Easy to install. Replaced 5400 rpm drive in a 3 year old laptop with this SDD, installed added RAM, now it runs like a new machine. Not as quick as some other drives but is best for my purpose. Extremely inexpensive thinking of the speed raise. I installed Win 7 32 bit on this drive and nevertheless have ten GB left soon after all updates plus necessary software (Office suite, etc.). I use Dropbox and don't use this laptop as my main machine, so the drive was best.

Really rapidly study speeds. Desktop computer system boots Ubuntu in about five seconds. HTPC can't see the drive. (Which was the entire cause for purchasing it.) I initially purchased this SSD to replace the 8GB USB memory stick I am using as a boot drive in my HTPC (MythTV Frontend). Unfortunately, the BIOS detects the drive as a 0GB drive and the OS doesn't see it at all. I have now due to the fact moved the SSD into my desktop Computer as my boot drive. It certainly boots faster than my 2nd gen. WD Raptor. Nonetheless, after the OS is up, there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of distinction in the overall performance of the technique.

Relatively low-cost O/S drive. Price me ู AR & Egg discounts. Got the rebate in the mail yesterday - thumbs up to Kingston. Under no circumstances had a difficulty w/ their rebates. Rebates!! They're a gosh darn PITA.Would be good if a 3.5" bracket was incorporated, due to the fact this is technically retail packaging. Oh well. AS SSD reports read speeds maxed out, using an older Intel ICH7 controller (𞳣). Create speed is close ࿉). Won't be performing a lot of writes, so that's a non-concern. 16.2GB absolutely free following installing Win7 x64 + SP1 + patches, turning off hibernation & program restore, tweaking the web page file, and so on.E5700ʃ., 8GB G.Ability DDR3-1333, Asus P5G41M mATX, 8800GS. Tremendous value. Excellent size for boot drive. My attempts to use this drive with an Asus M3A78-CM motherboard have been unsuccessful. Multiple attempts to carry out the initial Win 7 install led to various errors about not getting in a position to install onto the hardware. After a semi-successful set up the OS was incredibly unstable, blue screened, and so on. I moved the drive to a GeForce chipset motherboard and it worked just fine.Sadly, the return policy on this item is only a swap for a further 1, not a refund or even a credit to buy an additional brand/model.

Extremely rapid. I'm capable to push nearly a continual 120MB/s to this drive. System boot time is down to roughly 30 seconds, with roughly half of that getting my BIOS. Modest. Windows 7 Ult with 8GB of RAM will use all but roughly 4GB of this drive by default. I had to disable paging and hibernation. I would extremely recommend saving up to afford a larger drive if you intend to use this as a primary technique drive.

As a strong-state drive, it's quick, silent, and doesn't produce very considerably heat. Bought this drive for a Mini ITX laptop I am making to run a router distribution of linux on. Interested in seeing how lengthy this lasts... I have heard a lot of points about SSD's degrading with usage but I don't have a lot of 1st hand expertise with them. This is my first time owning 1. We shall see.

Really rapidly read speeds, quiet (of course) and makes use of little power... Typical write speeds... Solid SSD that was a excellent get when I bought it on sale although there are better buys when this is at typical cost. Good to use as a 'system'/'boot' drive. Not a lot else can fit on these tiny drives. Highly, really recommend working with a SSD to boot from, amazing improvement in overall performance relative to any HDD.

Quick, quiet, cool - normal SSD qualities.Utilizing it as the OS drive. Windows 7 boots in 15-20 seconds. Employing HDTune, attained an common read speed of 187MBps vs. 107MBps on a 7200rpm SATA2 Seagate Barracuda. Access time of .2 ms vs. 15.7 for the Seagate. Was delivered in a padded envelope. The ballistic plastic sits ideal subsequent to the drive so it didn't have as substantially protection as I would have liked in the course of shipping, but it performs typically.

Still relatively new, but so far it functions fine as a boot drive for my HTPC. Information rates look to be as advertised, fit win 7 and xbmc just fine. none not a con, but would've been good if it integrated some mounting hardware. but for the price tag, I'm incredibly pleased with it.

