When I bought this mic, I had windows XP, and then upgraded to Windows 7. I have never had any problems with it working, ever. No drivers, nothing, plug in and go. Quality shines in this mic! I bought it to record my guitar on my computer and it does that and a full range of vocal applications as well... I paid $70 and thought it was a great deal then..

One of the USB Devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, you should have read the reviews for the product before you bought it. No USB Drivers AVAILABLE! (Though, it does look really nice).

Apparently a very very common problem with this thing. Vista could not recognize the device as a microphone and could not install drivers. Sent it back and got a Samson mic which works great.

Long story short: ---------------- If your Blue Snowflake is not detected by your operating system then you have to unscrew the mesh screen and connect the two circuitboards together again. They are held together by two 3-pin connectors with no snap-locking clip. The Good: --------- Once it works, it works great. The Bad: -------- I think Blue Microphone should trackdown distributers holding old stock and replace these units with the new design where this problem is corrected with a holddown pin. It is poor practice to expect a customer to reassemble a product to have it function as intended.

One of the features say, it's plug and play, not drivers needed. Well, that wasn't true for me. I plugged it in and the message from my computer said, Device not recognized. I'd recommend getting the wireless headset from logitec. It's a little more expensive, but only by a few dollars and actually works.

you can't run this mic with it mounted in the base that way, the USB connection is directly on the bottom of the microphone ball. This causes the arrangement to be clunky. If you drilled a hole in the base and had a hole in your conference table, then yeah - it would look like the picture. However the performance is great! Passes Skype test in flying colors even if it the speaker is talking clearly from another room! -----------------------------------------------------------------------------Just one or two folks tell me I sound like I'm in a barrel, but I think their phones have poor speaker quality, because everyone else says 10 by 10. Too bad the mic couldn't be operated as in the picture, I think it would work even better. For someone with a little more cash, you might just get a purpose built Skype conference speaker for 40 or so dollars more. But I am on a strict budget, and I'll take this one for now!

Our department is only 3 local people and two who are out of state - we downloaded Skype from the internet and are now having our staff meetings online with video and audio. Our first meeting online was not good because the microphones on our webcams were not strong enough for us to hear each other. I purchased the Snowflake microphone and it solved our problems. It is much more powerful, yet small and compact for our offsite meetings. I highly recommend it.
