it's nearly three instances the size of the old heat sink. It was also the most difficult heat sink I have ever installed. You'll want to take your complete motherboard out to hook this up adequately. It was not enjoyable. I will dread the day the fan dies due to the fact I have no concept if I will be in a position to uninstall this monster if it ever dies on me.But It works, and appears like its getting undertaking far better then my old heat sing & Fan. It's not anything for beginners.3 Stars mainly because it operates fantastic, but it was a true discomfort to install. It's massive and quite challenging to set up. The fan is big too, be confident your power supply can help this monster. It's substantially larger then it looks in the photo. Perhaps possessing it compared to a thing in the photo would greater assist men and women see just how major this factor is?

Cool!..... Quite cool! Relatively straight forward install. Appears good. Quiet! Terrible guidelines. Comply with these as a guide. To install on 775, 1156, 1365 use the "C" brackets with the indentions facing away from the cooler. The screw holes are recessed so it need to be clear which way it goes. Screw the unique "inside/outside' threaded nuts on from the bottom (the indentions maintain them from turning) with the little round nuts close to the heatsink.Location one screw in the correct hole on the backplate and position on mainboard. Position heatsink (thermal paste applied) and get very first screw started. Repeat for extra screws. Tighten in a cross pattern each and every a little at a time, don't tighten every single 1 all the way and move to the next (screws have shoulders so just get them "snug")!!! Attach fan. Plug fan in. Mount board, and so on. Delight in! I was able to install the Mugen Rev. B without fully removing board from case. I just removed cards and unscrewed mainboard and lifted it out to 90 Degrees when nevertheless in case. All SATA and front panel nonetheless connected. Took me about 15 minutes from computer off to computer system on. You already know this point is a super air cooler so I wont bore you with benchmarks ... P.S. installed this in an Aerocool Intense Engine case. I had to eliminate the super sized side panel fan. No big deal due to the fact I'm operating cooler now than I was with the huge fan. It is worth the trade off.

From reading the critiques on this site, I was expecting huge hassle when installing, and kept it on my desk for about a week so that my wife could be right here to assist. She wasn't needed whatsoever. This point was a breeze, if THIS is a hard install, the easy installs ought to magically appear on the boards. Placed cooler upside down on desk, paste spread evenly, maneuvered board over the cooler, placed the screws and performed.Effortless peezy.Temps - Phenom 720 BEAhead of - 45c Idle 70c+ - LoadRight after - 25c - Idle 35c - LoadI even bumped up my OC and lowered the temps that significantly. I've been working with two of these (one in an Intel 920, and one more in an Intel 860) for more than a year now. Benefits for each platforms are about the very same with 20c ambient, idle CPU about 34c, and only goes up a little previous 60c when memory or CPU anxiety testing. Otherwise, gaming temp is no additional than 45c (usually 42c) on either platform. I prefer this CPU cooler since maximum cooling requires only one particular fan operating at about 2000 RPM (actually 1800RPM). I use the coolermaster Hyper 212+ PWM fan, although the stock fan at 1300 RPM is in all probability fantastic adequate for what I do which is mainly gaming, net, and watching Blu Ray. None. Installation is not tricky, but calls for motherboard to be out of the pc case. Installation is a one man operation...two folks needed only if you don't have a clue. The amount of preparing/preparation(common sense) expected for installation is on par with altering a tire on a car or truck. Study the directions (aka: appear at the photos) and don't just jump in and you'll be fine. My very first two were not bought from NewEgg lead to they had been out. This third one is for a P67 (just got my 2600k and Asus P8P67 WS Revolution from NewEgg). I have, new in box, a Noctua NH-D14, Coolermaster Hyper 212+, and 2 Coolermaster N520 CPU coolers any of which I could have employed for my new construct. I chose to buy another SMG-2100 rather. This cooler cools excellent, perhaps a tiny overkill, but at ุ.00...the price tag guidelines. I use OCZ Freeze thermal grease...not the greatest, but I nevertheless got some left.

This cooler has the greatest overall performance per price tag that I've seen. I purchased an AMD Phenom x4 940 Black Edition and place it in an Antec p182 case. I figured that stock cooling would suffice. The stock fan was so loud all the time so I started monitoring my temperatures. Under load I was seeing temps right about 80C. Way to hot. Dropped this sucker on and beneath load my temps by no means get above 40C. And thats with only a single fan! Enormous! This point is so massive that I had to attach the fan to the rear of the cooler since my higher profile ram won't match under the fan. Not so considerably a failing of the cooler but hopefully MOBO manufacturers get the hint and move the ram slots out a tad away from the CPU mounting area What are you waiting for get one particular for you computer ... heck obtain one particular for your pals computer system!!

