Cisco is definitely one of the biggest names in networking out there and their products are some of the best. I chose this one over the equivalent D-link product because I heard of overheating issues with their particular gigabit switch. This one has no such problems. I went from a actively fan cooled switch to this and its been perfectly fine. Also note that the gigabit capability won't make a different when connecting to the internet, but things like large file transfers within your LAN will see the difference (when couplied with CAT5e/6 cables and gigabit networking adapters). |
Very nice, useful product at a reasonable price - my only regret is not picking up the 8 port version since the price gap between the two is so small now - do yourself a favor and plan ahead for network expansion - get the 8 port for $10 more.
