I remember playing SC:brood war for hours on end and was so excited for SC2. This game is just fantastic. It retains the wonderful aspects of the previous games so anyone who has enjoyed the original SC would love this! On top of the classic gameplay, the changes really complete this game. With units being balanced so well, wonderful maps and just great replay value. The game is great for anyone looking to jump into a RTS. This is a must buy for any gamer.

Cons: constant balance issues

Pros: Single Player CampaignSC2 EditorBattle.net-Quick Match/Ladder-Custom Games
Comment:
The sequel to the mighty Starcraft: Brood War. I would think that anyone reading this would know by now the awesomeness of Starcraft. The only problem it right now is that there are several balance issues are constantly tweaked, which means you will have to adapt to the changes every patch.

I purchased this game at release and have been played it almost every day. The game is very addicting. I never really played RTS games until I got into SC2, but I am glad I did. I now watch a various VOD and live streams (including the GSL, NASL, and TSL) daily. This is quite possibly the funnest game I have ever purchased!

Cons: - Too addicting (can potentially ruin lives, seriously)- No reavers- Its taken a while to balance the game through all the patches (you could say it still isn't balanced and there are parts of the game which aren't) but Blizzard has done a good job addressing the concerns nonetheless. - The ladder system can be improved.

Pros: - Ultimate test of the capabilities of the human mind; a game that requires multitasking abilities, quick reflexes, the ability to analyze, and the ability to strategize in pressure situations.- Single Player mode is great, and of course we all know about Battle Net.
Comment:
I've grown up playing Starcraft and its sequel fulfills my expectations for Starcraft's 2nd coming. It's a good game to play when you've had a bad day and you just want to escape reality and pwn some noobs. Just don't play when you're tired.

Pros: -Awesome RTS Game-play-Unique custom games-Epic Single Player campaign
Comment:
StarCraft II Does not disappoint for StarCraft fans or newcomers. Get this game. The graphics are phenomenal compared to the late StarCraft, the custom games add a whole universe of game-play, such as RPG games where it turns StarCraft into a first person shooter.

Cons: -little innovation in game mechanics-single player isn't captivating

Pros: -multiplayer-custom games in multiplayer-huge community-good balance
Comment:
This is a great game but not as good as it could've been. The multiplayer is fantastic and it's backed up by great community-created custom games. However, the single player is kind of boring since the story isn't that interesting. Also, they didn't modernize the gameplay mechanics with physics except for adding cliffs and the ability to scale them. Still, it's still a great game.

Cons: Ranked matches can get stale to some players

Pros: Community content adds unlimited playability
Comment:
Overall a fantastic game. I have only waded through half the single-player game, but it seems pretty good. For a really rewarding experience, play the multiplayer. I love playing 2v2. When that got a little old, I switched to the plethora of custom games available. Battlecraft, Spacebattle, Partycraft... so many great options. This is truly a game that will last years.

Cons: -expensive game-cd came in no case some cardboard crap-no lan support-needs a key to play so basically if you want to play with your brothers they each need a copy

Pros: -Played in beta great game -always been a fan of blizzard-graphics are amazing if you have a computer that can run them at highest-had so much fun in campaign
Comment:
However i waited for this game for the longest time. Friend gave me a beta key so nothing was gonna stop me from getting it, unless activision overprice it anymore.

Cons: Strange ranking system. I dont much like to judge my teammates based on silly rewards they've gotten that dont mean a thing about their skill level.

Pros: Very good single player campaign and vs AIGreat online playLots more use map features than the old one
Comment:
Played SC1 for ages, still played it off and on until I got this game, and I have to say this is basicly the same game with some better graphics and a few extra units. The original wasn't broke, so they didnt fix it. Expect to see far better graphics and actions, a few (although very, very, limited) new units and abilities, and a whole shwack more use map settings possibility's.

Comment:
I love this game!Getting into this game is very rewarding. Go 1v1 and test your skills, play with friends and play team vs team games, or play completely different custom games. The graphics are awesome and the music is great as well.Definitely one of the top PC games right now and a must-try.