I place these two SSDs into a Raid array and all I can say is wow. I am receiving read rates of 370 mb/s and write rates more than 110 mb/s... I had a raid array with two regular HHDs and it took windows 45 seconds to load, and now it requires it less than 20 seconds. With these modest drives, this is the way to go. It is the exact same thing with all SSDs. So much funds for so little space. I am now possessing a difficulty with the SATA connections on my board... NOT Adequate... lol... Not truly a con on this device nonetheless... it is just how these things are proper now in the marketplace. The only explanation I didn't give this product a 5 out of five is that a five star really should BLOW MY Thoughts, and those are couple of and far among.

This drive smokes. It's been the one factor that my personal computer has been missing all these years. Boot time is so rapid that I don't mind shutting down my computer at evening. Opening applications is pretty much instant. Expense per GB. This was affordable for a SSD, but it would be sweet to have a 1TB version for all my photos and videos. Supposed to be quicker if it's "aligned", but when I stick to the procedures on the world wide web, Acronis didn't like it.

It's fairly rapidly compared to an HDD. Lowest price tag per GB. Supports Trim. Kingston reliability. Not the fastest SSD offered. I bought two of these and configured them in a RAID- for far better efficiency. I wish I had researched these much more before generating a buy... Kingston V-series isn't the fastest SSD available. Nonetheless, my Windows 7 Skilled x64 machine boots in 15 seconds with this configuration, so I'm pleased.A word of caution: If you intend to use these in a RAID configuration employing the BIOS RAID (fakeraid) on your motherboard, make positive to download the most recent Intel Rapid Storage Technologies software from Intel.com. You will need version ten.1..1008 or later to support Trim in this kind of RAID configuration.

It is less costly per GB than most others at the identical read/write speeds (so far better cost/performance ratio)...Kingston is usually excellent with rebates (hopefully it will be the exact same with meƝ year warranty I just can't justify a 30gb ssd for ็ to just get a fairly (but not uber) quick powerup -- from absolutely shutdown more than night to becoming ready to play a game or surf the net. It genuinely ISN'T *THAT* much quicker (though it is, compared to my raid wd 500gb blues), it doesn't make SC2 play any much better or boot it that a lot faster (I have an amd 645 propus x4 and a gtx460 768mb w/ both slight OCs on stock stuff and it boots quite speedily before and now)... I just hoped for far more performance for spending ็, ya know? no cables at all... it was like an OEM i guess...? I gave it 4 stars as an alternative of three since it functions with noticeable, but not crazily substantial improvement... AND with the hope that Kingston follows by way of with the ฤ rebate and its three year warranty!asus m4a77td mobo750 watt antec psabsolutely nothing special seriously...

Practically no heat. No noise. Tiny size. Incredibly rapidly. I'm employing this as the boot disk in an HTPC. Power on to Media center ready to use is 19 seconds with autologin and load MC on boot. Not to shabby. Rest of the program is a sempron 240 with 4 gig pc1333 ram. None so far The size is excelent as it enables me to place the drive in an odd place leaving the main bay open for a massive storage drive.

This is an update to a prior post.I have completed some tuning and now am receiving a 6.9 WIN7 Windows experinece. Little for an OS drive. I have been reading up on RAID, but I don' t feel the expense advantage is worth the difficulty to do this for a 30gig drive. In all probability my next build and I will go with 128gig SSD and hopefully the technologies will have improved.

more rapidly than my old drive... ultra durable, good metal finish, doesn't bogg down due to the fact of TRIM, value isnt too poor uncomplicated to install not considerably more quickly than Hdd on write speeds when compared to other SSD. not substantially space... SSD's aren't economical yet?not significantly poor to say but, wish it were more affordable and faster, or at least much more space not the finest ssd out there... if you really are going to get 32gb ssd you in all probability really should spring for the VERTEX or agility series, they are way quicker than this issue, its only like 20 dollars more...
