Installed effortless and booted proper up. None with the drive itself, my situation is a lot more with how Windows 7 defaults to this drive (running this and two x RAID arrays) for both its set up and default storage spot for data and applications. 30 GB can fill up very quickly unless you tweak Windows 7 by hand. The included application is fairly useless, but Windows 7 and XP both recognize that its a SSD and do the right issue with hardware settings.

It's nonetheless a SSD. Effectively, I just got Windows 7 installed and all the updates applied, computer software installed, and so on and then decided to do the ol' WEI. I have an Intel SSD in my other desktop, which I paid 3 times as substantially for so perhaps I'm spoiled, but this drive was only rated five.9. That's the exact same score as my 2 year old WD 250 7200. For the cost, it's not a negative way to go. Just don't overlook that you get what you pay for.

This SSD was bought for installing the core program on my new desktop. It is rapidly to read (and write, but I do not write considerably to it now), quiet and will possibly final a although. The BIOS screen takes longer to pass than it does to get to the login screen following booting the operating system. Shutdowns are incredibly rapidly too. Mounting it was a bit tricky as I was unsure of how the brackets had been supposed to be used. Now that I figured it out, it is obvious even though, so perhaps it was me. While this drive is small, large sizes are not constantly helpful. At this time, SSDs are considerably much more expensive per GB than challenging disks. Nonetheless, the rewards of an SSD are wonderful for specific uses. Using a small SSD for the operating technique and a hard disk for every thing else seems to have been a superior alternative.I am employing a Linux distro with kernel two.6.35-22. I do not recall the lowest, but the newer kernels support TRIM and other SSD features.

Functions fantastic, windows seven installed quick, mounting brackets effortless to use, comes with sata cable and mo lex to sata power. Windows seven rates it at 6.6 BUT im waiting on acquiring a new laptop or computer so its running on a older machine with only sata 1 so performance is bound to improve when im running this on a contemporary mobo None really, its performs wonderful. Perhaps sata 3 for the future but thats about it. Its a fantastic addition to an old computer system, or even a new 1. also Its much better off to do a clean install of windows, dont clone your drive with the computer software that came with it.

Inexpensive I will start off by saying that I thought this drive was going to be just barely large enough for Windows and a couple games I play. Properly it would have been but it occurred to me after 4 failed install attempts that Windows creates a pagefile to match the quantity of physical RAM you have.I could have worked around this by removing 8GB perhaps, installing, then putting the 8GB back, but I did not even want to bother. I was so frustrated when I got to that point I just decided to ship it back and buy a bigger SSD. So if you have 12-16GB of RAM, you want to appear elsewhere. You cannot change the pagefile until following you load into Windows and unless you get rid of RAM JUST FOR INSTALLATION you will not be able to use this HDD. I suppose I really should have recognized greater but the days of worrying about disk space seemed to be so far off, this thought had not crossed my mind since the early 90's.I am giving this drive a terrible rating strictly due to my frustrations experinced. It could really well be a terrific drive, I by no means got the chance to try it due to the headache I received attempting to install it. If you want a SSD smaller than a lot of thumbdrives, this is the drive for you. Personally, I think 60GB is the minimum you must use if you have the spending budget for it. You DO get what you pay for.
