Awesome storage capacity. Nice and quiet and reliable |
I have much experience buying hard drives. I've used drives from Seagate, WD and Maxtor and in my experience, Seagate is hands-down the winner in reliability. WD drives have crashed on me many times, even when they were new, like the one that came with my Dell XPS8300. After I re-installed Windows and everything else, I cloned everything to this Seagate drive. I noticed right away that boot-up was much faster (1.5 to 2x the speed, in fact). This is an enterprise, which is supposed to be Seagate' most reliable. The one downside is that this Seagate drive (and others I have used in the past) have noisy head seek, several times louder than the WD. But reliability is most important to me, so I don't care about a little more noise.Bottom line: Pricey, but fast and reliable.
