Intel has built a good reputation for their SSDs.If you value your data/reliability then Intel is the way to go.It is not the fastest drive out there, but it is still one of the top units.Comes with a 2.5/3.25 bracket, nice latching type SATA cable that is very flexible and a 4-pin molex to SATA power adapter cable.

Pros: Great price and fast performance. Nice 5 year warranty.
Comment:
I purchased both the 240GB and 120GB versions on the Boxing Day sale mainly because they were priced so low. I have always heard how fast these SSD's were so I thought I would put one in each of my PCs. Needless to say, I was very impressed with the overall speed boost that I experienced. I decided to go with Intel because they are supposed to one, if the most reliable SSD's on the market. If anything goes wrong, at least I have a 5 year warranty to back it up. I would have no problem recommending this to anyone. Worth every penny!

This is the best upgrade I have given myself in my new buildI got this for 180$ on boxing day salesIt simply does what it does out of the box, simply threw it into my CM Storm Stryker 2.5 inch mounting on the bottom, installed my windows 7 fresh on itStart up takes 10 secondsInstalling, loading programs and loading games (even in game) is just ridiculously fast. The storage on SSD's is still quite expensive thoughJust get this and put your games and other programs on thisKeep your movies and music and photos from your DSLR camera on a 1 - 2 TB WD HDDPerfect, done. This 520 INTEL series SSD is a pure winner.

Cons: Price tends to put this drive slightly higher than others on the market

Pros: Performance gain over the Intel 510Intel has the lowest RMA rate in the SSD/HDD industryFast, really really fast!
Comment:
I had an Intel 510 120GB in my PC, and needed to upgrade. I did a LOT of research into Intel when buying that 510, and only did a little bit when buying this one because of how well the last one performed. I learned that the M4's and the Intel drives were VERY close in design, with very few differences, however, I was aware the M4's performed better. Every benchmark out there will prove that. The M4's were a little cheaper as well, however, I valued stability and reliability over performance, considering that any upgrade from a mechanical HDD to an SSD is substantial. I remember reading that it's normal for RMA's in the 3-5% range which most were, but the Intel drives were below 1%, that convinced me right there. Consider this, the price difference is usually the cost of shipping the drive back for RMA once in the lifetime of the product, and that doesn't count the value of the inconvenience of being without the drive for 3 weeks. Needless to say, I'm happy with the purchase, especially on sale for $189.99!

Comment:
This may be the best 240gb SSD drive on the market. The firmware is solid and not likely to create  problems for you down the road. Setup was quick and painless. It comes with everything needed for installation; mounting adapter and SATA cable. This drive is a little pricier than other makes but is probably worth it. Great when it's on sale.

Cons: Issue with the X79 boards and Intel Rapid StorageIssue with monitoring programs like SSDlife being able to properly read correect running time.

Pros: Price on saleIntel 5 year warranty and reliability
Comment:
Great SSD for the most part. Bench marks are in the normal range for this type of SSD. The only issue is with this SSD and Intel Rapid Storage on the X79 board. If IRS not updated to version 3.2 then S.M.A.R.T will not work on the SSD which renders part of Intel tool box not working. ALso causes other SSD monitos to not work at all. Also an issue with programs like SSDlife not properly recording the runtimes properly. E.G. mine shows a total run time 894835 hours (102.2 years. Know issue but unable to find a fix for it yet.

This came on sale at the perfect time! My old harddrive started clicking while I was doing the data transfer to this new drive! Windows 7 installed quickly, the Service Pack update  took maybe 20 minutes tops, and my gameplay and system response is amazing. Love this drive (on sale)!

Cons: none

Pros: nice software suite
Comment:
I got it on sale and brought an older PC to life with one of these. Only using SATA2 but still very fast compared to a HD. THe software from Intel for these drives is very simple and clear to use. Shows expected life remaining on drive, recommends firmware setting tweaks to get the best speed out of the drive. Seems to be more thought out as a complete product as opposed to the OCZ Vertex 3 I have in my newer PC because of the software.

Comment:
These drives were an upgrade from two different previous generations of Intel SSD's for me and the performance increase was significant. Read and write speed are among the best of all of the available SSD currently available.Intel SSD's have a very good reputation for reliability and my personal experience with them so far confirms this. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when looking at purchasing these drives though:If considering it for a notebook then, depending upon what your priorities are, there may be slightly better alternatives available in a slightly cheaper price range. Samsung SSD's provide performance reasonably close to this Intel drive and are much more energy efficient. Re: All SSD's are extremely energy efficient when compared to mechanical drives but Samsung drives stand out even among the SSD's. When looking at upgrading an Ultrabook's drive, for example, you may want to shop around first if prioritizing battery life over performance.Intel's are not the cheapest drives available. It has to be mentioned because some people just want the most storage for the lowest price and Intel does not deliver that. It does deliver a SSD that leads the pack for speed and, presumably, reliability. My confidence in this product is so high that I've started deploying them at the enterprise I am employed at. I would recommend this drive to anyone in the market for a blistering fast SSD backed by Intel's legendary reliability.

Cons: DOA ...

Pros: Great Intel replacement Service. Great Intel SSD Toolbox Software.
Comment:
Good day,I am very disappointed in Intel after years of trouble free usage of their first SSD model. I decided to go SATA3 but what a mistake. After using the free and quite usefull Intel SSD Toolbox, it discovered a major design flaw and the SSD must now be replaced ... And now, I have to reinstall the hole shabang again ; ( and pay for the shipping fees ...I guess things are not what they use to be ... At your own risk.

Came to this from a 120 gig SSD, also Sata 3 but this one seems to still load faster and is faster overall. Got it for only $214 on sale and it is worth every penny even at the regular price. From my experience I have NEVER had a problem with Intel products and would recommend to anyone.

Comment:
Coming from Corsair F150 Series, this SSD is one of the best SSDs out in the market. However, Intel 520 can be expensive for some buyers. Therefore, I recommend other branded SSDs like OCZ, Kingston, or other reputable companies if extra cash matters. Otherwise this SSD is great
