I am not hardcore into specs, so I cannot say how many I/O scrawls or kiloflops this thing can do, but I will say that there was a significant, NOTICEABLE improvement in overall system performance when I installed this in place of my old 250GB platter enclosure. I would recommend this to anybody looking at a well priced, low capacity SATA2 SSD. As of this moment, the only con I can think of is that it is not SATA3, but neither is my motherboard so it's a perfect match! |

Cons: Pricey when not on sale

I went through several Corsair SSDs that failed (3 weeks for one SSD and 3 days for a second) and had to deal with their nightmare support. Eventually I received a refund from Corsair and bought two of these Intel SSDs during boxing week.Great deal and includes a cable and mounting bracket. I use one in my desktop PC (120GB) and the other in a laptop (80GB). Great performance and very reliable so far. Highly recommended. |

Cons: -A quick search on google and you'll see many complaints about drives suddenly disappearing after a reboot, killing all of your data-Intel released an updated firmware to solve this issue, but the problem has not been completely mitigated-Relatively poor write speeds-Not SATA 3-There are faster SSDs out there today for around the same price range, though they are not Intel-based-In terms of cosmetics, the bottom shell of the drive looks like it has been used. But this is just how Intel makes their drives. It is indeed brand new. It is just that the metallic material that they use as the bottom plate looks uniformed (but it is still completely smooth to the touch).

A nice little upgrade especially if your system is only capable of SATA 2 speeds. Though if you buy this today, there are better deals out there such as new Sandforce offerings if you do not put much stock into failure rates (of which Intel has, by far, the lowest).Even with that in mind, the 320 series are known for sudden failure where upon reboot the drive only has 8mb recognized, bricking itself more or less. It's not a guarantee that the latest firmware from Intel has totally fixed the issue. So buyer beware. |

Bought this thing for $50.00 on boxing day. Thing totally smokes a conventional drive and with a 5 year warranty so I shouldn't have to buy another one anytime soon. Of course there are much faster SDD drives out there but $50.00 for 80Gb is a steal. The only real downside to this drive is that it has a SATA2 interface. Though I'm not sure if it would really be able to take advantage of the SATA3 bandwidth.At regular price of $150.00, you might want to consider a different drive. You can get a faster SATA3 SandForce 60Gb Corsair for probably $100 although you might have issues with SandForce. |

I bought this SSD right when it came out a few months ago. I recommend this retail package for people who wants to install it in their PC without a hassle. Cables and mounting screws are included along with the bracket. I chose Intel for their known reliability and performance. It might be a bit expensive compared to the competition, but you know what you're getting, and you won't be disappointed. Other companies like OCZ have had their share of problems by trying to lower their price with cheaper components.(A simple google search will prove my point). Intel is the way to go in my opinion if you care about stable reading and writing speed! Thanks NCIX. |
While an older drive in the current SSD market you get a great overview and sample size of what to expect in terms of reliability. I was willing to sacrifice slower sequential speeds in favour of having a SSD that didn't bonk out on me in the short term, even if it was used only as an OS drive.Enable AHCI in the bios and let your PC do the rest. For users that don't game or require a lot of space sapping programs, the 80GB unit is more than enough.Prices are starting to finally creep down so if reliability is a concern, the Intel 320 SSDs are a no-brainer.
