I installed drive in another slot and transferred internal lines to new drive. Have problems with win7 and going to reinstall on new drive and transfer files and apps. But the hdd is not detected and beeps. Will contact support may just need to jumper or something. I receive email for ncix and ordered. |

Cons: ots of space, good price, quiet ConsSlow compared to red/black WD drives SummaryOwned 2 of these for a couple years, never had any problems (with any WD drive actually). Price keeps dropping, fairly quiet & efficient. Slower than the red/black lines of drives but for the price a great deal.

This is a great price for a large drive (large to me as I don't store a huge amount of media). I had no issues with the install of this drive - operating Windows 8. It's also quiet, no noise issue for and noise level is important to me. My only complaint would be that Windows rates it far below my other components on the Windows Performance rating. Not sure why, I mean I don't notice any performance issues with it. I think that to do better than this you'd have to go to a SSD. |

Same problem as Ruslan encountered. I purchased this on the Xmas sale and never could get it to work. It wasn't detected by the comp ( I tried it on 2 comps). That and accompanied by a loud noise, I too believe something is broken inside. |

Pros: Quite fast. Crystal Diskmark with 1000MB test shows 180MB/s seq. read and 176MB/s write on an Intel SATA III port. Nice and quietdetected right out of the box Comment:
I've only just installed and benchmarked the drive, but so far this seems like a speedy and quiet drive. I was impressed with the multiple layers of padding in NCIX packaging and was comforted in knowing the drive had a safe trip. I know everyone loves WD black, but these perform better AND give you more capacity per dollar. No brainer, IMO. |

Purchased it around two weeks ago due to sale but only finished building my pc today, to my dissapointment hdd is not being recognized by the system and makes funny beep like noises. Will go to ncix and see if I can get it replaced |
I purchased this for my father's pc as storage (he has an ssd for OS) and so far it has been great. I generally stick to WD Caviar Black for all mechanical HDD but the price on this for the storage amount was too good to pass up. It is a quiet drive and was easy to set up. Don't listen to all the people here with bad reviews saying things like "OMG I CAN'T SEE THE HARD DRIVE. IT IS CRAP". I am sure a few are legit and may have some issues mechanically but most I am sure is because...... People with the "My computer cannot see this drive it must be "BROKEDED"!!" Listen, with Windows 7 if you do not see this drive you MUST:1. Go to run and enter [diskmgmt.msc] and hit [enter] to open Disk Management.2. Now You can see all the hard drives and partitions of the computer system.3. select the partition which doesn't have a Drive Letter.4. Right Click on that Drive and select “Change Drive Letter and Paths”5. Now click the Add button and assign a drive letter to the partition.This will fix the issue for you 9 times out of 10.