Each and every assessment puts it close to the prime in terms of functionality. Other than the heatsink getting absolutely bent out of shape, apparently due to poor good quality handle at the factory, the components seem to be higher excellent. When I opened the package, I saw that the heatsink was absolutely deformed. The unit appears to have been shipped that way from the factory. I can understand some minor defects in a solution, but this was beyond ridiculous. Needless to say, I will never purchase another one particular of their products. I just hope I can get a unit that is in usable condition subsequent time. To add insult to injury, I now have to pay ป to ship it back. That's 25% of the unit's original expense. This is Highly unfair to the consumer. If you get a defective item at a store, do they charge you for returning it? I fully grasp NewEgg's position, but it isn't my fault that the product arrived broken. They ought to make certain the situation of every single item they ship. I have been dealing with NewEgg since their brick and mortar days, but I locate myself re-evaluating that connection following this expertise. If I can find one more vendor that does not charge me for shipping an RMA I will go with them. Sorry NewEgg, but company is company, which I assume is why I have to spend ป...

Truly does a excellent job maintaining my AMD Thubian three.3ghz CPU cold. Great price tag to performance ratio. Can be utilised on a selection of chipsets.Directions were surprisingly straight forward for installation. Real pain in the rear to install. Took about four attempts to get the mobo centered over it appropriately. Was getting pretty stressed with the thermal paste sliding and etc... Certainly get a single other particular person to hold your mobo steady so you can get the backplate attached.

Strapped on to the CPU nicely - it was useful at the beginning to apply thermal paste to the heat sink with a razor blade and have an additional individual on hand for initial positioning. Keeps the Phenom 970 3.5 GHz so cool I get a CPU fan not running warning when the MOBO is in sleep mode right now. Anticipate that will alter when we get to summer. OK, this cooler came with sketchy instructions - mainly diagrams, but they have been OK for install if you have a bit of mechanical capability. Make confident your case is wide adequate. Need to have about 6.5 "

Substantial heatsink, incredibly quiet, effective. Bulky. The make contact with plate among the heatsink and CPU is not copper. Though this does not look to spoil the overall efficiency. The mounting screws require an access from the back of your motherboard, so you will have to disassemble your Pc completely in order to install this 1. This cooler is huge, but it can very easily match into a normal ATX personal computer case. It >may< interfere with your DDR memory plates (I have the ones with somewhat tall heatsinks on them), but the fan on the cooler can slide up/down a small bit, which resolves the issue. The typical RPM of this fan is very low. This is good (no noise), but you may get occasional complains from BIOS at the boot time about abnormally low RPM. Just ignore that, due to the fact it is Normal. My numbers are: quiet mode is about 700-900 rpm, turbo is 1300-1450.

Great cooler! Keeps my 2500K OC nice and cool. In no way exceeds 52C load and idles about 34C. Fan speed is controlled by motherboard so i don't hear it when idling. Successful cooling with absolute silent at a reasonable price. Could have integrated a second clip for additional fan for Push and Pull. Its large, so make positive it fits in your case. Installation was no tougher then any other CPU cooler.

This point genuinely cools my AMD Phenom 2 1090t 鲽W)..I purchased it since of 3 factors.Low expense,Great evaluations ,versatile mount..I run about 32 to 34 C but have not performed any challenging stress testing yet..Fan is whisper quiet as well.. Not genuinely a con, but this thing is Big and of course has a major thermal mass..Very sharp thin Fins..They warn you about protection when handling it.. My system has the CoolmasterTO5-UB case,AMDPhenom2 1090t CPU,mounted on a GA-780A--UD3 motherboard..I required to blow the cooling fan to the rear so that it would perform in tandem with the huge rear case fan..It can be positioned that way without having a difficulty..A single downside on all this sort of mounting is that the Northbridge HS does not get a lot of moving air..That's a point to consider..The HS has a sleeve bearing and I would rather had a Double BB but at the price it spins I may in no way put on it out..On cold boot, the fan barely spins at all and picks up speed but in no way above a whisper..You require to use their backplate so you have to set up it with the MB out of the case..After it was installed and in the case, I discovered it prudent to attach a bracket to help eliminate the weight off the motherboard and back plate..

This is with an amd technique, intel could not be as annoying. i heard recomendations of setting it upside down on the table, setting your mobo on it, using gravity to retain the rear mountplate in location and then finagle the screws in spot, i wasn't comfy with that. I removed the hardware from the mobo (original hsf mounting exciting) installed it in my case, (had substantial opening behind the cpu so i could insert mountplate). tied the mountplate in place, screw-ed the top mount brackets to the heat sink, applied the thermal paste, inserted the through screws, and carefully put it into spot. i do'nt htink there is a right way to do it. take your choose, wonderful cooler for 40 bucks although

