Very first off, kudos to Newegg... I ordered two of these Wednesday, cheapo shipping, and here they are, Friday at 1300...Big fans to be in a position to use on normal 120 mounts, can push lots of air with much less noise than an equivalent 120.Just attempted it out, incredibly really quiet, TONS of airflow... I am stoked. I knew it would be an issue, so I ordered some typical 120s also, but I can't put these into the side door of my CM Stacker case... /sadfaceNot really a con, but figured I would mention it anyways. Genuinely qualifies for "Other Thoughts"...Fits perfectly in the tupperware I brought lunch to perform in...

I got what I paid for and I'm satisfied. It may well not be a leading of the line power fan due to the sleeve bearing but it is quiet, and moves a fair quantity of air. For the cost it serves me properly as I purchased this knowing the down sides of sleeve bearing fans. I wanted to experiment with my air flow without having dropping more $$$ than required at this point. I have it mounted in the best of my case as an exhaust along with a Magma 68cfm in the rear. It runs good and quiet and no added noise from getting run in a horizontal mount not like a lot of other fans. My Pc sits correct beside my desk on a brief stand approx 12" tall so any loud fan noise would be appropriate exactly where you wouldn't want it. This fan is undertaking what I hoped it would, a small additional exhaust and no added fan noise. It certainly pulls added cool air via my situation. The screw pattern is 120mm, and it is slightly smaller around the outdoors dimensions where the sides are much more rounded causing it not to fully fill a regular 140mm opening. Seriously NO cons so far following one particular month use. For the price I would feel it would come with sleeved wire harness, but no dilemma as I have the potential to do that myself. This is a mid range fan, if you require huge air flow from 140mm fan this may possibly not be for you. But this does maintain up with a Magma rated at 68cfm and is quite noticeably quieter even blowing by way of the grate in the top rated of my case. Cons: -Nothing I can think of

Pros: -Performance/Noise ratio
Comment:
This is an excellently performing fan with a good place of static pressure, air flow, and noise. Undervolts very well, using as an in-case fan to cool GPUs and motherboard components, does a very good job.

generates alot of windaggressive fan blade stylesmall center hub this is not a silent Pc fan, even with a fan controller setting this to extremely low you can nonetheless hear the high pitch emitting from the .20a Silent operating fans with good air flow are golden - if this is you, look elsewhere

Cons: mounting is spaced for 120mm

Pros: mounting is spaced for 120mmFairly cheap
Comment:
They are good fans. Just don't expect miracles out of them. The 120mm mounts make them suitable for CPU heatsinks, since many of them use 120mm mounts. They are unsuitable for case fans, since 120mm mounts on the case may not be lined up to accept 140mm cowls with 120mm mount holes.I bought them to replace CPU fans, so they are perfect for the application. As a case fan... not so much.

Huge.A lot more than enough Airflow. absolutely nothing. just be aware of the 120mm Mounting. Dremelled the side of my case to place this in so it fits perfectly :D have it blowing on my Vid cards. moves tons of air and is up to par noise wise with the 5 other 120s i have in the case. truly a wonderful fan.

Cons: Sleeve bearing, noisy when vertically mounted

Pros: it fits 12cm mounting
Comment:
Used this to replace a faulty fan on a new case, it's not really suitable for a vertical mount as the bearing makes a ticking noise

Cons: Wires not sleeved140mm fan only mounts to 120mm mounting holes

Pros: Good CFM to dBa ratio
Comment:
It pushed a decent amount of air through the case and the noise level was pretty good. The problems with this fan is that it is a 140mm fan that ONLY fits into 120mm mounting holes. There is no adapter that comes with the packaging for 140mm mounting holes. So beware when you buy this. Also, a minor point, wires are not sleeved

Cons: WHINES!!! it may be "silent" but the one I got whines!!! I don't know about other ones, but it is rather annoying, and I can't return it.

Pros: Lots of airflow.Fits 120MM holes (which is fine for my case)Whining fixes itself when using anti-vibration mounts.

I have a few scythe 120mm slipstreams, and they are really quiet. This however, is not. I am rather disappointed in this fan.2 stars, because as the caption says, "It works, but would not purchase again"EDIT: I just got a set of sku.51286 fractal design fan mounts , and it really, really helps make this fan quieter...(it still buzzes a bit, but it is far less noticeable) so I am raising the rating to 3.5 stars, which I am rounding to 4 stars... cuz I like scythe :) This review was modfied by poster @ 06-22-10 07:05 PM