Cons: Battle.net 2.0

Pros: Arguably the best RTS of ALL TIMEIf that isn't enough, Custom games and Single player are just as fun.
Comment:
The only thing holding this game back is Battle.net 2.0 and the greed of Activision. If you played this game 10 years ago, this purchase should be a no-doubter. There's a reason why this game is considered the national sport of S. Korea, it's the future of e-Sports. I would rate it 6/5 but NCIX doesn't let me do that.

One of the GREATEST PC GAMES OF ALL TIME!!!! It is a must buy! Especially a great upgrade for a 10 year old prequal, Starcraft. This is a must have upgrade. Includes things like way better graphics, better gameplay, ability to add friends when you play, and a much better online system. Plus, if you bought the game, it comes with 2 free guest passes that gives your friends the ability to play for 7 hours or 14 days FOR FREE.

Cons: The full game in 3 DVDs.

Pros: GameplayStoryline
Comment:
The game is a perfect follow up from the original game. The only downside of it : the full game will be spread in 3 DVDs. That means more waiting and more money spend. Let's hope the next 2 won't cost 60 bucks !

Cons: - A little expensive- Lacks a LAN game ability- DRM is really annoying

Pros: - Great single player- Great multiplayer- Awesome ranking/ladder system- Lots of room for replay value
Comment:
I am a die-hard SC1 fan, and bought this game purely for the multiplayer aspect, but was very impressed with the single player. Having played it through both multi/single player for months now, I can definitely say even if it were just the single player and wasn't multiplayer at all, it would be one of my faourite games.Thats not to take from the multiplayer, which offers everything in SC1, WC3, and much more. Definately game of the year.

Cons: Battlenet - No chat rooms/Lan options

Pros: Huge production values for an excellent single player and multiplayer campaign. It's a Blizzard title and it's STARCRAFT!

Was addicted to the beta for a good period of time. Played religiously until school and work took up all my free time again. Online competition is unmatched! Hyper polished and balanced title with no issues at launch ( unheard of in PC titles these days!).

Cons: Heavy physics, graphics require decent PC, multiplayer intimidating for new players, same familiar 'Starcraft' formula

Pros: Excellent campaign, multiplayer is solid, very fun
Comment:
Starcraft 2 is the sequel to the popular PC game 'Starcraft' and it's expansion, Starcraft: Brood War.The campaign itself is extremely well-done. Jim Raynor as a protagonist is well-voiced and likeable, with a rugged 'I don't take shit' quality that can't help but leave you grinning at some of the cutscenes. His interactions with other characters is interesting and makes the campaign all the more interesting than Starcraft 1's boring campaign.Achievements play a large part in Starcraft 2, allowing you to unlock new portraits and such. There's a lot of achievements to earn and it's fun trying to unlock them all. There's certainly plenty of challenges to be had.The Multiplayer is the base of Starcraft 2. Being a National Sport in Korea, Starcraft has inspired some of the most competitive PC gaming in the world. It was imperative that Blizzard had the utmost balance and quality testing for the multiplayer and they really pulled it off.Battle.net integration is flawless which makes hooking up with friends for games simple and easy, meanwhile other friends playing World of Warcraft can easily communicate with you whether or not you are playing Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft, or other future Blizzard games. All in all, the game is a true sequel that brings a lot of new things to the table: Anyone who expects the same old Starcraft will be pleasantly surprised in a way that rejuvenates the series. It was worth the wait.

I am not a multiplayer fan but sometime i do lan party. This is very disapointing since there is NO lan.You MUST have an internet connection to play and too much lag with too many people. The solo campaign is nice. However, the skirmish game miss lot of character.

Cons: - No LAN play- Seems incomplete with just the human campaign

Pros: - New graphics- New characters- Multiplayer (of course)
Comment:
Been waiting years to get a good fix of Starcraft. I think it was worth the wait. Got it on sale for $50 and have been enjoying it since. The campaign could use a few more missions but the story line is well thought out. Online play is still as fun as I remember it. Definitely need a PC with some muscle behind it as some scenes are very CPU / graphics intensive. Never had a problem with my i7.