In this price tag variety surely a single of the finest. Ranked š CPU cooler. Extremely quiet, and cools really well with stock fan, cools even superior with a pair of Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-15's in push/pull. Does enable RAM with shedders (not further tall heat sinks) in all four slots, outer two slots with the added tall H/S's on AMD mobo's. Also directs some very good air flow underneath to cool Mosfets. I mounted this in a NZXT M59 case with no hassles or interference issues. If you're going to OC this unit is a good start out. it held a Phenom II 555 x2 BE @ 4043MHz at 1.476v, NB 2869MHz, HT 2087MHz and RAM 1733MHz 7-8-7-24 and passed 24 hrs of Prime 95 with CPU idle at 35-36c and max below load of 44c with stock fan and ambient of 80F. With P/P and dual Scythe GT AP-15's idle is 30c and max beneath load of 38c at exact same ambient. P/P and GT AP-15's is a huge plus and nevertheless silent. I'd extremely recommend for intermediate OC'ing up to four.0GHz. Even have a 1090T at 4043MHz with P/P and AP-15's continued in other thoughts Like every person complains about, you will have a lot much less of a headache if you get rid of mobo and mount mobo to H/S although it's upside down on static bag and shim mobo to lay level although attaching screws. Took me about 1ǘ hour this way, no large deal. but this is the upper limit temp smart and may well not be cool sufficient for these hot summer season days on a Hexacore. But I'm sure it would hold up to three.eight-three.9GHz on a hexacore or quad core. This is a excellent worth at ุ.00, but if you want the best you'll have to spend twice the value for a Noctua, or just put your CPU under water and be performed. Final thoughts, ุ.00 stock good up to around 4.0GHz but when you add the cost of the two GT AP-15's ྯ-ร.00 each and every) it may well have been more affordable to just go with the Noctua if it fits in your case which it didn't fit in mine. No remorse in my purchase, just part of the learning curve when the unmentioned bug bits lol.

Dropped my e6600 C2D temperature more than 15C from stock cooler. Now runs sub 35C even when overclocked to 3.0Ghz, and will in all probability drop far more right after the thermal gel break in period. This thing is whisper quiet too - 120mm fans spinning at 1200rpm is hardly over 20db. Can't hear it at all with the side panel on. It fits LGA 775񳁴񳅆, so its pretty adaptable - I intend to move it over to an i5/i7 whenever I upgrade. You can also strap 3 further 120mm fans onto this factor for more airflow - youll will need mounting clips (from Scythe's site) and CPU fan Y splitter for each fan though. The heatsink appears awesome as well - incredibly functional aesthetic, appears beneficial. Less showy than Tuniq towers and such, but a lot less expensive with the exact same if not much better functionality. Coupled with a bottom-mounted PSU case such as the Antec 300, there's a lot of airflow for sleeve coolers - I have the 120mm fan mounted to push air into 2 120+mm exhaust fans. Really large cooler - it wasn't a challenge fitting it into an Apevia XCruiser or Antec 300 case (both mid-towers), but you might have problems fitting it into anything with a smaller sized kind issue. Theres about 2cm clearance to the side panel. Also, installation needs removing the motherboard from the case in order to attach the backplate, and fitting in the mounting screws can be a hassle. I had to position the screw cap amongst the heatsink and mobo heatsink with pliers with one hand and screw it in from the bottom with the other. For the cost, the Mugen Rev B is an excellent cooler. Quiet, efficient, does it's job extremely extremely effectively. Scalability makes it a wonderful base for further upgrades too. Hunting at the other options, I would say that the SCMG-2100 can beat out cpu coolers that are nicely into the ๖ dollar variety.E6600 C2D 2.4Ghz @ 3.0GhzScythe Mugen Rev B CoolerArctic Silver five

* Good efficiency/cost* Modular style enabling up to 4 fans in any orientation -this was nice because you can scoot the fan up slightly to give your ram modules a little far more clearance.* installation was a bit complex but extremely intuitive. *no cons I can consider of. *a tiny complex to set up requires a small coordination among 2 men and women to get it on so you don't smear your thermal paste everywhere off the CPU. *Getting an extra fan/mount clips for the HS can be a bit of a chore. I place this on my new 2600k. Very quiet.-Uncover an individual to support you mount this.Have an individual hold the motherboard in location although you spot the back plate and thread the screws through makes this install pretty painless.

I settled on this cooler even though searching for a trustworthy mid-variety heat sink fan that didn't price an arm and a leg. This falls appropriate in that category completely. It gets fantastic ratings when compared to other coolers in the very same price tag range and can retain most systems cool as extended as your not carrying out any hardcore overclocking. Even though encoding I can easily activity all six cores of my 1090t and it has no challenge keeping a constant core temp properly under acceptable levels. It comes with it's own backplate and all variations of socket connections necessary to install with any set-up. It's pretty major, like most aftermarket heat sink fans. Imo, it has a horrible installation procedure. That's why I had to take away 1 star. Some would ask why. The procedure could result in most men and women to very easily spread thermal compound on the motherboard by accident. The only way I could install the cooler was by flipping it and the motherboard upside down and lining up the holes. Not really user friendly for those with unsteady hands. My major tips would be to do your investigation on this model and any other cooler you have your eye on. Make certain you analysis the installation method and that your comfy with what it needs you to do. If your running an AMD cpu at stock, there my be other choices at a decrease price that could give you consistent efficiency on a tighter spending budget.

As soon as I installed the three dominator RAMs on the gigabyte ud3r board I realized it is impossible to set up this issue in the standard position (Front to back airflow). As an alternative it has to be rotated 90 degrees in an bottom to top configuration. Even this would lead to the fins to get in touch with with the very first RAM and make the whole RAM slot bank a specific angle to the other side(not considerably like 5 degrees). Acceptable, but it just doesn't really feel good talking about you have an 'angled' RAM sitting in your case...
