Great PSU and I would recommend it to a friendA little pricey but worth it in my opinionI upgraded from a BFG 850w, which was not good at all, to this monster. I bought my second 8800gts at the same time and my problem with the cable length in my case being to short was no longer an issue. |

Bought this to replace a 600W Seasonic for running 2x9800GTX (soon 2xGTX260) and for some future proofing. I've never owned a Silverstone product before and the quality seems extremely impressive with this unit (especially considering the reasonable price tag). The Modular cable system is very nice for reducing the mess inside your case (and increasing airflow). Comes with all the cables you should need (and lots of extensions & adapters). It also seems to run fairly quiet. |

Ok , very nice ultra stable power supply , my only little concern is the size . I got a huge thermaltalke ATX case and i add to take the upper fan , upper usb part and 50% of the front face to put that beast in . With that sayd i am not sure witch the St1000 is to blame or my case ( they need to redefine ATX if you ask me )But once everything is back ( no more upper fan tough ) this power supply is all you expect from it . |

I upgraded to 1000w cuz i need it for the 9800gx2 and I have 3 drives, 8 usb, 4 case fans in use. my old psu didn't have enough juice for the 9800gx2 and it killed my hdd. |

I upgraded to the strider 1000W from a Corsair HX620. This power supply is better in many ways, not just the extra 400w. The Corsair used to make a high-pitched sound whenever I launched a 3D app. It was noticeable and terrible enough that you had to wear headphones. The strider has no such effect, there seems to never be a difference in the sound that it makes. There are alot of included features, the pci plugs are compatible with all the different video cards (nvidia/ati), and the box includes many things such as thumbscrews, velcro straps, and a very nice little tool pouch. The 140mm fan makes a different sound than all the 120mm fans, so the sound kind of 'adds up' and makes the computer louder. My other complaint is there is a very slight whine at about 18Khz or so, I can hardly hear it but it is there. its very likely just some coils vibrating, I may try to fix it eventually. Its unfortunate but it is 'normal' behaviour. |

Overall it is a very good PSU, it is silent but a bit big, very good quality, makes a great difference from the cheap temporary 520w I had, now overclocking is much more stable. I think this PSU is an awsome choice in its class! |
Great sale price. I've always used Silverstone PSU's and I have never had an issue. This one is working away just fine, and I expect it to last like all my other Silverstone's in the past. This replaced a 500W Element PSU, so I can add a second 4890 in the near future. Woot for gaming on the big screen soon!
