Pros: pricegood speed |

Cons: Expensive at retail price; No Load Balancing; Only Full Duplex GbLan
Pros: PCI-Express 1xUltra-Easy and quick configuration.Normal and Low-Profile brackets included. Comment:
Pretty decent upgrade for 49.99$;Uses PCI-Express 1x, so no bottleneck like Good Old PCI would; and should prove to be usefull much longer.Realtek RTL8111C is widely supported;Comes installed with a regulal bracket but a Low-Profile one is bundled as well. |

Cons: none that i come to mind
Pros: gigabit connectors, low profile, uses a widely supported realtek chipset Comment:
I purchased 2 of these cards to put into a high performance gateway that is running pfSense (based on FreeBSD). These cards installed flawlessly, no software or drivers required. The gigabit NIC ports are run by Realtek RTL8111C chips which are about as widely supported as they come. Also, as one of the few dual port cards available on the PCIe bus; it allows for true dual gigabit ports to operate on a single card. After my positive experiences with this card, i'm anxious to get the 4-port version of the same card (uses PCIe x4) |

This is one of the only networking cards I have found out there that is PCI E and can be low profile works perfect much faster than onboard LAN |

At first this seemed like a very good product and deal. I was using it in a system so I could use a bandwidth shaper for a small network and do it off of one card. At first it was fast and reliable. After about 3 weeks it started slowing down, dropping packets and then at the last would completely turn off one or the other ports. Drivers, OS, Firmware all were up to date and working properly. Still the ports cycled on and off without a warning it was about to happen. Reverted back to the old tried and true seperate card for each channel and back to no problems. OS versions used; Win7 and WinXP PRO. AMD and Intel processors. Did not matter where, what or how it was setup, it would do the same thing------fail miserably. |

My choice was either this or the Rosewill one (for the price). For any device, my biggest concern is driver issues. I made my choice based on that this card uses a Realtek chipset and the Rosewill one has driver issues. I installed the card on a PC running Windows Server 2008 R2 and it was recognized by Windows' built-in driver. I couldn't ask anything better than that. 5 Stars! |
Does the job at the fraction of the price of the competition.Installed in a Supermicro server to replaced failed integrated LAN ports.
