Cons: - Does not overheat. (I like it when SSDs get hot so I can make toast with them.)

Pros: - Extremely fast - I was able to get advertised rates of R/W on random exposure.- Cheap $/GB ratio - less than $1/GB!- Boot time dropped from an ADATA 120GB SSD - 12s -> 9s!- Loads programs seamlessly - combined with an i7 (second-gen) and 16GB of RAM, this is a multi-tasking powerhouse.- Scores 7.9 on WEI without even trying (I was doing other stuff as the tests were being performed).- Benchmarks in the top 5% - still best for it's cost.
Comment:
I did not want to write a review for fear of my laptop BSOD'ing and never working again, as that is precisely what happened with my old ADATA 120GB SSD back in 2010.Overall, this was the most cost-efficient highest-GB-$ ratio on the market when I bought it. After tax and shipping, it came out to $424.98, and remember, this was in April of 2012.I post this review to tell you to buy this SSD; especially if you're a gamer or a programmer like me and need LOTS of room for repositories, games, etc. Fast access is the name of the game, and this drive delivers in ways you'd never see with most other drives. These guys are the original. I was looking at Corsair Vertex and Agility lines, as well as the Kingston HyperX series and the upcoming other drives, but SanDisk seemed to destroy them all.I'm just going to go ahead and say that if you want space, and don't like splitting your operating system between a SSD and a normal mechanical hard drive, buy this hard drive. The issues with having a 120GB SSD is that after you format it and install whatever OS you're using, you tend to have less than 100GB for programs and whatnot. Being a heavy gamer, I like having everything front-and-centre, so my lust for gaming required that I had a lot of extra space. I also have an expansive music collection - almost 150GB. Being able to play them instantaneously, wherever and whenever I want (I tend to rely on DropBox, GDrive, and SkyDrive a little more than most people) is imperative to me, being always on the move.I put this in a G74SX-XC1, which I also bought from NCIX.ca, and let me tell you, combined with 16GB of RAM and an Intel Centrino 6235 wireless card, this thing is by far the best laptop in existence. Try to name me any of that Sager, Alienware or w/e other crap you can come up with, and I 100% guarantee that this setup will outperform that one with regards to price, effectiveness, and usability.

Cons: Sandforce may have compatibility issues with some hardware/software combination.

Pros: SandForce24nm Toggle Sandisk Nand
Comment:
This SSD is all right. I took it because it was the best price I could find for a 480GB SSD. I found one week later there were other SSD of this capacity and 512GB at a lower price. Prices of SSD are dropping fast these days!Anyway, I have 0 issue with it. It came with the latest firmware.Be aware that SandForce 480GB SSD are slower than the 240GB version of it. It's still give you the performance you need for anything, except maybe 500MB/s transfer rate for huge video files. For that, you will have to look for another controller. In any case, a SSD is fast!
