Cons: - Heavy - urg my hand gets sore from holding it for more then 20 minutes at a time..- Battery drains too quickly- The back smudges quickly and shows all dirt- No flash for the camera :(

Pros: - Excellent Screen - Bright clean colors- Fast boot up time when used with shield tablet cover- Perfect size for portability- Fast! Google is a cheetah on this beast... - Does not get hot (Feels nice)- Gaming ... Its a beast!- That awesome stylus pen (No more finger prints on this screen)
Comment:
For the price - this tablet is the best but not for everyone. The weight can be a turn off. No flash ..so make sure you have a good source of light.Keep your charging cord handy.Still giving it five stars because of the speed and enjoyment I get from this tablet.

Cons: -Battery Life-Gamestream -Weak Wifi strength-Nothing special about the looks-Needs more development

Pros: -Fast-Front facing speaker-Android OS :D-HDMI output-does more than your average tablet-Controller quality is good
Comment:
I was extremely excited about this tablet and purchased one without really looking at reviews and such. The features were enough to sell me on this product. After owning this for several months I've come to the conclusion that this product still needs work sadly. I've already sold mine. The battery life would always get to me... of course I was coming from an iPad which has amazing battery life, but it was so significantly worse I couldn't live with it. The software would barely work with my two rigs using nvidia cards. Gamestream was an absolute nightmare trying to setup, and even when it worked it would be way to laggy to play. Some days it would work, and other days it wouldn't... terribly inconsistent. The wifi signal is extremely weak when comparing it to any other device I've owned, and this is what drove me insane. Wifi signal quality is extremely important especially if you plan on streaming to a device... The whole idea is amazing from nvidia, but the execution failed. Waiting for nvidia's next generation shield tablet to see if they improve on it.

Cons: QA issues, had to replace my tablet once. Generic appearance.

Pros: Great performer, early android 5.0 support, useful stylus, great additional apps
Comment:
Great tablet. Great android upgrade support. Lots of unique features. Running latest games smoothly. However there was a wifi death grip issue for the initial tablet, all good after replacement though.

Cons: Power button could have a bit more tactile feel, but it's not a big deal

Pros: - Feature rich and versatile (i.e. a gaming beast and android tablet)- Nice display in its own right (its HD 1080p, with high pixel density; you don't need an amoled 300+ dpi- can your eyes really tell the difference?)- Best speakers I've experienced in a tablet- Nice, clean & sleek design- Blazing fast!- 8" 16:10 aspect ratio (perfect balance between screen real estate and portability)- option to use a game controller

I love this tablet! There were early reports of cracked corners, wifi instability and short battery life; with the firmware updates (v1.2) and corrections in manufacturing, I don't think there any more of these issues- at least for the vast majority. Personally, I have had no problems. Wifi is steady and strong and the battery life is quite remarkable, considering what's in the hood.Yes, it's a little thicker and heavier, but let's put this into perspective - a quad core arm cortex A15 with a Tegra K1 SoC and a magnesium heat shield to dissipate heat. Yes, it's heavier than the newer Samsung Galaxy tablets, but it's lighter than the first ipad mini (and everyone thought that was so light when it first came out!)Buy it now!

Cons: Thicker and Heavier than other tablets

Pros: -Versatile both for console gaming on big screen TV and Portable gaming. -Amazing performance with graphically intense games compared to competition.-With NVidia Grid App you can smoothly play PC games from the cloud, no additional space required. Example Borderlands 2.-Stylus comes in handy for taking quick notes replacing pen and paper.
Comment:
If you are a gamer and also need a tablet this is the most versatile device you will own! Sometimes you want to sit back on the coach and stream TitanFall. With NVidia Grid you can browse a number of cloud games like Borderlands 2 etc. (Currently Free in Beta) just to try out some new games. With a good WiFi and internet connection PC cloud games run perfectly smooth. Android games like GTA SA run flawless maxed out details and resolution, where other tablets stutter.

Cons: wish it came with some kind of case to protect the screen, only 16GB storage( micro SD expandable though)

Pros: Great screen, very good build quality, games play flawlessly
Comment:
i love it so far. i have a GTX 780 Ti powered PC and cant wait to get the shield controller to do some PC class gaming on this little powerhouse. ships with Trine 2 which looks gorgeous on the 8 inch IPS panel. definately best in the sub $400 range for tablets and even beats most over 5-600 in build quality and feel.

Cons: - Thicker and heavier than Nexus 7 (both new and old) and iPad mini.- No extra accessories. Just a charger and micro USB. Not even a microfibre cloth. - 16 GB might feel a bit small. But it does come with a microSD expansion slot. 64GB microSD is like $30 right now, so I guess get one of those while you are at NCIX.- Plasticy and slightly hollow feeling when you squeeze it. Reminds me a bit of the old Nexus 7 or blackberry's tablet. But definitely built and feel better than the old nexus 7.- Might be a bit too heavy and thick to use it completely with 1 hand for extended period of time.- Can only stream games from PC to this tablet if you have a Nvidia graphics card.

