Cons: kinda cheapcards slide in kinda tightlyaudio ports are only extensions from the ones on your mobono support for xD cards

Cons: The fan connectors only worked for about 5 minutes a piece before something on the units board crapped out. I 90% certain that the fan ports require to much pressure for the shabby solder points to handle.
Pros: The USB ports worked fine. It comes with the proper cables. The memory card readers work fine. It comes with the proper cables (hook it to your motherboard usb connection points) Comment:
Be aware that the front sound are connection points to the unit itself and the other end is the pink and green audio plugs that you need to run outside the back of your case and plug into your sound card inputs. There is no mother board connection points. It does come with a back panel cover designed for the cords but if you have no free slots on the back of your case your pretty much out of luck. Cons: lots of wires to attach, some conectors take a crazy amount of pressure to attach (be carefull)

Unfortunately I could not get this unit to work with Vista 64. That could be a PEBKAC error.The back of this unit looks like a squid once you hook all the neccesary wires into it so cable management will be a chore.I broke the input connection for one of the fan controllers trying to plug the cable into it.For XP I think this unit would be good if you are carefull hooking it up and put some time into cable management.I'm giving it 3 stars because it would be satisfactory if it worked with my OS. |
Got this for my case since it was the only one with a card reader as well as a fan controller. Had really high hopes for it but after getting it all set up found out it wasn't recognizing my Pro Duo sticks. Drivers were installed but still wouldn't go, the software disc it came with didn't even recognize that the thing was plugged in. No solutions through searching so I assumed it was just blown. Returned it soon afterThe fan controller and the other card slot worked very well. Picked up my SD card within a second of putting it in. The fan controller has quite a long dial which was nice when I wanted to find the point where my fans were silent.The connectors for the wiring seemed like they would just bend and break off as I was plugging and unplugging things. Note, the audio ports there don't give your setup any extras, it just acts as an extension and plugs into the ones in the back. 3 Stars, was happy with what worked.
