Cons: N/A

Pros: CompactSimple, sleek design
Comment:
I picked this up awhile ago for use with my 1201N. There's not a whole lot to say about it really, its just a DVD drive. Its a little loud, but that's to be expected. It remains very still while in use though, that's a credit to the Samsung stabilization gyro's inside. All in all I'm pleased with it.

Cons: -None thus far

Pros: -Good price when on sale, which is almost every week-Burns at 8x, which is very acceptable-Works with my Dell Netbook, Desktop, other's laptops, etc with only one USB plugged in. Dont need to use both
Comment:
Purchased this for use with Netbook to be able to install Windows/Linux off CD, and other stuff off discs. Sure I had my desktop drive networked, but this works when those are not available. Draws all power for me from just the one main USB connector, I dont need to use both for my Netbook, Laptop or desktop. Very Slick.

I got it for a fairly good price when it was on sale as the first extreme deal of the day on NCIX. It's a great product overall.

I used it to burn recovery disks and recover a netbook from DVDs. It works just great, and to my surprise it makes no noise at all! This device is a great add-on for your netbook!

Cons: The need to plug it into 2 USB ports

Pros: CompactNo need for external Power SourceReads and writes any DVD/CD format
Comment:
This is a great USB DVD burner/drive for a netbook and for people on the go. The great thing is it does not need external power, it is powered directly from USB. The downside is you have to plug it into 2 USB ports simultanously. It reads and writes just about any format and it is pretty quiet. A great device for backup and installation of software on your netbook.

Pros: very good lookingvery small

Great product overall got this for my eeepc and its working great so far. Also good for server where you need all the ports for hard drives and can't have an internal dvd-rom.It would be nice if this can be 16x or 22x instead of just 8x writing speedbut other than that, awsome little device

Cons: Seems to require using both of the USB ports on some specific computers but not others. Box did not show 2 cables!

Pros: Great little DVD burner perfect for compact size laptops and netbooks. Is very fast and quiet!
Comment:
Bought this little DVD burner to use with my IBM ThinkPad X61. It provides fast burn speeds and can fit easily in my bag and doesn't weight too much. Nice that it has a manual slot ejection incase you want to remove a DVD when the device is off.I can't think of anything wrong with this burner yet, Samsung usually makes quality products and this is no exception. Would probably purchase another one of these DVD burners if I had the use for it!

Cons: Makes quite a bit of noise

Pros: Very smallUSB Powered

Came with newest firmware installed. I laughed at Sean_B's review because it is almost identical to my situation. I was going to order this item and kaboom! It's on the main page for $62.99 including tax shipped via air to my door the next day! I use it with my 1000HE and it is an absolutely great little burner.

Cons: At that price and compared to other similar products on the market I see nothing to complain about.

Pros: USB powered, price.

I came to this website specifically to look for this product and BAM right on the front page it was shown as the extreme deal of the day for only $59.99 (CAD) and free express shipping. Someone must have been reading my mind. Of course, I quickly logged in as fast as possible to snatch it up and less than 24 hours later it was at my doorstep (from BC to Ontario). Works exactly as I expected it to and matches well with my EeePC 1000HE.

Cons: 8x only?

Pros: Small size, excellent performance, USB powered
Comment:
This is an excellent drive. I use it with my Aspire One when an optical drive is needed. Being USB powered is a huge plus. There is no power brick, just a USB cable with a double connector on the end to carry the necessary current. I have burned about 30 discs with it, single layer Verbatims and double layer Memorex with 100% success. It is only 8x, but I think that may be normal for all slim drives. I suspect this is a notebook drive inside a USB enclosure. I can't recommend this highly enough for $60!

Nice little unit, does what it says. Not the fastest around, but what would you expect from a tiny burner powered off a usb port?

Cons: - uses 2 USB connections - not an issue for me but maybe for people with limited USB ports

Pros: - no additional power cable / brick (uses 2 USB connections instead)- very compact and portable- performance on a par with USB2 device
Comment:
Great little portable drive. No complaints so far. I love the fact I don't have to lug around yet another brick to power it.

Pros: NO POWER CORD REQUIRED SILM LIGHT WEIGHT FAST BURN SPEED
Comment:
BOUGHT IT FOR MY EEE PC AND MY DESTTOP, NO POWER CORD DESIGN IS THE WHAT I NEED, THE BURN SPEED IS OUT STANDING, IF YOU HAVE A EEE PC OR OTHER BRAND NETBOOK, YOU WILL NEED ONE.

Cons: Corners and edges are not rounded

Pros: Extremely compact. No additional power supply needed.
Comment:
A great little drive. It is plug and play, so you can start using it immediately. I have not tried writing with it yet, but it reads just fine. Not sure if both USB connections will be needed for writing mode or if single USB will provide enough power while writing. It seems a little fragile, but only time will tell.

Cons: Slow

Pros: No power adapter neededgood protective cover
Comment:
I got this for my Eee PC 1000HE and it works great because it doesn't need a extra power cord. The case on it seems pretty good too so it wont get wrecked in its between a book or 2 in the pack. For the price its a great thing to have with a computer that has no CD-ROM or if your a tech and need it in your toolkit.

Cons: - Use 2 USB port

Pros: - Small- Price- No AC adapter
Comment:
The big advantage of this external writer is that it doesn't use an AC adapter so you cna use it anywhere you want and even when at home, you don't have to be near a wall outlet in order to use it. Reading and burning both CD and DVD is pretty easy and even with my really old desktop computer it get's the speed given in the stats. My only problem is that it use 2 USB port instead of one so it can be a bit annoying on netbook which has USB on both side or if you plan on using your USB port for other device.

Cons: Make sure the two USB ports are close together. Otherwise you have to use an extender.

Pros: It works very well. Very silent. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Comment:
This is perfect for my netbook that I got recently. Makes it a lot easier to install from disks and occasionally make a backup of files from my netbook.

Cons: Rough edges

Pros: PortableQuietRuns coolUses USB cable for power and data
Comment:
This Samsung drive performs very well. It runs pretty cool while burning and does not create  much noise. Best of all, it only utilizes a single USB cable for power. The only downside to it is the rough edges, which could be better if they were more rounded.