Pros: - Very Fast. PC grade performance. Its Nvidia chip is faster than any android or iOS phones and tablet right now.... BY A MILE! Check benchmarks. - Very good screen contract, brightness and dark level. Better than I expected. Close to the new Nexus 7.- Best Android Tablet ever for running Emulators. Can even run Gamecube emulator almost at playable speed right now. Should be playable soon with Android L and more optimizations.- Great front facing stereo speakers for videos and gaming.- Stylus is the best I've used on a tablet! Accurate palm and fingers rejection. Passive stylus with pressure sensitivity(Unheard of!). A cheap alternative for artists looking for a digital drawing pad. Surface Pro 3 has more accuracy, but this is better for drawing IMO. Its free dabbler app with paints physics(oil and water) is quite mind blowing too!- Come with Trine 2, a PC grade game on a tablet to showcase its performance.- Amazing value. This has more than double the graphical power of the most powerful iPad right now and any other Android Tablet (beside Mipad which has the same SoC) and its cheaper.
Comment:
If you in the market for an Android tablet right now, there really is no better choice. All of Samsung's Tablets right now feel down right ancient by comparison(and proven by benchmarks), just try running Google earth on them. If you are thinking of getting an iPad Mini or this, I'd get this for its huge performance advantage and versatility. A tablet, unlike a phone, IMO needs to be versatile(like can run Bitorrent, Flash and connect to your PS3 Controller) as you would use it a lot at home. Android system gives you that. It's really a lot more than "just" a gaming tablet. It's speed means anything from browsing the web to using any android app is going to feel very fast. It's front facing stereo speaker much like the HTC One means watching youtube and gaming on this is going to be great as well. I'd recommend it.

Cons: Screen resolution could have been 1440p or 4k, and the camera could use a flash.

Pros: Tablet is very fast, and is able to stream games from your computer (only if you have a gtx 700 series graphic card). The dual band wifi is great for streaming and downloading. Camera takes great pictures in daytime. Video capture quality is superb.
Comment:
I really like the tablet and would recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to spend a fortune for great performance. Shield is now one step closer to becoming a mainstream tablet.

Cons: implicit android os privacy infringements and limitations when browsing or accessing external memory

Pros: best in its classprice point

Neophyte to android os so review of nVidia Shield Tablet limited.First impressions before turning the tablet on are it is well built in every detail though, other than a small safety information booklet, comes with no printed information. After turning the tablet on you are first required to agree with licensing and several privacy disclosures before being given access to any of what you purchased, possibly something android users may be familiar with but not found easily anywhere in the marketing of this product.Once given access there is a quick tour from which you might find the "Shield Tablet Help" with user guide, the only documentation you get for this device, and while corrected with the first update documents the nVidia Shield not the Shield Tablet. Familiarity with the installed stock android 4.4.2 os and the few modifications made by nVidia are assumed without documentation, offset by helpful customer support which is immediately available. The tablet lives up to its specs: impressive resolution, unparalleled graphics power [that can be progressively cut back if longer battery life is required], and great sound [don't expect real bass from those tiny bass ported speakers]. All that power comes with a price, it takes twenty-seven seconds for android to boot not the instant on expected. For something that eclipses my desktop's specifications it is limited by its android identification to a mobile device:- browsers may not have access to the same format and features of a page accessed by my desktop [setting chrome and firefox to "request desktop site" {also firefox addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/desktop-by-default/?src=hp-dl-upandcoming} and opera to "user agent desktop" gets past the worst of this if initiated from the url's home page];- flash and java do not support android 4.4.2 [though chrome mobile has pepperflash, dolphin can be made to work with an older archived flash player, and emerging html5 will replace flash?];- the external 128gb microsd slot is only supported by stock android 4.4.2 for read but not write from/to any public folder [apps may write to an external "sandboxed" folder which is deleted with its data if the app is uninstalled and with the inconvenience of extra manipulation a file utility can copy from "sandboxed" internal or external folders to more permanent folders]; and- the absence of an android e-mail app with its own private address list [e-mail addresses are accessible only from "Contacts" for which you previously relinquished privacy to Google].Under connectivity wi-fi is quite adequate with upgrade 1.1 dramatically improving wi-fi stability, though it was not as fringe sensitive as the iPad Air when compared, and bluetooth easily linked to my diNovo Edge wireless keyboard including all characters, punctuation, direction keys, and touchpad mouse.Personally not a gamer, which is the main ticket of the nVidia Shield Tablet, but was looking for something in a small portable package with enough resolution, computing power, and memory/storage to duplicate my desktop. The tablet has all that no question, but disappointed by privacy infringed without advise until after purchase and the implicit limitations of android when browsing or accessing external microsd memory -- the tablet has all the capacity for my intended use including price point but for these three things; otherwise would have given it five stars.
