I have been sticking these in Dell servers (2900, 1800) and such running windows 2003 and windows 2008 and it works great. Mind you I don't use the RAID part of it. I use external eSATA drives for extra storage for backups. 80MB/second sustained data transfer speed.It has two external jacks on the back and when you buy external drives they usually come with a jack to stick on the back of the computer and that connects to one of the other two interal jacks on the card.I would expect it work on XP, Vista and Windows 7. Note it is a PCI-X card (long slot).
