Cons: nothing.

Pros: Still rock solid and fast after 1 year.
Comment:
Its a very good SSD. You cant go wrong. There are now lots of model that are better than the X25-M but when i buyed it, it was one of the best. Its still a very good one.

Cons: Not really a con, but price is high for the casual user.

Pros: Read speeds pushing the 270 [mb/s] mark on my standalone drive.Trim is now in firmware.Photoshop opens in 2 seconds.I took the leap and glad I did.
Comment:
As this posting, Intel has not yet implemented Trim in drivers for raid arrays. If you just use your system to surf the web or email, this isn't a must have.Win7 & Vista detect and support proper alignment on ssds. If you are using this as a boot drive for XP, you need to jump thru some hoops, as XP doesn't align correctly to ssds. Just google "xp ssd alignment" and this will direct you to the proper procedure for installing xp on a ssd.

Cons: Capacity vs. Price

Pros: Very fast, using as boot drive and my programs / gamesCompletely silent!
Comment:
I built a new computer and thought I should add in an SSD and see what it could do. You will not be disappointed! I have done research online and found that Intel was one of the top SSDs.

Cons: Comes in a sketchy cardboard box

Pros: VERY fast SSD
Comment:
This SSD has one of the fastest random read speeds on the market which is the ONLY speed you should be worried about because it is the ONLY thing that determines how fast your OS and programs will load, and thats why you're buying an SSD isn't it?

Pros: Fast, Low heat

Using with WinXP as boot drive with two partitions C: for my programs and D: for my frequently used data. I've got a 640GB WD for the rest of my data and my Drobo takes care of all my movies and music. This drive is FAST!XP users be sure to install the Intel Trim utility and schedule it to run every day because the speed degradation is noticeable even after one day of use (I'm a heavy user).

Cons: Capacity naturally but hey, can't have everything.

Pros: Extremely fast, great OS drive, speeds up the entire computer by such a significant margin I can't live without it.
Comment:
Quite simply the best upgrade you can put in a computer that's already got decent hardware. It's the best $200 upgrade you can get for a computer if you don't already have a SSD.I haven't used any other SSDs so I can't compare it in that regard but this is great.

Cons: Price

Pros: Performance
Comment:
The X-25 is usually heralded as the king of the mainstream SSDs, while not the highest in capacity, it's performance is hard to beat without going for a drive that's going to cost an extra 100-150 dollars or have a much smaller capacity. It's ok in the grand pricing of SSDs but they're still a little overpriced in most instances.

I missed out on a retail partners deal on this drive at a discounted price, however even buying it at retail I feel that I got my moneys worth as this drive really adds the best performance boost you can get these days. My system is used as a PVR, gaming and photo edititng machine and this drive really helps in all aspects.

This is one of the best SSD's you can buy right now. It supports TRIM and is probably the best upgrade you can make to a computer by using it as a boot/apps drive. Pair this up with a drive for data and you're set. You won't go wrong with Intel in terms of reliability.

Cons: Premium in pricing

Pros: SmallPerformance
Comment:
I don't know how much new material I can come up with that's different from the other reviews. I picked this SSD up when I wanted to do a fresh install of Windows 7 and upgrade from using a Western Digital 1TB Black Caviar. I may sound like a broken record, but boy did I notice the speedup in the OS loading, games loading, etc. The performance was very noticeable. The overall small size and OEM meant that there would be no additional brackets could prove to be difficult for some, but I just used tape on mine and call it a day, plus could eventually one day may be used in a laptop, thus could give it new life in the future.I guess my only beef is that the premium in pricing that we're paying, very debatable. Yes, you do get a good performance boost, but i've heard from other people that you could get almost the same performance for a SSD of lower overall capacity but the pricing would go down. 4-Stars for this SSD, great product but would be much better if the price goes sub-$200.

Running 2 in raid 0 scored 7.9 in WEI. My old score was 5.9 with WD HDDs. It made a bigger difference than the XFX 5.2 5870. It is an amazing.

The main problem with having a SSD is that your entire system is to slow for it. Also, I have 3 other standard drives and when moving files it doesnt get any faster (which is normal), but this make me almost want to have an entire SSD equiped computer...

Cons: there is no competition so the price is kinda high

Pros: THIS IS THE *BEST* OF IT'S CLASS
Comment:
I put this X25 drive in my MacBook laptop to replace the Fujitsu 250GB mechanical hard drive and it cold boots Snow Leopard in 15 seconds. Plus with a 1500G operating shock rating I don't have to worry about head-crashes, bearing failures and all the other risks that could cause me to lose my precious data. I understand that Intel *invented* MLC technology and their ten parallel channel design is not duplicated by anyone else AFAIK. Other brands of SSD drives use cache memory to improve performance but I understand that this Intel drive doesn't - it's just inherently FAST. IMHO there's Intel's SSD and there's everybody else....but you pay the price.

The only issue I had with this product was during Windows 7 install that would fail during the update process. This was my own fault as I failed to notice the OS wasn't seeing this as a Primary drive. That was a quick fix but had me concerned I had a defective drive for a moment. Very nice SSD and boots windows 7 (fully; meaning all programs are ready for use) on my rig in 20 seconds.

Cons: price is high, ordered two one came and showed 7.4mb, had some troubles with raid but works

Pros: really fast, small, doesn't get very hot, not grinding sounds like hard drives other words silent
Comment:
This drive is crazy fast and I bought two and put them in raid 0 so now there even faster! If you have nothing left to upgrade your pc with this would be it. I would give them 5 stars but since one came already dead and i had to wait two weeks for another one i give it 4.

Very nice, installed easy, just need to install new firmware and it's ready to go. Single x-25m G2 gets 7.4 in windows experience score. Roughly 255MB/s read in Sisoftware Sandra too. Overall nice purchase. 80GB goes fast though.

Cons: - Price per gig- Sequential write speed slower then some (bad for big files)

Pros: - Loads games fast!- Fast OS response- TRIM support
Comment:
It is probably the best purchase I ever made to upgrade the overall speed of my computer. It helps loads every game I play a lot faster. Lord of the rings online loads a load faster. It might be because the .dat files got fragmented and would need to defrag the files but with the SSD it got rid of that problem I had for almost 2 years with fresh installs. Sure it might be a drastic measure but it helps a lot for OS activities and other games too.Well worth the 300$ price imo. If you can price match it, it is even better (which I did).

Comment:
The performance on these guys is great. Is it worth it? Probably not to most, but when going back to a mechanical hard-drive based system, the speed difference is very noticeable when working within the OS. Game load times are a bit faster, but nothing to write home about. Wish it was cheaper, especially considering the size, but early adopters understand paying a premium is the only way to obtain the hottest tech. Can't wait for $100 1TB SSD's!
